Funny you should say that ....

(In typically humble whisp fashion, she hasn't mentioned that every single nurse and doctor that looked after her spoiled and doted on her and pretty much all said that she was one of their favorite patients to look after.)

So, she's in the hospital... And she's talking to one of her palliative care docs, who are kinda like a cross between social workers and counselors. Doctors for the soul, not just the body. They're not supposed to have favorites, but one of them confessed that whisp was one of their favorites because, and I quote, she's "easy to love"

So... She tells me and of course, being who I am, I run home and write this:

Easy To Love
-----------------

She's the one that I was needing
She makes me a better man
She's the truth that I believe in
She's the one that says I can
She's my sunshine on the darkest day
She's my angel from above
She makes livin' my life easy
'Cause she's easy to love

She's got arms that are always open
She's always ready with a smile
She can fix me when I'm broken
She gives me strength for my next mile
She don't judge me when I've been a fool
She's the one that I'm proud of
She makes livin' my life easy
'Cause she's easy to love

Yeah, it's easy to hold her tight
And it's easy kissin' her goodnight
It's easy to make the right choice
When I hear her voice

She's my alpha and omega
She's my beginning and my end
I could not wish for someone greater
She's my lover, my best friend
She's the dream I dream when I drift away
And my strength when times are tough
She makes livin' my life easy
'Cause she's easy to love

When I get into work I'll post the mp3 for y'all..

That's really really lovely. I can't always get into other people's writing straight away, but that was so straightforward and truthful it just... :)
I'll sound insincere if I say any more, but know I'm thinking it.

I didn't mention it because I don't think about it, because I'm so used to being spoiled and doted on. I mean, look at the sweet things my husband still writes about me two weeks before our third anniversary. After three years, he still spoils me rotten! (And I love it ;) )

Whisp :rose:

You've got a good one there, sweetie.

Keep strong. <hugs>

Okay y'all, here you go.

Please bear in mind that this was done as a one-take one-shot wonder. There's no reverb, no effects, no extra tracking. Just me, my six-string and a microphone.

Raw.

Thanks for sharing this, raphy. And thank you both for sharing your selves with us.

It certainly makes me reevaluate how I'm spending my time. :rose:

Hey y'all, just dropping by for a quick update..

Happy to report things are going really well.

From a long term perspective.. Well, who can say? She's just had her third chemo session, and the oncology docs seem to be happy with her progress, but with this sort of thing you're always aware that you're on borrowed time - But then, aren't we all?

However, from a day-to-day perspective (which, let's face it, is the important one) .. The hip replacement seems to have settled in nicely, and whisp's mobility is up as significantly as her pain is down - She's now able to walk a few steps unassisted and she can go charging around the house on her walker, if needed.

Y'know, it's funny how the little things make you smile after something like this. The ability to eat a nice juicy steak without throwing it up right away. Being able to stand up to get a hug instead of always getting awkward ones sitting in a chair. Any time that you can laugh or smile, even at the smallest or silliest thing. Getting an unexpected call or a visit from a friend who just dropped by to see how you are.

I hope that all of you and yours are well, and whisp and I thank you for all of your best wishes and prayers.

I know about the little things. I recently recovered from a coma and the simple task of being able to brush my own hair was impossible for me. The first time I stood up on my own or the first time I brushed my own hair I recall seeing my brother with tears in his eyes and a smile on his face.

Please give her my love and prayers. :rose:  :rose:
