OOC Casting Call: The Great Hunt, based on Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time

If I remember correctly Petrel, Blaze did not care whether we all met up or once since we are all in competition with each other.

Nice avatar by the way.

Quite true, my only concern regarding teaming up is that you maintain the competition between you. (I assume that there is an exception between an Aes Sedai and her warder, but any other alliances should be of singular benefit, not mutual. You are all in this for your own best interests, not to help your teammates)
If anyone chooses altruistic reasons for finding the Horn, helping humanity for example, you should still have reservations about your teammates, wether those be suspicion of motivation, simple mistrust, or pure ego, is your own choice.
You can join with whoever you wish, but remember, with the above noted exception, only one person can win the game, and only one can find the Horn.

Good point Blaze. Hell, I just figured that once I found the horn,I would wind it. Then send the heroes after Megan. hehehe

UUUmm Petrel, you did not see that did you?

Who me, Never. I would never betray my Aes Sedai. I am too honor bound to do that. Plus I have seen her pictures, so I am going nowhere. :D :p

mmm but if you start even thinking about plotting against me we'd better do something about that. Remembering that Megan can get a pretty good idea of what her warder is thinking about I wouldn't chance it if I were you! :p

(what pictures? innocent little me have those kind of pics - oh yes I believe I do now fancy that!! *slow smile* (should be more soon chewey))

Too late?

Greetings. I'm an avid fan of RJ's WoT series and would like to join up if I may. If allowed I would like to play an old time favorite character of mine, granted he's never been played on the Lit forums. but anywho. Here he is.

Name:Conrad Methuras
Affiliation: Children of the Light
Rank: Captain
Nobility?: No longer. Originally of Saldaen Nobility

The leader of the "Fist of the Light." Conrad has been known throughout the realms as an avid follower of the Light and a fanatic for the causes of good and right. He leads his elite squad of heavy cavalry lances onto the field to battle for the dome of truth and its banner. Though once a defender of Sal Daea and the border, he has turned from that in the hopes that he might do more good for the whole of the world than simply one city. He is a cavalier at heart, and is always at the forefront of battle with his men. Discipline, Honor, and Duty are his staples and the darkness beware of where Conrad treads. Conrad has a charm and charisma all his own, though his looks are more on par with a regal battle scarred lion. He is bald and has only one eye, along the left side of his face he bears a large claw shaped scare from a trolloc raider. There is much character in this man and though the Children of the Light are feared throughout the lands Conrad and his Fist of the Ligh are revered for they're valiant deeds and they're willingness to assist the people. Though he is devout in his followings he is also a benevolent soul to those who need help in thwarting the shadow. Deep down Conrad knows what he is doing is right, and finds it difficult to hand men, women, or younglings to the Hand of the Light, or as he and his men refer to them, "The Questioners." To him there are few who can stray so far from the light as to be irredeemable, he hopes to show through action to all the peoples that he comes across that the Light is indeed the path to follow.

Conrad is a warrior, and thusly is heavily armored and carries a large battle axe that many a man would be hard pressed to use, along with a battle pitted though polished to a bright shine steel kite shield emblazoned with the golden sun. He is always in pristine shape in uniform and would be dead before being caught out of uniform or with a stain to mar his whites. His heavy war steed is much like him. If a touch more arrogant. Shining steel barding and white leather tac cover him, and narry a fly can manage to land upon his white flanks before it is swatted away. He is a monster on the field of battle and together Conrad and "Dai'shan" are a duo to be reckoned with. Many a fo has feared the battle cry of the Children especially when uttered from the lips of Conrad and his men, as they charge onto the field with shining lances held at the ready.

Its not too late, and I find your character quite interesting, Oracle.
It will be interesting, indeed, to see how a Whitecloak reacts to this quest.
Accepted, most definately.
Be warned, however, that the thread is moving somewhat slowly, due in part to the challenging nature of the adventure.

Blaze

That was very kind Blaze.

It should have read "This thread is moving slowly since the players are very stupid. " hehehe

Chewey

Oh please.
When one person has a problem, I tend to think they're stupid.
When its two, I think they're both idiots.
But when there's a whole group of people with the same difficulty, it tends to bespeak a certain level of challenge, quite apart from mental inadequacy and ineptitude.
LOL

Blaze

Coolness

Allrighty then. I look forward to joining up in the thread. I'll assume Conrad is on his own on this one and his squad is in Illian on some downtime. In Conrad's spare time I s'pose he's lookin to find the horn to assist in the lights battle over the dark. wooo always on the job I guess. ;p

Sounds good to me.
I have no real objection to the occasional involvement of the squad, but don't make it a habit, and don't use it as too much of an advantage over other players.
Otherwise, have fun!

Blaze

Ok Petrel, the ball is in your court.......... or was that the balls are in your hand????? hehehe

Chewey

eh?!

Boy, you weren't kidding when you said this group moved slowly. Hopefully I'll see something soon...

Oracle.

Ok, smart guy, then you figure out where the hell we are supposed to be going. hehehe

Just kidding

Chewey

Well, if my character had been privy to the clues, which by the posts suggest he isn't. I'd say you should be heading to the south of Andor, IE: The two rivers, or the mountains of mist. The two rivers themselves not being that well known, but the mountains of mist are practically a landmark and also used to be a basecamp for a large mining operation. Urmm yeah, sooo I'd recommend we all go there. ;p

but thats just me.

I of course cannot comment on the validity of your comments, since that would spoil the secretive nature of this thread, but I can point out that your character is privey to any and all information posted about my character, regardless of when it is posted or when you arrived. Everything that happens to my character is common knowledge. If you wish to write it as such, you can have your character overhear it in a different manner in a tavern, or he can receive it as a dispatch from his superiors, or you can make up something for yourself. You have no way of knowing the events which occur for other characters, but mine are completely free for disclosure to all parties.

Correct Callsignoracle, that is where I would image Blazes character currently is. But based on the clues, that is not where he is going.

Chewey

Sorry everybody, I've been somewhat preoccupied with RL lately, and havn't been posting as much as I should. I'll see if I can revive this thread a little, put up a few more posts so you all have a few different clues to choose from and narrow things down a little bit.

Blaze

me too.....
at the moment I'm trying to eliminate places that DON'T fit the specs... unfortunatly It being all so cryptic its hard to be certain of ANYTHING. Except I know my name, the name of my warder and the name of my horse. That's about it I'm afraid :D

gasp!

you know the name of your horse?

i probably have a dozen (including retainer's mounts) and none of them have names... just a few descriptions like 'grey'...

:p
