OOC Casting Call: The Great Hunt, based on Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time

Yeah, there will be a pledge in Illian.
Everyone is welcome to either attend or not, as they wish. Attending only distinguishes you as a pledged Hunter, it infringes in no way upon your ability to find the Horn.

Now we just have to see if I can pull the damned thing off.
I feel like I'm making an entire novel, with all of the different scenario's and possible outcomes I've been setting up for this.
The only thing that's set in stone so far is the location of the Horn. I've already got it planted somewhere, but you'll all have to follow the clues left by my incompetant character and piece them together to find it. (If anyone's played Final Fantasy 9, think of the Chocobo quest. Not counting the picture thats included, you have to find the spot based on a very small text clue. this is like a much larger-scale version.)

Jaehan Rowan

Jaehan was born in the back-alleys of Lugard. He was always involved in the street-gangs there; as a boy as a courier, pickpocket and decoy and as a youth as leader, planner and sometimes killer. He pushed his way up through the gangs until by twenty three years of age he was the undisputed king of the streets.

Then the changes started. Jaehan was suddenly discontent and tormented in his urban surroundings (the only kind of background he'd ever known). He was suddenly disturbed by all the people around him, crowding him, talking too much. He held on to his position by grim force of will, but part of him kept wondering if a pack... a gang would operate better on grounds of mutual trust rather than fear and brute strength.

Eventually Jaehan could stand it no longer. He left Lugard and plunged into the forests surrounding it. He had no knowledge of survival outdoors at all. In two days he was near dead from deprivation. Then the wolves found him...

People who used to know him often don't recognise Jaehan these days. He wears furs of all kinds (except wolf-fur) as clothes, he carries a short ash spear instead of a knife. He seems at peace, something the Lugarder street youth never was. He moves more gracefully, sees and hears and... smells? incredibly well. And he's got the damndest yellow eyes...

Jaehan has been making his way to Illian the last few weeks. He's determined to take the oath and find the Horn of Valere, for reasons of his own, which he's not prepared to reveal.

Keiren Raynal

Aes-Sedai of the Yellow Ajah (and reasonably high in the Black Ajah)
Keiren is one of the best in the yellow ajah, healing those who others thought too far gone. Those who she heals however, she does something else to. She hides this aspect of her healing from everyone, and often the person healed doesn't know what has changed. Keiren is capable of killing with the power also.

Currently Keiren is in Camelyn, staying in the Palace.

Keiren has one warder, Mikale. Mikale is also a Darkfriend. (I'm going to play Mikale and Keiren as a unit, keep them together most of the time. Is there any problem with that?)

I have no idea how it might fit into the plot, but I'd love to be an Aiel, just let me know.

There were small parties and individual Aiel crossing the Spine of the World in search of He Who Comes With the Dawn by the time of 'The Great Hunt'. How this could be fitted into the Great Hunt itself is up to you and Blaze (perhaps your char thinks it might summon HWCWTD?)

You're more than welcome to be an Aiel Spear Maiden, and your reason for crossing the Spine is up to you. (Lethe's suggestion was a good one, I thought)
You could even create some manner of Dream Telling from one of the Wise Ones bidding you to go in search of the Horn.
Just remember, as an Aiel, you'll be somewhat anachronous among the population at large. You may be recognised as Aiel at certain parts of the thread.

That's gonna be the tricky part, Chewey. Your best bet is to limit your posting to only your character's actual actions and spoken words, since you're competing against everyone else here. I'm assuming everyone is going to play fairly, and remember that anything that they read about another's character in another part of the world should not be known by their own character, but it's rather hard if you should muse aloud, "Hmmm, I've figured it out, the Horn is in *****", and the other players still have to pretend their characters don't know that.
If something happens to you, post it. If you say something, post it. Any thoughts of your character should be your own thoughts as well, however, and should remain that way.
Remember, only my character's actions and thoughts should be assumed to be known by all of your characters. If something happens to Chewey's character, Lethe should only have knowledge of that if he happens to pass through the location of the incident, or if the incident is of huge significance. (e.g., one of Crysede's little "surprises" strikes and you happen to save an entire town, etc. My character's actions, however, are to be assumed to have been heard by all of your character's as gossip the moment I post it.)

I just read that, and it's not terribly clear, so if anyone has questions about what the hell I mean, please feel free. This isn't just a competition between all of your characters, its also between all of you players.

Lady_J, if you want in, you can either post a bio here today, or post it later, the thread is pretty forgiving and allows for late entries.
Everything's just about ready, except for organizing things with Crysede for the whole random acts of fate thing. (I still have to do that, I think she's waiting for me)
