OOC / Casting Call: Xavier Institute For Higher Learning

I believe that everyone planning out the battle scenes does take some of the fun out. I would rather carry out a plan and see if it works or not. I think that everyone on the same team should PM and work out what plans are possible. I found that in the last thread everyone just did their own thing and that it was hard to work as a group.

Everyone on the same team PMing is a kinda gray area. With telepaths or long range comms then it would be valid cause the villain wouldn't be able to hear but if everyone were in the same area then everyone would have to be privy to communications cause that's part of the fairness of competition.

Eh..too bad someone didnt have the Superhero Roleplay book so we could set up D&D style stats that we could roll . We would have to rely on everyone being honest about their rolls but that shouldn't be a problem.

I found a few Dice rollers so they are out there but again it would be all trust.

Gambit's Kenetic charges 4xd10 (4 thrown cards) worth of damage after an AC hit on a D20.

I don't think the trust would be so big an issue. It's not like we're playing for money.

I never understood people who cheated at board games, what fun is it!?

lol

Well if everyone agrees to it you and I could sit down and try to work out some type of system. That or I could try to find an Ebook on the Superhero Roleplay game on Livewire or google it.

In the last thread, we didn't hear the villian's make out their plan. Fantomex didn't have to discuss what his plans were with Fatale and wait for her to post and hopefully go along with what the plan was. So why should one group get to hear everyone making plans but the other group doesn't get the same.

PMing each other would help with people like me who aren't familiar with comic books and what my character is capable of.

Villians, I think, should have more room to move. The cards are almost always stacked against them, as everyone wants to be a good guy, yada yada. It's hard being evil. I'd like to give them any advantage possible, because going on a cake walk isn't very heroic.

As for teams PMing amongst themselves, I'd like to see the IC generally kept in the thread. If its OOC, say, you asking for technical help, etc., I say go for it. As long as you're not plotting or can draw a firm line between IC and OOC knowledge, it's okay in my eyes.

Plotting against the bad guys in a PM is a definite no-no to me. However, maybe planning a twist - a rebellion, some treachery - against a teammate? I might be inclined to let it slide...

I'm just pointing out that plotting outside of the game is already going on.

With the PMing battles they would still have to be posted by the different people and the opponent would be given a chance to decide if it works or not. I believe that there would be less posts with a chicken with our heads cut off feel.

I'm not objecting to the secret evil plots of the villians, because they kept things interesting and surprising in the last thread.

That and you have to understand that Villians ran by the same person will always have inside information as far as what the player will do with them. Shaq Contoled Fantomex and Fatale in the last thread so of course Those two not to mention Dark Beast and Emplate were all on the same page.

Only Deadpool, Juggernaut, and Sinister were posted by different people and they all had bit parts in the thread. Juggy and Deadpool had bit parts they were there then gone and Sinister was used to push a Characters in the right direction, Drop some tid bits of plot and in the end to tie up a few loose ends had the answer for the cure.

you're all a bunch of meanies XP....oh well, Wizard was just leaving anyways

A couple things happened on the last thread.

Chronicle was going to take control of half of the bad guys but his abscense kinda shifted things.

Mostly, Fantomex's character allows for the "clandestine" approach I might not have made it clear.

On E.V.A, he could be talking to Storm and Havok and no one else would hear though they are beside them.

Mostly though, everything had already been planned out.

Juggernaut, the cameramen, hiring Deadpool, all those things had been in place long before the thread. If you notice I mentioned those camera guys owed Fantomex for something he did for them a year before. And when he went to meet Dark Beast they barely spoke to each other because they already knew what to do.

The only "new" thing I did that would be unfair was having Screech betray Wizard. That move was certainly contestible but I did that cause Deadhand wasn't being used much, Wizard was growing a bit too powerful, and I thought it would be funny as fuck.

But if we were say Brotherhood versus X-team if Magneto gave Blob and order and storm was right beside, Magneto would have to post it in the thread since Storm would be able to hear.

If Psylocke were to give an order she could do it in PM.

She could also do it in the thread but then other players wouldn't be allowed to act on that knowledge.

What I found more funny than Deadhand betraying Wizard, was the fact that they kept Deadhand with the group after. I guess now that he got that out of his system he should be harmless. ;)

That actually was a big problem in the last thread. We're working on steps to rectify it. Some we won't be able to do right away and some we will.

I guess it won't hurt if I spoil it now, but no one should feel obligated to do anything in the current thread.

If a mission comes up and you don't want to go then you don't have to.

If you're a team leader and a mission comes up you don't have to bring people you don't want to bring along.

Magma being allowed to accompany the team and Deadhand getting dragged along seemed to be part of the confusion.

More info will follow on the subject later.

Yo! I'm not dead y'all, just a tad absent minded! Just thaught I'd drop in to say that I've given a character description to Shaq for total aproval, and that the ever-loved merc Deadhand is still alive and well, lurking in that shadows - although not inside the institute. He'd get his ass kicked if he was....

I'm trying out a new character. I don't know anything about her except what I have found on marvel.com.

Surge

Real Name: Noriko "Nori" Ashida
Occupation: Student
Height: 5'7
Weight:137 lbs
Eyes: Brown
Hair:Electric blue
Powers: Ability to absorb electricity and rechannel it into speed and offensive bursts; a pair of power gauntlets control her electrical intake and discharge.
Abilities: Surge is a native Japanese speaker who speak English fluently, with little trace of an accent.

was it even the Blackbird that was taken? i could have sworn it wasn't even an Xmen's vehicle

when Wizard originally knocked out Havok you were heading to the hanger with the Blackbird, however somehow the Blackbird became Wizard's dad goverment jet. -Not sure how that happened and how Wizard's dad's jet got parked in the X-men hanger but I wasnt arguing cause I wasn't running that thread.

Yeah the plane thing was a bit on the nutsy side.

But then, I was part of that. I kind of figured it was the Blackbird at first but that got changed so I ran with it.

Am I the only one who didn't see this "cat fight" coming?

Dragonrazor... I tried to get you some justice... Atleast I almost got in a scrap with Rogue. ;)
