Old School Musicianship… Rock and Roll.. Jazz… Blues… Big Band even…

I love this song... and I'm not sure I've ever heard anyone cover it and get the groove right. That off temp playing is genius work there. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Wilson Pickett - Mustang Sally

I know this wasn't one of her biggest hits, but it might be my favorite from Aretha....

Aretha Franklin - The House That Jack Built

Okay... I need some more from Aretha...

Aretha Franklin - Respect

Addendum: I had to look it up - apparently that is Tommy Cogbill on bass. I wasn't familiar with his name, but he's played some of my all time favorite bass parts. Sooo cool to finally find out who this guy is.

He was also on Mustang Sally which I mentioned just a few posts back.

Sure ’Nuff ’n Yes I Do - 1967
Song by Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band

An old song reminds me of the beach and dance hall on the pier in Wildwood NJ when I was a kid. Miss those days. So, this is the oldie for today.
Summer Love by Ruby & The Romantics

I am not into Bowie's more eccentric stuff, but that is not now, nor ever what this thread is about. It's about killer mainstream stuff that we've all heard and loved. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
