OCC/Casting Call: Young Gods

Cats, the idea is that eventually gunpowder would be used for utility purposes, but when you're talking about an age where iron has not yet been discovered and the threat of war with savages is always a danger, the most obvious application, as a weapon has a greater appreciation. Especially when supply is limited.

My logic is to use it as a tool for speeding the mineing of the meterials needed to amke bronze, the result of better defenseive and offensive equipment seems more useful to me then the very limited use as a weapon. Part of the logic is you must train a team to use the explosive weapon corectly, seeing as they are completely new to the idea of an explosive weapon. Furtehr mroe the extra bronze could be used for trade.

Still the difrences here are the matter of opion. I think difrently from you, thats as simple as it is.

I hope the way I wrote Morgoth out meets with everyones approval, it's the kind of way I'd like to deal with anyone dropping out...no loose ends.

Then, if someone wants to come back they can, but they will have to have a new God.

Bunnies, I can't find that excellent post you sent me that I wanted to use as a textbook.

Lit has been, you may have noticed, messing up and it cleans out my PM box without my permission.

Do you have a copy you can resend?

I have no complaints but if you wanted the same god, say you used a quick pass to get into heaven. Quick passes even heaven uses them now.

Hey, if my writer's block clears up, I'll try to jump back in(with Polite's permission, of course). Nice, Polite, very nice.

My thought was this on that:

If someone was having prob with a certain god (ie his writers block) then maybe it wasn't the right god for that person.

And, some other player might join between then and now who had something that overlapped their old dominion. I think it would be unfair to say no to a current player beause someone MIGHT come back, don't you?

I would never turn down some one for that reason but and for that matter when they come back they may not even want the same chara, still with creative writeing you could work a dead chara back into the story. In the case mentioned above, your right but if say I wear to leave and come back some time latter and no one had taken my domain then why not come back to a developed character plot?

Then again this is only my thoughts on the subject.

Sorry I haven't been posting: Illness in the house. Kids have strep.

Anyhoo, got a PM asking: What can the gods do to each other?

The answer I PMed back was:

Directly? Little.

However if your followers are pitted against his followers, you steal his religious icons, convert his followers, take over and re-consecrate his temple to your name...a lot.

You can, effectively, remove him from this plane and take over his job if all his temples and shrines are destroyed and his followers become your followers or stop believing in him.

However, that would take some heavy plotting. What I did to M. was a quickie fix.

Oops, I think I was the one who started getting our hero's name wrong. What a Doark.

Hey, so there are no monsters in this world for Hoark to battle? I wanted to insert some manticores into the desert crossing, just to give him something to do. Could an NPC god like Yoth (god of convenience) create some monsters? Otherwise it's just bandits and other gods' armies.

Swamp, you just cracked me up. I must agree we need a god of monsters. Something for us to quest against. In particular Hunters need to hunt. A monster god would be an important NPC, or at least I think it would be important.

There are three ways to get monsters:

One; put something normal in an odd place. (You all must have heard the story of the blind men and the elephant!)

Two; use your higher power to create one.

Three; ask Mother for one.

"Hey Mom! Need a 3 headed serpent to guard a so-n-so thingie."

I can almost reasonably assure she'd do it.

Other kinds of monsters: Mutated humans (Like Medusa) or bad breeding (when gods mate with other things) and curses.

Very wise solutions. I can no longer complain about that. So I'll bitch and moan about my lack of abilty to complain about the last topic. Actully Thank you Polite for cleaning that up.

I have a very zen like approach to that: When the student is ready, they will ask.

So, when you get to a plot point where questions come up, just ask. We'll work it out. :)

Well in that case, will we ever skip any length of time because something (None of wich have come up yet) like reborn heros, creation of another great quests, dimi gods, ect. will take alot of time.

Not to mention immortality. Yeah, I've been wanting to skip ahead a generation myself. Maybe after the war in Besaid?

If everyone wants to; but I rather thought that Hoark the Doark was sapossed to start on a quest.

Tho due to illness here I've been remiss.

Hey Abraxas, that last Caradan post rocked. I'd been meaning to say that for a while.

Basically, for me, the frist week of school and stuff, so I'm too tied up with stuff to actually think about writing on any of the threads.

I'm sorry.

It happens. We all have school and real lives so none of us can write all the time, hell I disapeared for over a month, and thats not nearly as long as most people do, so lets just post when we can and try and keep the thread going, but when you can't post, those that are waiting, will have to be pateint and understanding, thats how life works right?

Just keeping this thread from vanishing while everyone is not posting, unless you all are done and want to let it die.

Well two people isn't the best poulation for a thread any one else still here?

I am here. I have been waiting for others to post. I know Polite is taking some time off for a bit. I don't know about the others.
