OOC: Loa Blood

The easist way to explain it as an extreme phobia. She is pathologically afraid of being found out as having had been
exposed, as well as deathly fearful of being exposed again.

Okay... I see...

So do you have any ideas as to how Mary can meet the rest of the group? Or would you rather Kell and Mary just go it alone for a while? Because I wouldn't mind that at all, if it's what you want.

so browsing the web I found a picture that reminded me of Sugar...her hair would be shorter with the magenta highlights-or maybe this is pre highlights like right after she was raped and killed her husband *ponders* so this could be early Sugar on the brink of insanity...what did it for me was the far off kinda crazy but all knowing look and the toys around her, it just felt right.

What do you guys think?

Quit being so passive agressive! lol. Kell can take Mary to meet his street friends, and meet up with Sugar Et al and
be introduced, but she will not join the Coda effort. If Kell desides to, then that’s good for Kell. But Mary won’t.
She is planning to ask Kell if he wants to stay at her apt for a time, tho. I need a reason to keep Mary in one form
long enough for memories to be able to surface, and having him stay with her would be a good one. What do YOU
think?

She has nothing against Loa people, in fact, she seems to accept them much more readily than other people (notice
she didn’t blink at Monolith being there, in fact, thought he was handsome). So meeting with Sugar et al will not
bother her at all, and she will be, in fact, quite friendly towards them. Friendlyer than your normal (looking) human.

Passive aggressive? You mean indecisive, right? o_O;;

It's not what I want. I'm trying to think as Kell, and right now, Kell is thinking like a child and an adult at the same time. On one level, he wants someone familiar -- so he might follow Mary around like a baby. On another level, he doesn't want to be with anyone. So, on some level, he's being a bit indecisive. Also, they aren't his "street friends"... he doesn't like them. But it might be a good plot point if we at least met them, if it would help to bring the group together. I assume that's a goal, right? So we can start working together.

As for me personally, I'd just like to have a least a bit of a plan, so I know what Mary is looking for. I don't think you'd be very happy if I just started making decisions assuming that Mary would act certain ways... :p

So, if Mary likes Loa people, and Kell doesn't, then we might have some problems. So, personally, I'm glad we're talking about it. If you think that's being "passive-aggressive" or whatever, well... heh...

Ya, seriously great pic.

Succubus, Price's reply is the last post on page 13. Sorry you missed it, I was wondering why you were neglecting your favorite character. Other news items that might be on Faith's mind include; the gang war between the Sejealans and Aralians, the "Cuckoo" incidents (first the prep-school kidnapping, the same hour as the Dracon Island disaster, and now the asylum break-out), and Argo's recent, shadowy take-over of Marrow Island. Price wouldn't be the best person to ask about Marrow Island, but it is something Faith would be be interested in. The Loa shipments are secret, so Price won't talk about them, otherwise he'll be pretty open with Faith.

Jacobo, Mary, Kell and Monolith could always go to a Sejealan restaurant for breakfast, especially since they're trying to calm Kell down. It might be better, though, for the three of you to just get to know each other at first. Monolith could tell Kell about the Coda job, he can live with Mary and work for Coda (they probably wouldn't really be interested in her anyway, not a great power for security work).

If Ghost and Sugar are left alone to get to know Pol, and the city, then we can skip ahead a few days. It's more believable if everything doesn't happen the same morning! Since Kell knows Pol, there's an easy way to introduce the two groups any time. I'm thinking either the two groups of young people meet each other at the Twelve concert (it's a rock band, related to Mary's mysterious past), or when you're all drawn like moths to the flames of the next disaster. Oops, did i say that part out loud?

Spectral, I'm really glad you tried talking to the enemy before fighting! It's not going to get you very far with this one, but don't let that discourage you from trying again on others.

Awesome... that sounds good. For now, we'll just get everyone together at a breakfast joint, then. Everyone being us three, I mean.

Heh heh, does Kell get to come up with a cool nickname too, like "Monolith"? He probably wouldn't want Coda to know his name... ^_^

Mary views everyone the same, pretty much: Not to be entirely trusted, never to be told the truth, and used as best
needs be. Loa, human, whatever...it’s all the same to her.

Kell presents a unique problem. Someone who remembered her, and fondly enough that he’d kill to give her back her
doll.

The last person Mary trusted and loved she ended up killing to protect her secret. From what you write I would say
that on a very basic level Mary and Kell are very much the same, but comeing to it from totally different angles. Both
with bad memory loss, both hurt on a mental and emtional level, both seeking something but can’t focus enough to
figure out what it is let alone find it. Small differences in that Mary will use others to get what she wants in a
non-aggressive way while Kells passions drive him to destroy what gets in his way.

So where am I going with her? No where. Mary is a peice of jetsom in the tides of time, and has no real plan or goal
for herself, or I for her.

Sprectral, Dex isn't hurt that bad. Your next blast could spray her all over the room, if you wanted. Or the fight could keep going. Whatever.

Don't worry about it, sugar pie, honey childe, sweetie pie.

Your missed when you are gone, but always better when you come back.

Cool, you've skipped ahead. Now get Kell to the point where he's staying with Mary, and going to work for Coda. He would have to tell Monolith about his Gift, and Monolith would tell him about the job. I'm assuming Mary would want to keep her own Gift secret from them.

Ideally, you guys will all be at the next day when Dex and Kryna get back.

Let's say the asylum thing was Tuesday. The meeting at the police station was Wednesday. The Bridges action was Wednesday night. I want to move ahead to late Thursday as soon as possible. The Twelve concert is on the weekend, and the Loa shipment is on Monday.

Ghost and Sugar can spend some downtime wit Pol 'n' the gang. I'll assume that Damien and Nikki have left town to search for Damien's mother.

Amon, just to be clear, Ghost doesn't teleport. He can turn invisible for 10-30 ft. So he still has to open doors, etc. I like that you're keeping up his exhaustion, and that Ghost keeps pushing himself in spite of it.

Do you want Sugar and the gang to find you, or do you want to be on your own for a while? The kids have made it clear that they want to help fulfil your goals, so if you told them about Marrow Island, they could help find the people responsible. It was Argo soldiers who killed Ghost's people, so looking for a nearby military base or government building would make sense. There is a state capital building downtown, and army and navy bases just outside of town. Following streetsigns would get you to any of those places.

I'm really glad I was invited to join this thread!

Ok, guys and gals, if Mary did get exposed, what do you think the next logical step in her gifting would be?

Succubus, I'm really glad you're here too. I'd rather explore what Mary's Gift can already do before expanding it. She'd be great fun at infiltration. If she is going to develop more, what about being able to change her race or gender? Or developing rapid healing? Although she's going to be around Kell a lot, so she wouldn't need it much.

I'd like to see her pulling out more esoteric knowledge. "Oh, that's a marsupial cat. They're native to Amun and are poisonous to eat. How the hell do I know that?"

JC, what the hell does Ph34r mean? If it stands for "Kell is really screwed up", you're dead right. Bonus points for using the word morass. Mmm, more ass.

Ahahahaha! Morass is, indeed, a cool word.

Ph34r, you fool! Like "fear"! It's l33t! 1 r 31337!

*sighs and shakes her head sadly*

Oh, woe to you uneducated populace. So ignorant in the ways of the h4xx0r w0r1d.
