I'm not sure there's much that can be done, if he refuses to go. He hasn't been charged with any crimes. I have no idea if San Diego has a process for removing someone from elected office just for being a scumbag, but I assume not since Filner would seem to meet the criteria and he's still there.

From what I've read about him, he could be charged with sexual battery. That might not get him impeached, but it would probably lead to a recall election.

Here's the deal, bozo. WHY didn't anyone say anything for the past twenty years? Where were all these people accusing him when he was running for mayor? That Wiener even contemplated a political return.is indicative of the state of politics as a whole, regardless of party..If Republican men talk about family values and protecting women's health while Democratic men talk about helping the vulnerable and protecting women's health, yet screw around on.their wives or force themselves on women, it doesn't look good for either party. And then for men of either side to act like their side is clean is pure bullshit. Women will vote for the party whose platform best represents their beliefs, the same as men do. Talking about free passes, isn't that what the former governor of South Carolina got when he returned to politics. Geeze. I hear he's still talking family values too.

A lot of the time elected officials are falsely accused of sexual harassment or having an extra-marital affair because the powers that be want them ousted from office for whatever reason.
