Outlaws

Daphne

I laughed at his double meanings. His sense of humor was refreshing after Charle's sour attitude. Looking down at my white sleeveless Tshirt I grimaced.

"Let me go change into something that wont show up grease too well and I will meet you in your work area inside of ten minutes. Dont start the fun without me," Giving him a wink and a smile, I headed for my room and a change of clothing.

On my way I passed Mad Dog and let him know I found Corywn and was helping him get ready for the morning. After which I made it into my room and begin to strip off my usual clothing and put on a black Tshirt that reached just above my naval and some tattered jeans that I used when cleaning and sharpening my weapons.

Making my way back to his work room I looked around and realized he hadnt made it back yet. Probably checking out parts. Sitting down on one of his chairs, I lit another cigarette and waited for him. "If I dont quit soon I these things are going to kill me," I thought to myself and then laughed. Considering my way of life the cancer sticks were the least of my problems.

Cheyenne

I couldn’t sleep. The air was too humid and the unfamiliar noises kept sleep at bay, and for once, I was too tired to fight off the memories. They all seemed to bombard me at once, taking over my every thought.

I saw my father dying, telling me that I was to live with an uncle that I had never met. He had begged me not to argue with him, and that it was for the best. I just shook my head and agreed that I wouldn’t, and then told him I loved him and I left the room crying. That was the last time I ever saw my father alive.

My uncle arrived that night, and when he looked at me, I could see the resentment. He didn’t want me. I knew then that living in his house would be hard. And it was.

Then the day of the asteroid came. The news warned us that it was coming. My uncle searched desperately for a way for his family to live. We had no shelter, no safe place to hide. But an associate of my uncle’s did. That’s when I overheard the conversation that would turn my life into a living hell.

“My family needs to go on, if not for all, then at least for my sons Pietro and Raphael. They are too young to die like this.”

“What do I get in return, Lorenzo? Money may not matter after all of this is over.”

“I will give you my niece. She is pretty enough and she should warm your bed quite nicely.”

“You are a cruel man Lorenzo, to barter your niece off like cattle. Doesn’t she mean anything to you?”

“She means nothing to me. If it wasn’t for the money, I would never have taken her in.”

The bargain was sealed as I stood there, completely numb on the inside. My uncle had sold me into slavery so his two sons could live. I closed my eyes and shut out the memories of what that evil man had done to me. I had to move on. What doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger.

I pulled the old blanket up over my body and somehow found sleep.

Charles

I looked down at the completed headsets with a smile. I had finished them ahead of schedule and needed to take a break as I had been doing something nearly all day. I walked out of my workshop and again cursed Robert for shooting me as it still acted although it was almost healed. As soon as I left the workshop I saw that the place looked like a ghost town and decided to go topside as I needed some fresh air, well about as fresh as it got up there. As soon as I got out into the open I took a deep breath and as I let it out felt every bad feeling that I had go with it. I then looked around and smiled, this is why I loved being out here and part of Mad Dog's gang.

Corwyn

I chuckled again and shook my head, "I wouldn't think of starting without you. I couldn't possibly have as much fun by myself." Turning and walking off I made my way towards Charles' workshop, seeing as that's where most if not all of the spare parts were kept.

I nodded to Charles as he may his way up to the surface for some fresh air. Stepping into his workshop I noted the completed headsets but left them alone since I had something else to get. It only took me a few minutes to find the parts I was looking for and start back for my room/workspace.

As I stepped inside I couldn't help but pause to look Daphne over. Letting out a low whistle I smiled, "Very, very nice, Daph. I may have to see about having you in here to help me more often."

Daphne

I laughed and stood up to streatch. "Quite a compliment seeing that I havent done any work yet. But I'm glad you approve of my work clothes. Now, where do we start, I'm all yours."

Giving him a wink at the last of my statement, I give a low, throaty laugh before turning and surveying the pieces places all over the floor that were his bike.

"Hummm...looks like we have quite a job in front of us. Lets get started. What was the problem this time?"

Mad Dog

Reaching my quarters, I sit down at the make shift desk and start making a map. After I chart the area, I make a list of the main escape route and several back up routes. In this line of work, you can never be to careful.

I awake, to the sounds of the mornings activities. I grab a bite to eat before getting ready and inspecting my stuff once again, I always triple check my equipment one error could be disasterous for the group.

Cheyenne

I was up before sunrise. I had to find a town to get supplies. Maybe even find a truck. I knew that the jewelry I had taken would bring a pretty good profit if I could find someone who was interested. Gold was surprisingly rare. I went through my suitcases, throwing out things that were too much to carry and that I could do without. Then I started stuffing them in a duffle bag I had found in an old box. Suitcases were too hard to carry on a Harley.

I strapped the bag on the bike and then headed off in search of a town. Within an hour, I had found it.

“Not all that big.” I muttered to myself as I stared down the main drag. The town only had one store, a bank, a gas station and thankfully, a pawnshop. Motels and Bars made up the most of the town. I parked my bike next to the sidewalk then headed into the pawnshop.

It took over an hour for the man at the pawnshop to give me an acceptable offer. But I walked away with a pretty good amount. I only sold a few pieces. I didn’t know where I was going so I saved some of it back for later.

Now I was off to the store to get a gun, some arrows for my newly acquired crossbow and maybe a knife.

I watch Daphne stretch after getting up and smirk when she implies she's all mine. Turning to the pices on the floor I step closer to Daph. "It's a cracked piston this time, sometimes Mad Dog just has us push our bikes too hard." I shake my head and set down the parts I picked up earlier.

Knowing I probably shouldn't I reach out a trail a few fingers over the exposed flesh of Daph's side anyway. "It shouldn't take too long to put back together now that I've got some help." I wink, "After that you're certainly welcome to crash here."

Daphne

I chose not to react to Cor's forwardness in caressing my skin. Actually it felt kind of nice. It had been awhile since I had anyone touch me in that way. I guess I kind of intimidated but that was how I survived.

I shook my head and grinned at his offer. "I bet," I said to him, sarcasm in my voice. Then I looked over at him and I begin to reconsider my callous attitude. He was kind of handsome and, of all of those in the gang, he was the one who showed me the most acceptance. "Dammit,"I thought to myself,"You're listening to your lonliness, not your brain." But the thought stuck.

Clearing my throat, I said a bit more gently,"Lets get your bike together and then get some sleep. Mad Dog is going to want us refreshed and ready to go in the morning and that is only a few hours away." Reaching out to run a finger along his cheekline, I added,"I might take you up on that offer later on. As soon as we get out of this next one alive."

Forcing my thoughts away from him, I tried to concentrate on the task before us. True to his word, it didnt take us long and soon we had her purring. I smiled at his obvious joy and couldnt help but lean in and brush his lips with mine before telling him to get to sleep and going to my own room. I cant say that I got much sleep before it was time to get up and get ready for our next mission.

Dressing in my usual sleeveless white shirt and black leather pants, I picked up my jacket and helmet and headed out to where Mad Dog was already going through the equiptment. "Morning, Chief," I said as I made my way to the canteen for something to eat and tried to get out of my mind what I had passed up with Cor last night.

danielle

The other man could be seen through his window. I halted, I pulled off my leather gloves, shoving them in my back pocket, I put my hands on my hips and narrowed my eyes.

I stared at the other man. "You want trouble?" I asked him quietly. The damn grin on his face. I wanted to smack him.

"Look, gimme ten minutes, I gotta pack up, then meet me in the town center. I have some business ends to tie up. "

I hauled it to my quarters, I threw open a humungous duffle bag and threw in the necessities. Including every weapon I could muster.

It consisted of less than 10 pieces. I shrugged. I have managed to survive so far.

Cheyenne

I walked across the street to the town's only store. The red neon 'open' sign was rather dim compared to the blaring sunlight. The weathered sign read Holloway's . I was told by the pawnbroker across the street that this was the best place to get weapons and ammo for miles.

I pulled open the door and walked inside. It took a few moments for my eyes to adjust to the different lighting. The store didn't carry much, but what it did have was of great quality. I walked quickly over to the weapons and carefully began choosing what I would need.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the door to the shop open. My body tensed. I thought they had found me. My breath seemed to catch in my throat. I kept looking frantically at the door.

My body relaxed as I saw a young woman walk through the door.

I went back to examining the guns again. Trying to calm down as I did so.

Aaria Flynn

Walking into the gun shop was one of the hardest things Aaria ever had to do. Even burying her own mother seemed like a walk in the park compared to this. Her father had taught her that guns and violence were not the answer, but trying to talk while others stole the food they were trying to grow for the community just didn't sit well with her. It was her decision to get a gun, to protect what they have worked so hard to build.

Looking around the store, Aaria got so confused about what she was seeing. Guns of all sizes and shapes. Arrows and bows, even a couple of grenades. How was she ever going to pick something out within her budget that she wouldn't be afraid to use herself?

Corywn

I smile to myself as Daphne doesn't take a nice cut out of my side during or after I've run my fingers over her. I nod when she suggests we get to work. My body shivers just a fraction when her finger brushes my cheek and I try not to let it show. Another in a long series of nods follows her response to my offer, "Anything you say, Daph."

After we've finished I get yet another surprise when she teases me with her lips and I have to force myself not to reach out and grab her. 'Not tonight, Cor, but soon.' I tell myself as the tingle rushes through my body. My eyes can't help but follow her out, watching every curve and sinuous movement of her body.

I can't say I really got much restful sleep that night but I was up early. Making another quick check on my bike before heading up to go grab something to eat. I nodded to Mad Dog and grinned at Daph's backside for a brief moment before grabbing what passed for food.

Charles

As I stood outside and watched the sun rise I wondered how there could be places like this out here after the asteroid strike. This place was the only place that I really loved being as it was nice and quiet and gave me a lot of time to be by myself. I knew that everyone thought of me as the loner of the group and that was true to some point but I also liked being part of the gang, to be part of a team. I took a look back to the bunker and knew that I should be heading back in for breakfast but for some reason I just wanted to stay out here for a while longer.

I found a group of rocks and sat down on them and placed my head in my hands, looking out at the desert and trying to find a sense of peace as I knew that I would need it for later on today and whatever Mad Dog had in mind for us.

Daphne

I was startled from my thoughts when Cor walked in. It hit me then just what I had passed up and I wondered if I was going crazy or had turned into a fool.

I caught Cor's eye and smiled before grabbing something to eat myself. After a quick breakfast, I went in to my room to check my own supplies and to take out my bike. Not as fancy as Cor's but we had been through alot together and we knew each other well.

Pushing the bike out to where Mad Dog was setting things up, I nodded to him and said,"So lay it out. What's the plan?"

Mad Dog

Walking Daphne over to the long black hood of my car, I unroll the map on it. Calling for everyone to assemble, I pace around as I wait.

"Okay Outlaws here is the map for this mission." I tell them as everyone arrives. Daphne and Corwyn, I need you to hit the grocery stores, banks, and anything else that might be useful. Charles check our fuel supply first if we need some take the tanker and get it, the station is here." I point to a spot on the outskirts of town. "If not, take your bike and help Daphne and Corwyn."

"Robert, come with me we are going to restock our armory. This is our target, the only gun shop in town." I say as I turn to him.

"Now everyone look over the map for the routes you are instructed to take, and notice the backups. When we leave I want to hear everyone in town say 'What the fuck happened?'. Charles, are the headset radios ready?" I ask him. "We will be leaving in 30 minutes."

"Any questions?" I ask, in conclusion

I walked over with Mad Dog and watched him trace the route we were to take, nodding where indicated. I smiled when he paired Cor and I, reminding myself to thank our leader later on.

Looking up at my partner, I said,"If we are grabbing supplies I think I will need to take one of the jeeps instead of my bike. You take your bike and that way you can watch my back." I winked in reminder of the comment he had made last night.

Sobering, I said,"So, where do you want to hit first?"

Robert:

"Yeah, I have a question..." Robert said with a cocky smirk on his face. "Why arn't we hitting my stash? I have some stuff there you might like..." And with that, Robert pantomimed the action of shooting off an automatic fire arm.

"I got some canned goods there too... Some extra blankets... Even a few tanks of gas..."

Mad Dog

"Robert, I told you we will hit your stash after this mission. If we don't attack now, we won't get a chance to hit there again." I say to him sternly. I like the kid, he is a member of the family now, but he is to eager sometimes.

"Draw up a mission profile for us to get your stash, and have it ready before we leave for town." I say, hoping that it will calm him down a little. "I will make the stash mission yours, so do me proud."

I turn back to the group and wait for any other questions.

Lydia Denison stood on the balcony of her hotel room looking down over the city. What a shit hole. Sure it was just a stop for awhile til she found her next customer, but the thoughts of staying in this roach infested death trap for long didn't appeal to her. So far, the only amusement she'd found was watching some woman, the town's sherriff so far as she could tell, break up what looked like might have been an interesting fight. Ah well, she'd have to find a new form of entertainment.

Pulling a cigarette from the pack in her pocket, she turned to make her way down the fire escape stairs that led off down to the street below. She paused for a moment when she reached the sidewalk to light her cig, the tip glowing bright red for a moment before the ashes began to form.

The sherriff stood a in the center of the road a few feet from where she was, a car holding one of the two men who'd earlier been arguing on either side of her. She heard the two of them taunting each other and could back a snort of appreciative laugh as the one taunted a man he called Rocky. He looked at her for a moment as she did, giving her a wink accompanied by a cocky grin.

"Hunters." She muttered to herself and turned to head down the street. She'd seen a bar down the street on her way in.. Maybe she'd find something to entertain her there.

Cheyenne

I looked up from the .38 special that I was admiring and noticed the woman next to me. She was so young, and looked like she was scared to death.

My curiosity won out. I had to ask her why she was here, because it seemed like it was the last place she wanted to be.

"Hi. The owner must be in the back." I said to her as I leaned over the counter trying to glimpse any movement. "Need some help?"

Valerie

"The owner is right behind you, Miss."

I spoke quietly as I stepped into her peripheral vision. A slight smile tugged at the corner of my mouth, although my dark eyes remained hard and unwavering, apprasing both of the newcomers quickly.

I had spotted both of the young women as they entered. The meagerly rigged up security camera wasn't the cream of the crop, but it fit my needs well enough. The last of the gun shipment I had recently obtained was now safely ensconced in the safe in the back room. What? You thought I displayed usable guns on the floor for anyone to swipe? Hah! Oh they worked alright, but not without a helluva lot of manipulation. Charlie had taught me well, rigging the safety just so made the gun pretty much inoperable unless the person knew exactly what they were doing. No, most law-abiding citizens picked the model they wished and I took it to the back to correct the little safety 'problem' or grabbed a fully-funtioning one from the safe.

I nodded my head in recognition to the younger of the two girls. The expression on her face resembled a deer caught in the headlights. Scared. I didn't much trust that reaction. Startled at my sudden, quiet appearance behind them? Yes, I could see that. Scared? No, not really. Not unless she had something to hide... or perhaps, hiding from.

"Is there anything in particular I can help either of you with today?"

Aaria Flynn

As Aaria moved her eyes around the room, she noticed another woman in the store. She was dressed differently from herself, not the usual items of cloth Aaria had to scrap together to make her outfit. She had her brothers old pair of boots, much to large for her feet. Her thin cotton dress only went to her knees and her hair could use a good washing. Looking at herself in one of the display cases, she saw a plain, fragile child looking back. What am I doing here, she thought to herself. She turned to leave as the other woman asked her if she needed help and she almost gave a yelp when another woman spoke from behind them.

She wasn't sure if she liked the way Valerie was looking at her, judging her. She knew her name was Valerie because Aaria had run into her before, when she came to the farm to buy some food. Valerie and her father had gotten into an argument about the price of the food and eventually her father had given in to the price she had offered. "She has to eat too" was all he told Aaria. Aaria had been mad. They worked so hard and gotten so little in return. And now Aaria was here in Valerie's store. She hoped she would get a good deal on a gun.

With her head down, Aaria replied. "I need something to protect my family Miss. I don't have much money, but anything you can give me will be just fine."

Rock Brodus in "I'm Back"

As that runt Chan kept trying to taunt me, I simply ignored him making a note to self to kill that lil nome after Mad Dog is hauled off in a casket or handcuffs, whichever come first. As Chan kept up the Tom Foolery my patience reached it's apex. I quickly spun around and before he could breathe another world I said "Look you Triad son of a bitch. I don't like you and I do not trust you, but I have a job so I will tolerate you. For now. Do yourself a favor and do not piss me off or you will end up a Asian hood ornament for my Burban. Understand."

After issue my warning to Chan I looked around and noticed that we were drawing a crowd again. Ah all the inbred hicks have come out to see a show. Well unless Chan is too damn dumb to stay quiet, then the show is over before it began.
