JC, it would be great to have you back, of course. PM me with any character ideas, and we'll figure out a way to bring you in. And it's been more like 2 years since we last saw Kell or Amy.

I still don't have a computer, so for now, if at all possible, you should be interacting with each other.

Symphony and Roza have been spending a lot of time together over the last year. What do they talk about? Is there any romance there? Do they want to make any plans as to what to do next, where to go?

Nia and Nikki are both affiliated (however loosely) with Hass' Cold Blood opperation. So they could meet at a dojo, at a party, or in the audience of one of the underground fights.

Morgoth, I like your idea for Leos, so go with it. Write whatever you need to for Warp or the crowd. Mandrilman and Troll should both live.

Sorry, sorry! I've got the inter-ma-phone at home again, so I'll be posting and PMing more regulary.

Siren was asking about Hass, and I thought other people might also be wondering what the hell is going on. So . . .

Hass runs the local (Bridges) branch of the Cold Blood, an international Loa-worshipping crime syndicate, based out of Sejeala. Her public front is as a dealer in rare and hybrid orchids. Her criminal business includes control of Bridges' casinos and underground fighting clubs, street sales of the illegal Loa Blood vials, and smuggling guns from Argo into neighboring Svetla (Svetla is a poor continent, with many warring tribes. Everyone knows the major nations and organizations are in the first OOC post, right?)

The Cold Blood and the Killer Bees are enemy crime syndicates. THe Cold Blood uses ninja cultists, and sells Loa Blood because they believe it is the true God, and everyone should get to have some. The Killer Bees use agents with guns, giant robots and high technology, and see the Loa Blood as just another commodity, a way to make money.

Hass and Komodo worship reptiles, because the Loa created early life like dinosaurs, and mammals and humans were an accident. Hass is a rich, intelligent manipulator, a femme fatale. So far, neither her or Komodo has exhibited any Loa Gifts. Komodo is her big ninja bodyguard.

Nikki was sent to Bridges to overthrow Hass and take over the city's underworld, or at least get control of some of the city's crime for the Killer Bees. As Serena Jett, she uses her contacts and influence to smuggle things in and out of Bridges harbor for Hass, and is able to supply a lot of useful information on Hass' business. Mark and his agents use this info to steal shipments from the Cold Blood, undersell them, and bomb their bases and warehouses. This has been going on for a year, but the Cold Blood still control most of the city.

Nikki has also learned that Hass is planning to create some sort of super-weapon, using the gem Komodo stole from the Svetlan noblewoman at the party. She has been importing ancient occult texts, relics and altars from Svetla and Amun, and huge quantities of bizarre ingredients like methane, virgin's hair, and dried crocodile brain. I will post more about the gem tonight IC.

It is important to note that anyone who grew up in Aralia, Argo, Dracon or Sejeala (the north), was raised to believe that magic doesn't exist. The incredible powers of the Loa are scientific, they all have to do with manipulating molecules, not souls.

I need to shut up now.

Okay, I have cool plans for Kell that I've been formulating since Polite reappeared.

Mary isn't intrinsic to them, so no pressure Polite, but it definately WOULD be awesome to have her back (even if you can't get on often -- as long as you're back!), especially since Kell was looking for her before he got amnesia, and now can't really remember who she is (he remembers her name, and that he wants to find her, but not what she looks like), and only gets scattered memories from his dreams.

But his amnesiac condition is cool. It has to do with a failed experiment with a scientist who was helping him seriously develop his powers; they tried to channel his Hand of Destruction in a new way that ended up reversing on him with disastrous results for his brain... of course, they were able to use his Hand of Creation to heal the damage while he remained comatose, but he's lost his memories, bad things have happened to the scientist and his crew, and he can't remember how to use all the neat powers he theoretically developed...

...but at the same time, his personality clings to life, and his brain is Purified. Kell is renewed! He's a freaking handsome anti-hero Zen warrior-monk! Now that he's 19, he's not just a wannabe. Though he still can't throw bolts of destruction. Waaahh. ^_^

His powers are, because of the amnesia, at basically the same level, which is good for me. Though, of course, "the channels have been opened", so he may have an excuse to learn things at a fast pace. Not that I'm going to use that as an excuse for any deus ex machina powers (e.g. "Wait, I remember how to fly through judicious application of Force!"), but I imagine I'm trustworthy on that count. I like making characters with well-rounded abilities, but I tend to get easily bored with super-powered ones.

Anyway! I've been slightly vague on purpose, but I hope this all sounds good to you, ST. Let's see what Polite is up for!

Doh! I got so caught up in my own imagination that I forgot that the people here don't really know who Kell is... ^_^

Kell was a 17 year old whose parents died in a car accident when he was ten; he was staying with his uncle and aunt and had begged them to come himself, so he began to blame himself for the entire incident. His uncle and aunt were both scientists working in a small company, a subdivision of CODA, working with certain applications of Loa Blood. There was a leakage and nobody realized it until too late; Kell's uncle and aunt returned to their apartment and died later that day from sudden onsets of transformations. Kell survived, but fled, pursued and driven near to insanity by the resurface of old memories, combined with extreme guilt, combined with the sudden emergence of strange powers.

(I don't think I ever actually specified any of this, honestly. Though it's been hinted at to various degrees in the story. ^_^)

So, because of his constant internal conflicts, Kell was generally confident in person while constantly second-guessing himself in his mind (I think half my posts were in italics, devoted to Kell yelling at himself and running around in circles, e.g. being angsty, then making fun of himself for being angsty, then making fun of himself for wasting time making fun of himself...). But once he found Mary, someone from his past, he reached out to her, desperate to escape the bottomless pit he was falling into and tried to start over to a degree, forgetting about school for the time being. He was reunited with a good high school friend, Amy, but he continued to stay with Mary -- she was sort of a middle ground, safety from his past while still not being completely seperate from it. Though, of course, Mary had troubles of her own...

Kell's frame of mind developed into powers which he called the Balance Hands -- his right hand emits motes of pure Essence, of creation energy, and his left hand is like a black hole, dissolving anything it comes in contact with. At the time, Kell could only affect matter in his normal state, but when pumped with adrenaline, he was able to temporarily reach the next stage of abilities and occasionally manipulate energies, like when he protected himself by banishing flame in a burning building. So really he's only truly useful as a healer, because his damaging abilities are all close-range, and he has no other close-range advantages.

But he's older now! No bolts of destruction, like I said, but he's mastered creating and destroying both energy and matter -- so stuff like enhanced speed and temporarily boosted strength is within his grasp now, if he's willing to torture his body with the transformations. So that's Kell Claudas.

I'm sure ST would love to have you back, Polite. Apparently we're all in Bridges now, though. Bay City's, like, dead. Amy has taken a year off to work the hospital circuit some more and get some more experience before going into pre-med, I've decided, so I think she'll be around.

So happy to have you back Polite! I really missed writing with you, and hope you can get back into something in Loa Blood. I'm working these days, so I'm not in here as often as I used to be either.

So, first to catch you up on what you've been missing, and then some ideas for where Mary and Faith are now. Long post coming.

It's been about two years since the Crusher destroyed Bay City and was sealed away on Dracon Island under a prototype GAIA force field. Much of the city has been rebuilt (Coda used Kell's power extensively for this), but the struggling city is still under martial law, and plagued by a hive of giant, virally mutating antmen (played by DarkThoughts).

Bridges is a swampy casino canal city east of Bay City. Think Vegas/Venice/New Orleans. Bridges is an Argon city, and the major shipping port to the poor, tribal continent of Svetla.

Just like in Bay City, two gangs are fighting over control of Bridges; the high tech Killer Bees (run by Nikki and Mark), and the ninja cultist Cold Blood (run by Hass). The Cold Blood are running illegal Gifted fight-clubs, and are working on an occult super-weapon using a stolen Svetlan gem.

The current star of the fight circuit is Leos, the Crusher kid, who appears to be only 5 years old, but has the ferocity of the infamous Crusher.

Roza, an ex-exotic dancer for Hass' parties, is now working for GAIA, and covertly trying to rescue the child Leos from Hass' arena.

So that's where we are now. Most of the old characters have been missing for years (except for Nikki! thank you Siren!). As for Faith and Mary, here are my ideas, I'd love to hear yours.

-Faith and Price are still in Bay City, helping to rebuild, and investigating the antmen.
-Faith and Price moved to Bridges, and they are trying to clean up this corrupted, gang-run city.
-Faith went out into the desert ghost towns, to follow Kate Beckett's lead on the Cuckoo mystery.
-Faith's visa expired, or was revoked, and she returned to Locrir.

-Mary started moving again, and lost her memory (fun for Kell!). She could be anywhere.
-Mary got captured by . . . someone (I know who but don't want to say unless you choose this option), and will be a prisoner until Kell and friends can rescue her, or she escapes.
-Mary retained her memories, and has been looking for Kell. Coda has been hiding Kell from her, to make him easier to control.

Ok, here's a thought....

Since it's been two years perhaps Faith DID go out into the desert and got caught and held by what was ever out there, with no way to contact anyone else until her escape...which is now.

Mary thinks Kell is dead, perhaps informed by CODA and began traveling again and got caught up in what ever it is you had planned for her Swampy...with her memory the way it is, she's prob forgotten Kell again, esp since it was painful for her to be settleing into a life with him and then hear he was dead. Nothing so bitter as hopes dashed just as you begin to see them come true. Then Kell can rescue her and we can a very nice "50 First Dates" thing going.

PM me the details on both and we'll wrangle out something that will be, I'm sure, both enteraining and explosive!

So let's see if I can align everything for myself: Kell rebuilt the city for as long as he could stand it, he went missing and CODA decided he must be dead (as Kell doesn't remember what happened, I suppose I can hold off on what specifically caught his attention), he got caught up in something else and tried to get stronger with the help of the scientist guy I mentioned before, mistake happened, and now he's stumbled his way into Bridges as a slightly more subdued person. Or at least spacey...

As soon as everything's sorted out, I'll be ready to post.
