I think I know exactly what you mean.
They didn't "grab" me either on the first pass, or the second . . .
The latest images were: "There's gotta be something decent in here that I've overlooked."
That was the thought process. They're smaller pieces, more severe crops, my attempt to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear I suppose.
*blush*
Time to get out the cameras and produce some new raw material. I just haven't had any compelling inspiration of late. No irresistible ideas.

Thanks for popping in.
My thoughts of late have been along more dominant lines. So when the inspiration *does* strike, I think the odds are high that this is what you'll see. (I am much more comfortable with the term "dominant" than with "aggressor", by the way.)
I was trying to articulate some of my feelings last week -- feelings which are still very much in flux, it seems. And I said that I was much more comfortable with being the *recipient* of someone's voluntary concession of power/control. More comfortable with that than, say, the idea of "forcibly TAKING" same. Not sure if that makes sense, even in my own mind.
I have one idea that is taking shape in my head -- an idea that might work for an outdoor shoot, which is something I've been wanting to try.
With oneself as the sole model, it's MUCH easier to photograph submission than dominance, I've discovered. Maybe it's time to start working with additional models?
