Old School Musicianship… Rock and Roll.. Jazz… Blues… Big Band even…

Rush gets a lot of grief for their mid-to-late 80s albums because of the keyboards and synths on them, and while it's a valid argument and I think their output from Moving Pictures and before are superior, there are still some gems to be found in the later albums like this song. The guitars aren't buried in the mix and Geddy Lee's vocals aren't as subdued as some other songs he sings during this period.

Garth Brooks! Wow, wifey and I attended a lot of his concerts, multiple times when he was on tour, from PA to CA & South Texas to Canada. She was in better condition then...I was too. Got lots of t-shirts & souvenirs, it was fun then. I still have every CD & DVD from his concerts

In the early 90’s, I was going through a period of total disgust at what was on the radio. And I stumbled onto a Garth Brooks song, and ended up with a CD and was delighted by what I heard. At the time, I thought rock and roll had shifted to what was then called Country, and pop music was… well… bad.

I found a ton of new country music I loved, and Garth was at the root of my discoveries. 🥰🥰🥰

That sad part is - I would love to build a list of country songs I love to hear and dance to, but right now, I only remember around 15 songs. 😳😳😳

And country songs sometimes have religious roots..I can look for you. I got lots of time. If you don't like it I'll delete it.

My good friend from NZ reminded me of this…. (Unintentionally) 🤣🤣🤣

Johnny Winter - Still alive and well

I used to play this in a band… I didn’t get the message then, but today? Yeah! I get it!!!

JOE BONSALL Lead Singer Died today age 76
7/9/2024

Another artist who died I just heard about was Joe Eagan, the other half of Stealer's Wheel with Gerry Rafferty; he passed on July 6, 2024 at the age of 77. No where near as successful as his bandmate after they split up, he still contributed to a standout classic song.

I'm always in trouble...I said the "B" word in jest on the BoS thread and the modulator has restricted me for three days of no posting. The .itch! Of all the things that are said here & I get slammed for that!

I didn't know they did a time-out over there... I'm surprised.

I'm also surprised you didn't post a certainly Rolling Stones tune here... like maybe you were inspired... 🤷‍♀️ 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

@BrendaD
I stopped over to Sex & Shenanigans to see everyone there and it was like I didn't exist, very depressing. Are there any threads that you are on that maybe I can visit? Maybe music or...you know what I like...
