OOC: Loa Blood

Ok, here's my thoughts:

RE: Mary

Because she was at the place and Loa blood was present in a..oh, how do they say...unprotected enviroment...they test her for it to see if she was accidently exposed.

Kell's seen her and is confused by her presence and follows her about until her escape.

After she's tested she overhears the missing gifted/group speech but they think she's a child and so she takes off and is aided by Kell, and she takes him to her place and matures to his age.

They discover that it's not only present in what they've come to exspect as a atypical manner, but has steeped into her DNA to the point where she's not human. This test is completed after she's left, however. (those things take time).

They (she and Kell) deside together what to do.

RE: Alice

I take Alice out of Altered One's and move her here. Quite honestly, I like her and want to play her and Altered Ones was an interesting concept, but no play.

In fact, I'm gonna plagurize myself and just take her first post there and modify it for here. :p becuase I have things planned for her devleopment in my mind I want to continue from the starting point I have.

I'm thinking about changing her name, tho, because this is an alternate earth and I already have a PC with a mundane name.

Is this OK with everyone?

Faith Honai

Race: Born in Locrir, Mother Revan
Occupation: College Student, Journalism
Age: 20
Height: 5 8
Weight 130

Coloring: Untamable black curly hair and green eyes, very slender and fit due to kickboxing classes. (A suggestion by one of her professors who said "A young pretty investagative reporter better be able to take care of herself.")

Faith is new to the current city that hold Price (& et al) on the force. She's a student, but she wants to become a GREAT reporter. Her plans were somewhat upset when, while here on a student visa, (incert dictators name here) invaded and her funds from home were cut off. Not to mention reporters are typically NOT Dictator's best friends. She activly works to free Locrir.

Faith has a few skills that make her job easier such as some lock picking skills, photography, speaks the common langs of the Phrygia contient and ASL (or equivlant) as one of her 5 siblings is deaf.

Faith is from Locrir and has a large upper middle class family who aren't entirely behind her career choice. But from the time she was very young she's wanted to know why things happen, the hidden forces that move the world, and tell others about them.

Now, basically stranded, she struggles to do the best she can on her own, truly, for the frist time in her life.Edited to change, as I misred the Nations posts and had a fellow player invadeing our country. Can we have a dictator name please?

The Locrian dictator's name is Savanti Romero, or Emperor Romero as he prefers to be called.

That reminds me, what's Mary's colouring?

I really like everything that's happening (the monks of Tai-Pal . . . hmmm), and especially that things are not going in the direction I had planned. That's the best theing about role-playing!

I thought I had mentioned Mary was quite fair, with her blonde hair being quite light at younger ages, darking to a deep honey/ash blonde, then lightinging to silver in later age.

Since my Faith is going to be politically active in trying to gain the freedom of her people, any inferneces to the dictatorship is helpful. She's going to be writing colums about it, asking groups like whatever stands for the U.N. and Anmensty International for help, joining peace marches.

Her mother is Revan, and came as a student teacher and married a local man, who is a composer of some international fame. They have five children, with Faith being the thrid oldest (20). I would assume that since the dictatorship is recent her family would be under observation...One parent a forgein nataional and a teacher and one of the offspring out of the country on a student visa to be a reporter...esp when Faith begins her articles.

Sorry, you had mentioned that about her colouring, I'd forgotten. Everything I know about Romero is in Kryna's background, but I'll try to come up with some more details to give you. For now, just come up with some stuff yourself. He's a bad man.

Siren, if you want to have Nikki teleport away, she can.

I'm going out of town so I won't be back to post untill Thursday. When I come back I'll just skip to going to Bridges with Dex.

Soooo, Swampy....

We've been plotting behind your back...and this is what we've come up with. (And yes, my spelling is very bad today.)

Krya is from the same place as Faith and Monolith, right:

Sure, I didn't really have anything thing in mind for their culture, Kryna left when she was 8 and has never been back spent the rest of her life constantly moving from one place to another. So culturally she'll be different. She has multiple ID's and goes by multiple names but I did plan for the typical Locrian last name to end in -airy.

And we were talking about what it was like and stuff there:

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Locrir is a relatively wealthy nation on the continent of Phrygia (which is shaped vaguely like a maple leaf). It takes up one large peninsula of the continent and has a very long history of being a center of trade, commerce and art.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When she was 8 her politically active parents moved the family out of Locrir when they saw that a dictatorial regime was rising to power.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And AB added with the temple (the monks of Tai-Pal)

And you gave us a dictator: The Locrian dictator's name is Savanti Romero, or Emperor Romero as he prefers to be called.

So I mixed this up in my stewpot brain and came up with what I've got below, but if anyone doesn't like it (Esp you Swampy:kiss: ) let me know....

Welcome to beatiful Locrir, where the music is always playing. For many centuries the native people of Locrir have heard the rythem of the nateral world and brought it out in joyous harmoney with singing, dancing, and fabouous works of art. While it is true there has been some political strife, the new Socialist Empire has laid much of this to rest by taking control of the national banking, health care, mass media, and scientific reasearch to give the people a stablity never known before. Always a happy beatiful people the native Locriran's enjoy many benefits includeing free schooling for their children, allotted houseing so no one will be homeless, and other benefits to numerous to mention. Visit the old temples of the Tai-Pal monks, who still worship on lands they've held for tens of centuries, visit our many galleries, cultural museums or native symphanies, or join a street carnival and dance til dawn! There has never been a better time to visit Locrir!~

With the seizure of many of the primary industries of Locrir the so called Emperor remains in power by a system of rewards and punishments which is astounding in it's stublety. The head of nearly every major inporter or exporter company in the country was on Romano's revolunary staff, or funded his rise to power in one way or another. Children are taught a revisionist history and are growing up to believe that the only safe Locrir is one in which their nations leader guides it as a father figure. Many outspoken figures have disappeared, as well as their families, and papers proving they have left the country under no duress given to questioners. However, they still can't be found, regaurdless of the exit visa stamped in their name. If they left the country safely, why are they hiding from those wishing to aid them? Many popular figures who remain in Locrir are closely watched for outspoken behavior against the regieme, and a score of privite colleges and lower schools have been created with scholerships the children of the disstants are not allowed to turn down. Most disturbing is that the scientists most closely involved with Loa Blood research are under house arrest at the known testing facility along with their families. All known Gifted are required to be registered with the state, and many have been pressed into the Empire Army.

Aw Gee....

*blushes*

I figure if Faith is going to be a politcal activist, then we need some poltics. I'm thinking of making her father like a composer or conductor...someone who was being watched, but not bothered due to international fame in some cirlces.

And, FYI, Monolith...Chance, the only son, is the deaf one I"ve desided.

yokay
I'm gonna say Monolith knows her family pretty well, they were engaged for a year before the accident.
So eventually, if Faith hangs around his rocky butt she's gonna figure out who he is

a whack upside the head

Okay, I maybe should have made this clear. There is no metahuman samaritan act (although that's a great name, and once there is, that's what it will be called). Gifted are still incredibly new and rare, and, here's the important part: you guys are the first superheroes. That means the law has no precedents for dealing with superheroes, and deals with metahumans as though they were human. Later on those laws will change, mostly as a result of your actions.

For now, the law reacts to you just as it it would to any person who was, say disfigured so his identity isn't immediately obvious. He keeps showing up at crime scenes. He's helpful, but he sometimes breaks things, and whenever you ask him to identify himself, he runs away. In our world, he would be arrested. He says he wants to help, they tell him to join the police force, or help in any number of officially sanctioned ways.

As for the damage to the roadways, Abraxas, your earlier post said that you left the asylum scene in a series of superleaps. Within minutes you were 5 miles away, and you didn't do that by walking. Those leaps would damage either the roads or the buildings you were landing on. And what's more, since that happened after you left the asylum, that wasn't property damage caused while helping to save lives, but caused while fleeing from the police to protect your identity.

If you want to continue to keep Monolith's identity a secret, go ahead. But the police aren't going to like it and there's no legal reason why they should let him. His "amnesia" response would lead to being arrested anyway, while they performed a psychiatric evaluation and researched into past sightings of the (formerly) 6-ft tall stone man. Again, in our world, no one could get off by telling the cops they didn't know their name. If this is the way you want to play him, he's going to be a fugitive.

If you give the Chief your name, privately, he'd find out you were a good cop, and the Coda job would cover any fines for your destructive behaviour. Monolith has no living family to protect, and no sordid past to hide. I don't understand why he's so obsessed with keeping his past identity secret.

Okay, so please edit your post. No metahuman samaritan act, and you did trash some public property.

Democable, I have no problem with you guys writing lines for the NPCs (things would move really slowly otherwise), as long as they behave in a neutral fashion, or consistently with the behaviour I introduced them with. I'd prefer if you didn't make the NPCs do things out of left field like Dumar's offer to protect Nikki. It saves you, the PCs, from coming up with solutions to your problems. For now, lets leave it, and say Damien telepathically asked his father to intervene (which is the only reason I can think of why the King should care what happens to this girl).

Sorry if anyone thinks I'm being unfair or a tyrant, but this is the way I want to run the thread. I love what everyone's been doing so far, and I hope everybody sticks around.

Succubus, the extra background on Locrir is great.

Amon, are you still with us?

Good. How does Ghost react to Sugar's mental assault? What memories of his did it cause her to share? Does he track her?

still trying to figure out if she wanted to see some of my memories or not, and yes i was going to track her

Hey Swampy sorry for that one, but i wonted to do something with Dumar that's all. i figured he saw the way She was reacting to Damien and knew away he could try to keep Damien in check for a while. that's all, but will go your way.

ok, i re-did my post.
I go in to work in a few hours, so if I need to do some more editing, PM me
(plus I got some idea's I want to run by you anyway)

Thanks Abraxas.

I'm also going to be out of touch until Thrsday. If you could all keep each other busy until then?

Mary and Kell should have a lot to talk about, same with Nikki and Damien.

Ghost and Sugar will need to find a place to stay and will eventually need to eat. They may (or may not) realize that, while they were informally released from the asylum, since they didn't stick around to complete the paperwork, or talk to the police, they are probably both wanted. Sugar, at least, would still be wanted for assaulting the police officers and interfering with their job.

Hope can give Price a list of questions, and then go talk to Monolith. I'll answer any questions you can't when I get back.

Dex can ask Thorne some questions, go with a silent Kryna to meet her pilot friend, or get in touch with his bosses in Reva. I'm sure they'll be happy to learn that their "oversees correspondent", the photographer who doesn't need a camera, has infiltrated Coda Corp. security.

If you PM me with your responses to Hope, I can edit them into my space so that it doesn't get all jerky in the flow.

Meanwhile, I'll try to catch up to Mono, but you know what? He's got a lot longer legs than one little girl!

Okay, I'm back in the game. :D I hope Kell's ability to notice that there's something strange about Monolith despite his disturbing size isn't unfair or anything -- but I came up with a fairly good explanation for it, just in case...

Kell's Balance Hands give him a better sense of when things become unbalanced. He is better able to sense motives or sense levels of power than normal, though he has no psychic abilities of any kind. If, for some reason, his Balance Hands are non-functional or he's too tired to use them, this ability is gone too. His energies also have to be manifested (i.e. the normal-looking yet noticably frequent dust motes) in order to be tuned in.

It's nothing really special, and it's not even a sixth sense per se. Kell's just a little crazy, so he can see things that completely sane people can't. In my post, he "smelled God", but it wasn't really his sense of smell -- it was just his interpretation of the strange feeling that came over him, because of Monolith's Loa Blood.

I have some ideas for advanced powers that Kell can acquire later, such as using both Creation and Destruction hands to acquire Shiva's third domain, Purification. Instead of burning away and recreating things, Kell can directly repair or refine things by burning away the abnormalities and restoring the object to mint condition. This also allows for minor poison healing and disease healing abilities, but the victim -- er, subject -- will probably pass out or at least scream horribly when this ability is used on them, because it's basically burning away flesh and then putting back better flesh. And, of course, it takes just as long as his other abilities.

The whole point of Kell's abilities is that at some point he will become convinced that he's some sort of creator god, and that his abilities will allow him to do anything he wants when he becomes more powerful -- envisioning long-range bolts of healing or elemental power, or even bolts of pure annihilating void. He will no doubt find, however, that he is deluded... ^_^

I hope so. Hahaha, maybe ST will even want to employ him as a villain later on. ^_^ He certainly is twisted enough, at least at this point. The right style of sane insanity, you know? Bahaha.

i'd say at a later time he would make one hell of a villan
(AKA Apocolaypse, except he does his changes externally)
