OOC: Portal to Adventure

No!

you needn't re-post your character data. I'll take care of that for you, if I decide to repeat the info in a more readable spot.

wheeeeeeeeeeeeee!! Toku's back too! I'm glad that we all didn't just up and abandon the story, cause it's got great potential. I know I'm guilty of straying as well, but we just tonight put in a bid on a house we like and if it's accepted, we won't be spending every waking moment trying to find one anymore!

It's good to see you all here! :D

Angelius!

I've tried to email you about my plan to get you in the thread, but I'm not sure if you got it. Could you please email me, or Message me at Neale42 (AOL/Netscape) or NealeH42 (MSNMessenger), if you haven't gotten an email from me?

Everyone else... tomorrow, I start some interesting times... :)

Please don't kill me...I'm going out of town early on Thursday and I won't be back 'til Sunday.

Can I still play? If not, I'll understand, but I'd really like to stay in...maybe Angelius's char can kidnap me lol!

Lady Celestiale

Of course you can stay in! You've stuck with this thread through a long dry spell, and I'm not about to kill you off just because you have a Real Life... ;)

See you when you get back, hon! Have a great time!

Okay... here we go!

I'm about to post the part where we encounter Angelius' character. Just to let everyone know, for specific reasons, detection spells will reveal that everything is perfectly normal with his character. No evil bastard here! I've been unable to get up with Angelius, so I'm going a bit out on a limb with posting some stuff involving his character. Angelius, if anything in my post isn't cool with you, just say the word, and I'll do a rewrite on the spot.

Specific reasons like, If Tyr were to tap me on the shoulder and say: "See that guy right there? He's EVIL " and I were to try and spit him like a roasting pig, there'd be no dramatic tension? Those kinds of specific reasons?

sigh.

sorry about the sarcasm.

Silly boy... ;)

More like, he knows damn good and well that there will be at least one character who can detect alignment, and will have taken steps to neutralize that little detail. Otherwise, the entire concept of his infiltration would be rendered null and void.

Sorry about that people. I know that I am meant to be the bad guy here, sorry that I haven't been around but just needed to get a few things out of the way first. But I am back and all I can say is the bad man is ready to play.

its getting good! looks like we gonna get to tangle with sum undead! ^_^ hmmm id just liek to state! i hate ghouls! eheh ^_^ once when i played, they turned my entire party, excluding my friend playing as a lvl 2 mage. what can i say.. 5 guys agasint 25 ghouls... it was bound to happen! lol

leaving........for a few days

Sorry guys, but I'll be in the hospital for the next few days, I hope to be back monday but nothing is for sure, except te fact I EVENTUALLY will come back ofcourse ;).
So my deepest apolagies.......
Love..
Toku

Indeed. Get well.

aaaaaannd... time for me to give Neale a report on the most recent D&D release: The Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting! This thing kicks some severe arse! It's laid out in a nice friendly manner, explains all kinds of little things that used to drive me nuts in the old boxed set, and best of all, more character creation rules, new feats (even some specific to regions, like Cormyr), and write-ups for all your favorite NPC's and Villains. Don't worry, I won't post a re-re-revised character here, but if anyone wants it, just e-mail me.:p

oh, and I found out how my local dealers get the stuff first. They're on some kind of "preferred distributor" program with TSR/Wizards.

Old news, bubba...

I camped the hobby shop the day it went on sale. The owner had showed to me the night before, but he was legally barred from selling it until the next day. So... I sat there for a while, reading 'my' copy, and left it there to buy that next morning! You are right... it rocks!

Sorry all

I actually don't mean to be this nasty in the thread but I am starting to enjoy myself.... I actually love being this nasty and evil.

Gooooo... Bad Guy!

IMHO, the nastier the villain, the more opportunity we have to shine as heroes! And, boy, are you giving us some serious shine-time!

Actually, one thing is ticking me off a little..

Goldberg, I mean "Strahd", really should "sell somebody's moves", here. We're not a bunch of jobbers in a dark match; from whay I gathered coming into this post, we're all main-eventers in our own right, let alone as a group, and this guy's done everything short of painting a big red and yellow "S" on his chest, not letting anything like an attack anywhere near him, victimizing us at whim. Any one of us could write our characters as invincible, but it starts losing its credibility fast.

I'm not outright pissed yet, but I'm getting there rapidly.

I'm also not saying "Strahd" should just up and get his ass kicked either. But if this thing was intended as a non-lethal diversion to work Bain into this group, introducing a "Counter everything you've got and hit you where it hurts" super-vampire into the mix wasn't the best way to go about it.

Fromt he real game, Vampires are strong yes! near form invicible htough. They cna EASIly be hit! only problem is they can regernate by suckign health from others. Vampires arent nearly as strong as this one has been made to be.(the ones in this game

Vampires are BLAH!

Okay...........I give up.......:)..................vampire are no fun

Angelius, If you read the OOC thread so far, you'll know Kyle is the equal of a vampire in terms of physical strength, and close in terms of resistances and toughness. This is either an epic battle to the end, or "Strahd" sneaks away to lick his wounds. One other note: . I know we're not sticking to D&D rules here, but I thought it'd be nice to bring a huge bite off of a reality sandwich to our vampiric friend, here. Kyle channels the power of Tyr into her attacks, doing a minimum of the full hit point total of a "basic" vampire from the game on a successfull hit. And it's holy damage, so a vampire's normal damage resistance is useless against it.

Sigh...

Guys, calm down a bit, willya? Okay, so Strahd is a very nasty vamp... So? By standard rules of conduct for Lit, he can't actually kill anyone, and he can't do any damage that Alia can't fix.

Also, as I pointed out to Angelius, under the new rules, vamps are a lot tougher than they used to be, especially if you give them character class abilities as well. Theoretically, this could be a vamp with several levels in Fighter as well as Mage, making him drastically tougher than the good old 18/00 vamp who needed magic weapons to be hit.

Our paladin friend is quite capable of kicking the crap out of this vampire, as is Alia, and very likely Alyar. Even the mages could probably toast him, given a clear shot and time.

There are plot-important reasons for this particular vamp to be so nasty, and I implore you to let the story unfold. Angelius is working closely with me to ensure that the bounds of 'realism' are maintained :)
