Our Honorable Democrat Mayor Here In San Diego

How stupid is it to argue whether Republicans or Democrats are more pathetic or morally corrupt? Vetteman, you have outdone yourself with this moronic thread.

Cain has never held a political office and the allegations against him were never proven. They appear to have been mud slinging when he was running for pres.

Not one, not two, not three, but four women came forward alleging affairs, one said her affair with Herman the Chick Magent went on for 13 years.

Cain, who briefly led President Obama in the polls, dropped out of the race a week later.

You figure it out.

On second thought, get someone to explain it to you, you stupid son of a bitch.

Well, the difference is that the Pubs, unlike the Dems, are in principle dedicated to pathetic moral corruption. The interesting debate is whether they consistently live up to that ideal. I am confident that they do most of the time, and occasional lapses may be forgiven.

But did they accuse him of sexual harassment, which is the subject of this thread?

As far as I see it, politicians are in a position to have affairs, and many of them take advantage of this. But only a few commit sexual harassment against their staff or employees.

Show me a comparable case involving a republican where he got away with it for years and then failed to resign when caught.

They didn't call it "sexual harassment" for most of his career, but Strom Thurmond was known as pretty much a pervert. Of course, he had bigger moral failings than just grab-assing.

Dosen't San Diego have a long and distinguished history of Republican mayors being Indicted?

The one I remember is Roger Hedgecock, who is known for 3 things:

1. Corruption in office
2. Following in the footsteps of the likes of Gordon Liddy and going into talk radio after his disgrace
3. Getting out of the draft in the Vietnam era due to acne, an even worse excuse than Rush Limbaugh's

I haven't made it a point to follow this controversy too closely, but what I've heard doesn't sound good. There are too many credible accounts and not much in the way of a defense. I can't imagine he'll be able to hang on to his job.

You do know Strom Thurmond was a Dem. for most of his political career, don't you?

Yes. I meant to say that he was a pervert only during the time he was a Democrat, only to repent of his sins and live a life of Godly virtue after converting to the Republican party in which he spent just under half his adult life. How could I be so careless?

Here is a timeline which gives some details, but not enough.

Tells his female employees to come to work without any panties on and occasionally dips his paws into their bras...all of them scared shitless of him. Like a big Cheshire cat in fantasyland, he can grin. I suspect it will be short lived.

I cant fathom why any Democrat is upset by the scandal, there must be more to it; is Gloria Allred upset because Mr. Mayor left her alone?

What an asinine statement. You're on a roll lately.

Are you deliberately trying to sound stupid?

They are POLITICIANS.

It comes off as if Vetteman doesn't really object to the behavior, but just sees it as another opportunity for partisan mudslinging. Orfeo did a great job of spiking that outrageous lie about the probable reaction of a Republican.

BTW, claiming he would have resigned is not much of a claim to moral superiority. A morally superior person would not have done it in the first place.

You can find no end of examples of this kind of behavior from politicians of every party, and of independents as well.

Who was it that said "I am not a politician, and my other habits are good also." ?
