Actually I was trying to find out how it worked. Why not just use massive lake/sea-sized reservoirs for agricultural/recrational purposes? Then they can go through the works, etc. for other uses.

There's 'lakes' of stored water on the inner surface of the sphere in case of emergencies, but the water in general use is always kept moving through the system so as not to leave it stagnant and it becoming breeding grounds for disease, bacteria and parasites which could cause problems for the station's crew adn habitants.

Examination of the water systems in section 23 show signs of stagnation and some of the scientists postulate whether this may have been the initial source of the disease which wiped out the station's previous crew, while others still believe the disease was a bio-engineered weapon introduced to the station as a deliberate attack.

The crew are all from the same clone batch as Kazi, and so all appear identical to her, with a few minor scars and other signs of natural 'wear and tear'.

The Murderbots are Class-12 Death's Head Enforcement Droids, an older model defence drone available from the Cho Hegemony at very reasonable prices to any clients with Empire of Earth military access.

Technically Kazi is already serving the Hegemony as a government official so unless special circumstances occur she would be exempt from military service (during WWII my grandfather was exempt from conscription as he was a postal worker.) However her ship could still be called back for military service unless Kazi could justify keeping it for herself to support ongoing wartime operations.

This is just to let you know that you're in the fight and the leadership back home can reach out and get you into the fight if they need you to be. My hat's off to your grandfather. So many people did important jobs and while they didn't go overseas they did what was necessary to make the country run.

The Cho use personal shielding rather than plate armour so I take it this isn't Cho technology and instead another, unknown alien race's?

You're correct you travel the galaxy you find a lot of interesting items especially on the frontier. The galaxy is old and the empires are young.

I talked to the ambassador rt, she's a friend and she plans to post soon. Just dealing with some illness at home. I'm sure you all way have things to talk about.

As to your other character when I have some time to sit down and do updates I promise you that you'll have some job options along with more details about your living space and a few neighbors.

These were writer suggested names and I like them. I've made a few notes, but otherwise I'm happy and hope people develop such interesting ideas. Sex and violence are a lot more fun in a story with a rich background.

Scout Ships (Small, Medium, Large sizes used for Infiltration/Subversion/Escort)
The little work horses of the galaxy. Patrol, spy, survey, fighter support, bombers, infiltrators, and explorers. Endless configurations and always useful.
Small Scout: Spider, Praying Mantis, Grass Hopper
Medium Scout: Cobra, Rattler, Moccasin
Large Scout: Hammer head, Mako Shark, Bull


Take the fight to the enemy in this small combat craft. Generally light fighters have a crew of one, medium have two, and heavy have three or more. These are general rules though, but more hands more can be accomplished. Robots have also taken up roles in craft operations.

Destroyer (Infiltration/Subversion/Attack)
A fast maneuverable long-endurance warship intended to escort larger vessels in a fleet, convoy or battle group and defend them against smaller powerful short-range attackers. Not much has changed since the blue water navies of the past.
Light Destroyer: Buckley, Nicolas, Trinidy
Medium Destroyer: Dagger, Dirk, Stiletto
Heavy Destroyer:Neptune, Poseidon,Aegir

Escort Ship (highly-powered, heavily-armed warship)
A starship whose primary purpose is to accompany other vessels as a means of protection. Escorts typically protected lesser armed vessels, or vessels carrying an important cargo. Similar to a destroyer, but found in many civilian fleets.
NO light Escorts-
Medium Escorts:Lancers, Knights, Dragoons
Heavy Escorts:Gallions, Frigates, Brigantines

Battleship (Infiltration/Subversion/Attack/Escort)
The large armored warships of the galaxy with impressive weapons systems. It is the only type of ship that cannot fit inside the space station, but can be moored alongside.

No light Battleships-One of the Alien allies does manufacture "pocket battleships"
Medium Battleship: Cruiser, Little State
Heavy Battleship: Monster, Hyper, Super

Well we aren't writing hard science fiction here....I think in one of the "alien gardens" a fresh water lake with a beach would work.

Due to the size of the station, and the need for each section to maintain a viable water supply for both standard operations and occupying populations, it's entirely possible that the 'beach area' would be in another section which is currently either unpopulated or underpopulated.

It'd be similar to having a holiday resort on another island or on a distant part of a continent, with people having to travel out to it in order to enjoy the difference in atmosphere from their usual environment.

Also given the diversity of different races most non-humanoid races, or races from atmospheres other than 'standard' Nitrogen/Oxygen would also exist on different sections of the station where their own atmospheric composition, density, temperature and even gravity requirements could be catered for. While some of these sections would be totally inhospitable to most humanoids, such as the section housing the silicon-based K'lintoki who breath a form of vapourised hydrochloric acid, others would be quite pleasant, such as the section housing the Furrlix, a race of furry felines who believe that their natural coats are all they need for clothing and tend to keep the air balmy and warm, much like the tropical regions on most M-class planets.

I'm guessing it never crosses their mind if I remember what I learned about how lizards have sex given the cloaca and it's orientation. I'm guessing it requires odd body positions in relation to each other so public sex would be inconvenient and obvious.

Just because it's obvious doesn't mean it wouldn't be permitted. It could be that in their society if you met an appealing mate in the street and offered to fuck them up against a nearby wall if would be simply accepted as the proper way to go about the relationship.

Once you'd proven to each other that you were sufficiently sexually compatible you could then move on to the stage of offering gifts of dying vegetable matter and artificial stuffed prey as tokens of your deeper emotional commitment, before fucking the appropriate parent to prove your worthiness to join their family brood.

It also might be a way to make sure you're dealing with the sex of your preference. You can't see the sexual organs from the outside and they wouldn't have mammary glands for that visual cue. Then again, biological cues might be clear to other members within a species. I could see their society evolving either way.

As for having sex with the parents is probably less of a hang up as there is probably higher population density per generation; therefore, it's more likely that you're going to have sex with your extended family in some respect in just a few generations. Having sex with your mate's parents wouldn't seem much more strange.

Well with aliens it's so many different views...even among one species. Syreen females will think nothing of going topless, but many enjoy intimacy only behind closed doors. Human society is developed to be open to the point a gay or lesbian experience barely registers beyond than that's different for them. Like if one enjoyed Coke and for some reason had a Pepsi.

One alien will look at a strip club as an exotic thrill while another will go there and think of it as background as it enjoys the very good waffle bar.

Since the Cho are a clone race, and effectively sterile, sex is done purely for pleasure and is treated in pretty much the same manner as having a good conversation with someone. Public displays of affection, upto and including full sexual intercourse, are seen as harmless and cute in the same way as s loving human couple walking down the street holding hands would be in human society.

More advanced sexual practices, including sodomy, bondage and dominance roleplaying would be kept behind closed doors, as these would still be considered intimate acts to be shared only between chosen partners, however it isn't unheard of to find a young, rebellious couple engaged in anal sex in public when they're trying to shock the older, more conservative Cho. Much in the way some lesbian couples openly flaunt their sexuality in public in the real world, and with the same social impact.
