raphy said:Hey all, here's a quick update.
She has had vertebroplasty and a total hip replacement in her right hip. She is doing much better and is significantly more mobile and in far less pain than she was 3 weeks ago. She'll be coming home tonight or tomorrow so she'll be able to read all of your responses and see all of your candles.
They'll probably make her cry. But in a good way![]()

whispering_surrender said:I wanted to thank everyone for their kind thoughts and prayers while I was in the hospital. Raphy has kept me updated on everything you all have been posting and the candles. The truth is, I haven't replied since I got home because every time I read this thread, I started to cry at what wonderful and caring friends we have. Smiler My heart was warmed by the kind thoughts of both those of you who knew me and those of you who just have enough love in your hearts to care for people you have only heard about. And to those of you who thought I "might not remember", rest assured, I certainly do remember you.![]()
As an update, I'm feeling much better. I'm getting better and better on my titanium bone laced hip Wink each day. I still use the wheelchair for longer distances and if we leave the house, but use the walker for shorter distances in the house. On Thursday I go in and find out what my chemotherapy schedule will be. We'll be doing a combination of chemotherapy and hormone replacement therapy that will hopefully, if not kill the cancer, at least stop its progression so I can live my life. Smiler
Thanks again for everything and I will keep y'all updated on how things are going.

raphy said:Funny you should say that ....
(In typically humble whisp fashion, she hasn't mentioned that every single nurse and doctor that looked after her spoiled and doted on her and pretty much all said that she was one of their favorite patients to look after.)
So, she's in the hospital... And she's talking to one of her palliative care docs, who are kinda like a cross between social workers and counselors. Doctors for the soul, not just the body. They're not supposed to have favorites, but one of them confessed that whisp was one of their favorites because, and I quote, she's "easy to love"
So... She tells me and of course, being who I am, I run home and write this:
Easy To Love
-----------------
She's the one that I was needing
She makes me a better man
She's the truth that I believe in
She's the one that says I can
She's my sunshine on the darkest day
She's my angel from above
She makes livin' my life easy
'Cause she's easy to love
She's got arms that are always open
She's always ready with a smile
She can fix me when I'm broken
She gives me strength for my next mile
She don't judge me when I've been a fool
She's the one that I'm proud of
She makes livin' my life easy
'Cause she's easy to love
Yeah, it's easy to hold her tight
And it's easy kissin' her goodnight
It's easy to make the right choice
When I hear her voice
She's my alpha and omega
She's my beginning and my end
I could not wish for someone greater
She's my lover, my best friend
She's the dream I dream when I drift away
And my strength when times are tough
She makes livin' my life easy
'Cause she's easy to love
--
When I get into work I'll post the mp3 for y'all..
