Old School Musicianship… Rock and Roll.. Jazz… Blues… Big Band even…

My Heart Will Go On (Love Theme from "Titanic") - 1997
Song by Celine Dion and James Horner

One of my favorite songs by Kansas. I saw them in 1997 and they did this song; Steve Walsh was still with them, though Kerry Livgren wasn't at the time.

Kansas - The Wall

During the same show where I saw Kansas (above), Eddie Money also played (Night Ranger was a third act that was also at the concert). When Eddie did this song, his wife came out on stage and danced during the song. Afterwards, he said "She's what keeps the Money Man happy at night."

Eddie Money - Shakin'

This song isn't even remotely what this thread is about... but I created it so I don't care that I break my own rules once in a while. 🤣🤣

I was reminded of this song today and gave it a listen again after years of not hearing it.... and I still dig it. I thought maybe some of you might also.

Odds - Heterosexual Man

I want to say I've heard this before, at least the chorus sounds vaguely familiar, but I can't swear to it (I may have heard it on Modern Retro Radio if anyplace as I listen to them on occasion).

Regardless, it has an 80's power-pop vibe to it with maybe a touch of The Smithereens.

Elmo approves (y)

Speaking of The Smithereens, I had to play something by them. I think this was their biggest hit, they should have been more popular IMHO

The Smithereens - A Girl Like You
I have this CD. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Edit: I haven't heard this song in a long time, hearing it again was great fun! Thanks for posting it!!!

Hmmmm... can't imagine why this song is in my head. 🤔🤔🤔

Yusuf / Cat Stevens - Another Saturday Night

I used to look forward to Saturday nights, going out and partying with friends or just hanging out. Other times I'd just take a long drive for a couple of hours. Now I'm looking forward to going to bed at 10:3o or 11:00pm. Guess I was in too much of a rush to get older.

Anyways, here's more for Saturday Nights!

I remember riding in my uncle’s car, so I could babysit my cousins and hearing this on the radio when it came out. 🥰🥰🥰

Since it is Father's Day, I think it's appropriate to celebrate them in song. My Father has been gone since 1997 and I do miss him greatly. This song seems perfect for him (plus he was a big country music fan):

Loretta Lynn - They Don't Make 'Em Like My Daddy

The Spinners came up on my suggestions on Youtube this morning so I've been giving them a listen. I don't believe I have any of their music on CD, have to do something about that.

The Spinners - Working My Way Back To You/Forgive Me, Girl
