Let us try and imagine a world where the widow of a police officer would approve of his coworkers showing up at the funeral and putting up a physical display of dissatisfaction with their boss.
To what degree the killer was inspired by the mayor's words will never be known, but they certainly did nothing to prevent his actions.![]()
This was not a protest, it was a funeral.
Instead of honoring the sacrifice of one of their own they disrespected him and the wishes of his widow because they don't like the Mayor. It was petty and childish, inexcusable behavior.
Maybe the widow was onboard with the shunning.
What is it with you yahoos and this propensity to create weak, shitty goofs on people's names? None of them are ever as clever as you think they are by half.
If that's what you're trying to do. If you actually fucked up Mayor DeBlasio's name by nature, then it's sad and I apologize for admonishing your dyslexia, which isn't your fault.
No, the mayor is a clown and is in way over his head so De Bozzo is appropriate. He had an opportunity to diffuse some of the tension with the NYC cops with a simple apology but he choose not to do so. Then he re-appointed judge Laura Johnson which was a direct slap in the face of the NYPD and the DA.
There is no comparison. WBC makes a raucous, noisy scene at the funeral of somebody they don't even know about something not remotely related to the deceased. The cops quietly protested about the mayor dissing their fallen comrades.![]()
No moron, the widow asked specifically (as did the police commissioner) that they not turn their backs on the Mayor as they did at the other officer's funeral. Being petulant children they did so anyway, disrespecting their fallen brother in blue, his widow, and everyone else at the service.
A funeral is not the place for a political statement. Those fucks are barely one step above Fred Phelps (may he roast in hell) and his band of miscreants at the Westboro Baptist Church. Just barely.
Then he re-appointed judge Laura Johnson which was a direct slap in the face of the NYPD and the DA.
He can't change the fact that he's an anti-police brutality leftist.
Do you have any proof she ever said any such thing?I have seen videotapes of her and have read about her in reliable accounts such as newspapers and wire services and there was never any mention of anything of the sort. The police commissioner, one of the mayor's political flunkies, did ask but was ignored.
At least we agree in our opinions of Fred Phelps.![]()
Thanks for nothing, and for falsely mitigating his demonstrated feelings.
What exactly did the Mayor say that could be construed as anti-police and not anti-police brutality?
Because the Police Commissioner stated: "De Blasio is very pro-cop ... This is not an anti-police mayor.”
Is this one of his anti-cop statements?
“Every law enforcement official, every officer has to serve the people in this city,” the mayor said. “The vast majority of people in the NYPD take that very, very seriously. If some individuals don’t, that’s a problem for us because we need people to go out there and do our jobs and do them well.”
Was it his opposition to "Stop and Frisk" which was shown to unfairly target Black and Hispanic people and was found to be unconstitutional by federal courts?
I think that the NYPD and even Al Sharpton are missing the main focus here. It's not just that this happened to a black man, or a white man, or a Hispanic man. The problem is that it happened AT ALL.
If the officers responsible hadn't broken the rules, abused a human being, and effectively murdered him, they wouldn't have to worry about people making accusations of racism or anything else. The NYPD screwed up, and it cost a man his life. It doesn't make a difference to me what color he was, the fact remains that he was wrongfully killed in a country where the police are supposed to "serve and protect." Those responsible for this death need to be held accountable.
Somehow, we're supposed to blame the Mayor for the actions of a mentally disturbed man who gut-shot his ex-girlfriend before coming to NYC specifically to kill cops. But ignore the demonstrable fact that Black and Hispanic people are racially profiled by the NYPD as the Mayor pointed out when he spoke about he an his wife training their son how to interact with the police to insure his safety.
