Old School Musicianship… Rock and Roll.. Jazz… Blues… Big Band even…

Dickey Betts deserves at least one more song.

The Allman Brothers Band - Ramblin' Man

Have to add this as I just remembered it (amazing what memories will pop up when you hear a song): I had this song on one of those K-Tel albums, I think it was called Southern Fried Rock or something like that. As I recall, all the verses were included but it faded out when the guitar solo began. K-Tel albums were notorious for cutting songs short and this one was no exception. Maybe not much of a memory, interesting what your mind keeps stored in its deep recesses).

Birthday wishes to the one and only Peter Frampton, born this day, April 22, 1950. Plus, it was announced yesterday that he'll one of the inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And I have to play something from Frampton Come Alive, just because.

Peter Frampton - Do You Feel Like We Do

Birthday wishes to Paul Carrack, born this day, April 22, 1951. He's been in a number of bands: Ace, Squeeze, Mike & The Mechanics, among others. He has a really great voice and has sung on a number of hits, this being one of my favorites:

Ace - How Long
