Old School Musicianship… Rock and Roll.. Jazz… Blues… Big Band even…

Good morning... I need some Stones to get my blood flowing this morning. And I know just the track for a lazy Saturday....

The Rolling Stones - Monkey Man

Fast forward to 1973... and from the first chord from Billy Preston on keys, this song just has such a cool rhythm.

Walking into the quite house.... click on the power amp... turn it up... play this song.... oh yeah!

The Rolling Stones - Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker)
Thanks Breada that makes up for the 3 Beatles songs. :)

🥰🥰🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I'm not one for "favorites"... but this is my all time favorite Stones tune... and this is a good morning to enjoy it. 🥰🥰🥰🥰

The Rolling Stones - Can't You Hear Me Knocking

I bought this when it came out on cassette, and at the time I was working at the big music venue in Portland and got to watch them rehearse... sooo cool!

The Kinks - Destroyer

When I bought my first Gibson Les Paul, back in the 80's... I remember being so excited when I realized I could get this tone... 🥰 🥰 🥰 🥰

The Rolling Stones - Midnight Rambler (Live From Madison Square Garden, New York/1969)

They had so many great R&R songs. For me I love hearing them every day.

Peter Trunk, composer and bassist was unfortunatley killed in a car accident on New Year's Eve, 1973 - the same year this groundbreaking fusion album came out.

I found my old case of CD's over the weekend and here's one I haven't heard in ages.
I'm Going To Be Strong by Gene Pitney

He had an amazing voice, and the music built higher and higher. Great outcome!

And this one is my favorite. You can tell it's an oldie. A dime for the Jukebox!
If I Didn't Have a Dime by Gene Pitney

There! That got the sound of the Beatles out of my ears!!

Whatever.... I think I want to wander down Baker Street...

Gerry Rafferty - Baker Street

Just kidding with Brenda. I'm not a fan of them, but as you know they sold millions of records and songs and made history.
I totally understand. I have several big huge acts I don't get why they are so popular whatsoever.

But Baker Street... that's an awesome song.

Just sayin'

I had that album that Summer of 69 was on... and to me, there was one really good tune on it....

Turn this one up.... no, louder than that....

Bryan Adams - Kids Wanna Rock

Addendum: I came to the sad realization a few months ago, that kids no longer wanna rock. They have their listening choices, but that isn't rock. 🤷‍♀️

Sad isn't it? They have no idea how much fun they are missing. I feel the same way about them, and I'm older (just a little than you so I have had that same feeling now for a long time. BTW, that song rocks!! Ilike it!

I'm pretty sure this was Emotional Rescue, which I had on vinyl back in the day. Along with the crazy poster that came with it. 🥰🥰🥰
Yea, I think it was too. When we went to their concert in Phila. We kept yelling for them to sing it. But sadly, they didn't. I'm sure they could hear us over the crowd! :))
