only 6% of scientists are republican

Your particular brand of faith-based science, in any event.

I'm not a Christian. You're a fucking dumbass with a BA...

You still choose not to believe in the greenhouse effect. Because the implications of the greenhouse effect are incomparable with your political agenda you prefer to pretend that the whole thing is a hoax caused by a massive conspiracy of environmental scientists.

I believe in the Greenhouse effect.

I believe there is such a thing as a political agenda.

I believe not in a hoax, but of the best intentions of people who really care being co-opted by people with a political agenda.

The only conspiracy is the consensus of the unthinking and the uncritical deciding that the earth is overheating due to man's activities.

Putting man at the center of the Universe is so ancient Christian history...

Your thinking brings to mind what a great journalist, H.L. Mencken said:

"Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach."

College professors know about far more than business administration. They know about history, they know about government, they know about science, they know about literature, and philosophy. They are enlightened, civilized, cultured, and usually Democrat.

We're seeing the proof of that in spades.

No one in their right mind would ever confuse the stench of your hate-drenched personal philosophy with Christianity.

No, you worship at the altar of discredited science: "AIDS is a myth", "Global Warming is a myth", "Oil is a renewable resource", "Intelligent Design", in fact you could say if it's not peer-reviewed, you support it.

Link to me advocating Intelligent Design.

I am an adherent of chaos philosophy and given pure randomness, if it did happen, it could happen.

Dumbass. Your rhetoric outs you.

Did AJ really say that oil is a renewable source? I wouldn't doubt it, but I would like to see that in his own words.

By "unthinking and uncritical" you necessarily include the vast majority of environmental scientists who agree that human activities are responsible for the earth's overheating.

The implications of the greenhouse effect are that major restrictions on economic growth and economic freedom are necessary. Once it becomes generally understood that economic growth is problematic, there will be a great deal of interest in economic redistribution. That is why those on the economic right pretend that global warming is not a problem, or that it is not happening, or that there is nothing we can do about it.

The religious right thinks Jesus is coming again soon, so it does not matter.

What about math? Do they know about mathematics? And football, what about football?

And how does that equate with top researchers in university science departments also being lecturers?

So why don't they have real jobs in the private sector?

you do know not all schools are operated by the government right? right? holy shit he didnt know! oh my god you are a dumb ass! i went to a public school and knew that shit.

but seriously you are a dumbass. stay classy;)

So why don't they have real jobs in the private sector?

Obviously because they find greater rewards in academia. A professor whose books sell can make more money, and certainly acquire more fame, than most business executives. There are non-economic compensations as well.

Also, many academic specialties do not have practical applications. What that means, however, is that one who gets a teaching position in one of those specialties is likely to be more talented than one who gets a position in a practical specialty. A university that wants to hire a professor in business administration has to compete with corporations. A university that wants to hire a professor in political philosophy can choose the best available.

Vetteman thinks any job that has no profit involved isn't a "real job"...

Teachers, researchers, soldiers....

vetteman does think killing people is a real job. Only don't call him a "soldier." When he killed people in Vietnam he was a Marine.
