Our regularly scheduled update..

Son of a bitch. I'm so sorry to hear that. Whisper probably doesn't remember, but she was exceedingly kind to me when I was a gauche and blundering newbie in the AH and softened the blow of a couple of childish faux pas I committed.

Will you give her my best Raphy?

The Earl

Thank you for all your well wishes, folks, both from those of you that know us and those that don't. I certainly will, Earl. And rest assured, she does remember that. She has a mind like a razor.

I found out the latest news when I spoke with the oncologist this afternoon. She has level 4 breast cancer that has metastasized into her bones. It is treatable but uncurable, which is a nice way of saying we can't cure you, but we can make your quality of life significantly better in the time you have left.

Don't ask me how much that is; they can't say, but I'm told that it's measured in years, not months or days.

Now I just want her to get home so that we can start living our life to the fullest. Always remember this folks -

Don't think you have time to live. Live in the time you have.

My friend lived 5 years... same situation--breast cancer that metastasized to her bones. She did alternative treatments as well as the mainstream ones and up until the very end, she was really very "healthy" for a cancer patient. Dr's were shocked by how little pain she was experiencing until the very very end (god I hope this is heartening and not painful to hear?) You might want to think about alternative treatments too... diet is especially important.

all my love to you both...

and this song... it was written about Ken Wilbur's wife by Stuart Davis, when she had cancer... it makes me cry, but it's so beautiful... It's called Swim There's a free download there...

:rose:

All my love to you both... :rose:

Be strong Whisp...there's a shortage of people of your quality on this planet.

Nice to see you Raphy. Sorry it's under such circumstances. :rose: I wish you and Whisp all the best.

hiyas raphy! *hugs* to you both.
my thoughts on the matter are:
if there were two people on this earth who could make the most of a shit situation, its you and whisp.
im sending huge heaing vibes and tons of positive thoughts to the both of you. :rose:

My best wishes to both of you and I add my voice to SelenaKittyn's in saying that alternative treatments added to conventional ones can help tremendously. Best wishes. :rose:

Please give Whisp my promise of good, positive thoughts, Raphy. You two were the first Litsters to become a successful couple that I was lucky enough to make an acquaintance with. I still thrill to know that you are as in love today as you were then, it's a marvellous thought to carry with you; knowing that there is someone who will always be a part of your heart.

My wish is for you to have as much time together as a life can hold.
May love find a welcome rest inside your hearts.
Should sadness find you, I pray it finds you too much in love to give it notice.

Be well, please pm if there's anything I can do.

Raphy & Whisp...I remember when y'all two got together...I am so sorry. Strength and peace to you. I agree that when it gets to State IV, it's not a good lookout, but on the other hand, if you can stretch your time out to years, who knows what they'll have come up with? All sorts of things they're doing now, were unheard of just a few years ago. Best wishes for both of you.

:rose: :rose: :rose:

*hugs and kisses* to you both, you're in my prayers. :rose: I'll keep you there regularly. take care.

Oh Raphy, I don't know what to say. :( I'll think of you and whisper. Please keep us updated on everything. *HUGE HUGS TO YOU BOTH*

Hey all, here's a quick update.

She has had vertebroplasty and a total hip replacement in her right hip. She is doing much better and is significantly more mobile and in far less pain than she was 3 weeks ago. She'll be coming home tonight or tomorrow so she'll be able to read all of your responses and see all of your candles.

They'll probably make her cry. But in a good way ;)
