Well, Duh, indeed. Since there is no such place as Podunk, Iowa, how can anybody be from there?

Box where are YOU from? Which planet I mean. You sure as hell aren't from earth!
(Let me guess. You're from planet Dumb-Ass, right?)

ETA Can you do that blinky thing with your finger like ET?

omg, but Obama supporters are just as blind as bush supporters
If Obama did the same things Bush did; breaking the law both international and national, undermined the Constitution, supported torture and illegal detainment and numerous other ethical lapses too many to mention; I'd take big chunks out of his ass as well.

well hopefully obama won't...it just worries me that he says one thing then does something else. not sure that he is as foolish as bush but we shall see. I just pray that we don't head back to the carter years and have no idea what to expect next year with this bail out and stuff....then if we pump 45 billion into the big 3....can gm even live 2 years from now with this? or will gm need more money next year? sorry to say that the big 3 need to go bk, then give what ever money is in the pension to the union and 86 the pension program, 86 the jobbank program, and bring salaries back to reality...86 the jets, 86 the corp bennies

Last I looked the government didn't bail out the Big Three.

And since Obama isn't President yet I don't think you can blame him for that.

Hey look, I do not want obama to fail at all. Geeeze who does? Seeing how in the last two months over 300,000 people are or will be going on unemployment, that GM could close shop…and the massive losses people have suffered to his or her 401k and other retirement funds….one would have to be crazy to wish Obama to fail.

What does drive me nuts is how he says one thing this week, and next week says something else.

So do you always do the first thing you think of when faced with a situation? Never, ever change your mind?

that is a little different, I'm not out trying to get votes or support from other people...so its a double standard. One has to learn and change course as the situations changes; however, with Obama he said one thing to get the votes to be the Dems canidate, then changed his message to become prez. is he any different than the others in DC, no.

Example, Obama said that he would support campaign finance reform then once he became nominated for the dems, he flipped and opt out of the finance program. Granted he knew that he pull in millions more than McCain, so it was a smart move on his part…and I’m sure that this was his plan from day one. But what I can’t respect is the fact that he flipped on this subject. Makes me not trust him.

You must be totally untrustworthy if you never change your mind, then. Either that, or so rigid you break instead of bending. Which is it?

Give the man a chance to actually start on the job, ffs.

I hope he does a great job, but the issues that he's changed his mind on...most of the things that he has flipped on are things that things that he more or less lied on (that is what I feel).

Knock, knock. Heelllllloooo. Anyone there?

Obama takes office on 20 January 2009. Obama isn't responsible for anything going on now. He doesn't have any authority/power to do anything about whatever he promised to do yet. To know if he does, you'll just have to wait for it with everyone else. Can you possibly manage to get your little pea brain around that?

yeah, he's not in office and pray that he does a great job. sorry for the confusion about the past two months and the job loss, but was not making any reference to Obama on that topic.

pea brain, funny :)

re: the big three bailout...

hmmmm. Read that the max. stock value for GM is about 6 Billion.

The hell with loaning them money. Let's just buy them. Do what needs to be done at a cost that the taxpayers are going to bear one way or the other anyway, then sell the stock back to the private sector at a profit.

It's better than the idiot state we have in Citigroup and AIG now. The taxpayers are potentially on the hook, debt wise, for something like five times the stock value of the company... with a potential return of 8%.

Warren Buffett got 10% on a much smaller investment.

If you hand out a big chunk of money to the union bosses, you can almost expect them to take off to Argentina with it. They are probably just as dishonest as the company bosses.

Probably? You give them too much credit.

Yep, I've always thought everyone but Boxlicker and DP were crooks too. You're a crook; he's a crook, she's a crook; I'm a crook. They are crooks. Only two honest people in the world. And EVERYBODY else is out to scam them.

That would be an exaggeration, but union bosses have been known to plunder the treasury or the pension fund, or use it to promote criminal activity. So have corp,. execs, of course. I wouldn't put too much trust in either group.

Ya think? :D

It's also getting very tiresome to read you Yahoos who obviously know nothing about managing complex issues rag on everyone but yourselves.

You're quoting me out of context again.

I don't really think you have any context, if you want to know the truth.

"Quoting ouf context" means quoting only a part of what somebody says, thereby changing the meaning. Sometimes you have to cite a single paragraph, but an honest person will avoid changing the meaning of what was actually said by the person being cited.

Really? I've always wondered what "Quoting ouf context" meant. I always thought it was pig Latin, though.
