Old School Musicianship… Rock and Roll.. Jazz… Blues… Big Band even…

I just heard this again... and I'm always amazed at how really good this is. I don't just mean the song, and I don't just mean Elvis' amazing singing... listen to the quality of the recording. The bass is right there. The piano, right there in the mix. Do you know how hard that was to do... in the 50's? Amazing stuff!!!

Elvis Presley - Jailhouse Rock

.....hey Brenda....this was rather interesting, albeit a bit different......he takes the song "Do You Feel Like we Do" and breaks it down whether it be guitar, base, keyboards or percussion and truly points out what makes this song great.....and if you don't approve I will remove it....but its so cool how it was put together

I am assuming this is a Rick Beato vid? He’s great. I don’t think it quite fits in here, but no reason to take it down. I think Rick is really interesting.

Thanks Brenda.....It is Rick......I love how he breaks it down and shows all the little intricacies that get overlooked with all the other instruments collectively......love the sound of the equipment and the skills of the musicians! And I thought others might find it interesting too, if they were not familiar with Ricks video's

I don’t mind Rick Beato at all. He offers some wonderful insight into musicianship… so I guess it does really fit in here perfectly… I just hadn’t thought about that way. 🥰🥰

there are so many little things, that are not always easily heard, that just add to the overall dynamic of the song, and once he pointed them out, I now always listen for them.....Lol I guess I should have become a sound engineer lol

Besides amazing musicianship, I have a thing for really amazing music producers and sound engineers. The people that can really capture an amazing sound, just the right mix, etc.

I posted Elvis’ Jailhouse Rock earlier because of that amazing sound. Compare that recording sound to a lot of the contemporary songs, and they just don’t sound as good. And I don’t mean the skills of the musicians, just the quality or the recording.

I was on another music site and placed this song. It sounded so good I am placing it here!
Swing on a Star by Big Dee Irwin and Little Eva

Oldie slow song for today
Don't Play It No More by Thurston Harris (1957)

Doesn't seem real there was a year like 1957. I love the backup singers in this song!

one more for today
She Cried by Del Shannon

He was a extremely great artist!

Rochell and The Candles - Once Upon A Time - Early 60's Doo Wop Classic

I really, really, really love this song. It brings back many memories both sad and good.
And, no one sings them like Rochell & The Candles
