I have some great writers and we're off to a good start, but I'd love some more people.

Ladies I'm open to hearing any character concepts...

Also I keep making reference to allied aliens. Any human writers want to step up to the challenge and help flesh out a race? It's a big galaxy and I know people have fantasies that aren't always human. So let us know what's on your mind.

Thanks and Save the Empire...

oh yeah

I got a alien for us. I'll post something detailed tomarrow. They are friendly. Very friendly......if you get my drift!

I'd love to see both alien races you come up with.

More adventurers always welcomed!

NEONS-Blue and Yellow or Orange

While all planets have value some stand out more so then others. The planet NEON is one of these special planets. A very secret society. Male Neons are rarely seen. Neon male merchants are concidered in polite society to be just above criminals. To leave the hearth and home was frowned on. A man's place, is next to his woman. The woman went out and made the credits. Men are allowed to work from the home and were urged to do so as soon as the passed their last classes of home schooling.

Neon is home and you better stay home. If you know what is good for you.

Most Neons are shades of yellow or orange. Yellows are not profession entertianers. They are on the younger side 18-22 years old. Yellows are considered travelers or students permited to leave the planet to study away from the home world. Very fun loving, they love fun sex, fun dancing and overall just fun stuff.

The Neons function under very strick laws. Orange neons are domestics and marry at the 'right age' they do the 'right thing'. Male Orange neons don't leave the planet. Well unless they have credits. Very rich males may take jobs as diplomates. The not so rich, well, as merchants. Very few are allowed to travel and those that do are tinted yellow. NONE are blue. They work on the home planet or outer moons. And merchants may not travel beyond the outer moons. The moons are the outer most ring of outposts that they may go. And then only to trade.

And then we come to the 'bad' Neons. The Pros, the offies, the off worlders. The undesirable ones. When they announce, and they must under the law. That they are going to be pofessional entertainer. And they must do so publicly. They are changed bio-chemically to blue. This means they can never go back to their home planet. Because they have sold themselves. They are the ladies of the night, in the galaxy.

Professional Neons make big money 10-12 thousand credits a night. The sex trade pays big. And Neons are in top demand by men from time to time. But its the ladies that pay the most. Two thousand credits a session is average. If they bring their daughters the price can double or triple. So a Neon's time is very exspensive.

A brightly colored caste system....not sure it really fits into my setting though. Perhaps some more "traditional" sci-fi races?

A site I've always found useful.
http://fantasynamegenerators.com/

All you will ever see is 'Blue' neons. Yellows are party girls. Orange girls are the stay home type any way. Neither would come to a battle station anyway. And the "Blues" are interested more in serving the ladies. That is where the money is for them. I've written about Blues and a few Yellows before.

Well I'm willing, but I don't see it. Convince me why I should put them in my universe.

I like the idea brightwell!

Why not put them in the universe? The universe is well the universe sure there would be traditional alien species but the universe is inifnite why wouldn't there exist a planet of brightly colored people? I mean the point of sci fi and fantasy is that we arent necessarily bound by any social norm sure its a little out there but so would a massive battle station city thing right? I mean how cool are they a caste system based on color? exile and forced to turn a specific shade I like it

Bright's idea seems interesting, but I can see, Jawn's point as well as getting stuff approved here first, so everyone isn't suddenly inventing their own races out of the blue with their own rules and such.

Of course I agree but since Jawn did ask for some ideas I think that one is a good idea and cool..... I still have my own to put in which I will later

What I mean to say is I think its cool!

I will think about it and let you all know...feel free to submit any ideas that interest you. If I think they fit I'm open to them. Also encourage friends to join. I like interacting with everyone, but I want all kinds of things going on as well.

Silver kind of hit it. If you want more writers to join you have to think out side the box. If you want to have something special then it HAS to be different. Other wise its just more of the same. This is the place to try something new. I'm all for tradition. BUT. That means its been done before.

And if you want NEW blood, well you have to loosen up the rigns and let writers write!

-And- I read this some where:

Meet interesting people and have sex with them....

I'm not really into this type of storyline, but have been reading along.. It is interesting. :D

There are all kinds of colored aliens out there. Hell, star wreck had a green sexy chick. The fifth element has that blue chick that was singing. Colored alien chicks are really pretty common honestly. I can see it.

It is your story of course, but all the sci fi's out there have some sort of colored alien type deal.

Perhaps they can be used, but let me be clear on one point. This race is key to the plot. They were part of the diplomatic group that came to seek out human help, and they explored and captured the station (granted it was plague ridden when they landed), and also the enemy is on their frontier. I'm just not sure they're at the level of a group would accomplish such things.

Are they....? Otherwise they can be one of the many groups who have come to trade and travel with the station. I never said no, but I was unsure.

Well thank you for reading along....Always nice to hear from fans. I'm not objecting based on color, but I'm not sure about their social structure. I'd like a variety of humanoid aliens.

Their social structure wouldnt really come into play though because if i read it correctly they all stay on the on planet and really how is it any different from a more a typical royal family a caste system is at its heart a caste system people throughout time have judged and labeled people on race and color of skin it's not exactly the same but its pretty darn close

Thanks Silver, though the NEONs tends to be more of a matriarchy, where the women heve the dominate standing.

This race? What race? Neons?

(a group) Sorry KKT Im lost. If your talking about Neons (blues) It would be one at the most 2. They are sex workers that service primarily women. And that would be high end ladies at that. Any male diplomats could come to the station but that would be to recieve trade goods not ship. Though I suppose second and third parties could send thinks. I never looked at Neon (the planet) as an industrial society.

I think your making to many limits on this thing and making it ultimately more complicated then it needs to be the way Brightwell spoke about this made it seem like there would just be a few on the station I dont think he wanted them to be "key to the plot" and while i might or might not be wrong about it I think your putting to much into policing this thing. I mean you did ask us to come up with some creative alien ideas Brightwell more than did that then you say you wanted some more standard ones which I found confusing now your basically changing his idea around.

That's just my opinion on the matter at the very least I think I will pass on continuing in the group thread I hope every one else has fun however and Jawn I wish you luck
