part 11 of the China Pearl Inn

Well medicine is a practice Cait not a science and it sounds like they are still in the practice mood. ;)

Glad things are returning to normal if only slowly. Ready for winter, I am always ready for winter. It is amazing how many people frown when I say that but I do enjoy winter.

I am just still puttering about for the most part Cait.

Well, I am glad you still putter about. *grins* Yes, I am all too aware of the fact that medicine is not a science but sometimes, I sure do wish it was. Ugh... they've missed a couple of times with me which has resulted in me being an experiment but this one has been the longest yet.

I am never ready for winter but it is going to come about, regardless so I am trying to enjoy the Fall for as long as I can. My knees do not care for the cold.

Oh I am full of aches and pains Cait but being bull headed I just don't give in to them. Besides it would do no good. ;)

Fall here is wet and misty so it mutes the colors of fall. The result is the dark greens of the firs and the muted yellows and golds of the aspens.

The day dawns wet and with a pronounced chill in the air. If I needn't know better I would say winter is making a early arrival. Nah Mother nature could not be that perverse............or could she?

I hear you, CG. I'm too bull-headed as well but the aches and pains come with age, I suppose. I'm getting use to them actually.

Ah, fall. The trees here have not only changed their colors but are falling all over the place. This week is suppose to rain all week. :( At least I get out to walk the dogs whenever it's not raining. When it does, the trip to the backyard is short and sweet. They at least get me out and walking whenever we can until the snow hits, then it'll be a much shorter trip.

Is it getting cold there yet? We're in the 50s-60s for now. That's not so bad. We've even had a few days still in the 70s. They say it's going to be a warmer winter this year. We shall see.

Cait the temps are in the upper 40's to low 50's though at night we are edging toward the 30's. The dog and I have been house bound.......rain you know. She does hate the rain so she is out and back in record time.

I here that you might be in for snow soon.

It was a chilly 37F this morning and never got above 43F yesterday.

I do believe that a warm cup of coffee with a healthy splash of Jameson Irish whiskey.

Yep. Luckily, it was just a dusting of it. The colder temps kept what was on the ground, there until Sunday morning. Yes, like you, it's about that cold here. My pups are so strange. They refuse to walk through a puddle but they will go out in a mild rain (having two coats helps, I guess)or in the snow. They get wet either way but I can't figure out the puddle thing at all.

So Cait a coffee with a touch of Irish to warm the day?

The weather has been decidedly chilly with the temps in the morning to be hovering around 32F and a high of 48F-51F.

Perhaps a bit of more than just a touch of Irish for the coffee Cait. ;)

I try not to dwell on the working of dogs minds.

Mmmm... just add more Irish than coffee... for now. *grins* That should warm my wee toes not to mention my body.

No Problem Cait, more Irish that Coffee. ;)

You know how I love keeping you warm and blushing Miss.

My arms enfold Cait as my lips fleetingly brushes hers.

I do love when you blush so sweetly Miss.

I lace Cait's coffee with a generous splash of Irish, hummm more like a 50-50 balance.

Bottoms up Cait. :devil:ish :)

The day dawns chilly and I set by the fire of the hearth. Phoo Ming brings me a mug of fresh brewed coffee. I shift in my chair and wince as I take the coffee.

Morning to any who may be about and to those that hide in the shadows.

Stepping through the door he shakes off the cold. “Man that wind is biting.” He complains to anyone who might be listening. He looks around the room and smiles. “Been a long time. Too long.”

He walks to the bar where there is a pot of hot water already warmed up. Phoo Ming was always so helpful. Selecting some tea to steap in the water the elf takes the cup and sits down in one of the chairs before the fireplace after using a poker to stir life into the old harth. He hopes the tea will sooth the burn in his throat, and chase the chill from his bones.

Ah it is a bit cold Glad. I greet the wayward elf. But no snow yet. Had a bit of snow on Saturday, nothing to wright home about and gone by Sunday.

There is some Market Spice black tea and some China Green as well. So what have young been up to Glad?

Green tea and honey sooths the throat so well. I find as I get older, the acid has less mercy on my throat and vocal chords.” He nods to cg, glad to see the sailor still here.

“What have I been up to, hmmm. Well there was the promotion this year, and then my wedding. I’ve been lucky this year. Nothing is ever easy, but life marches on dragging us with it.”

Glad contradictions on your wedding and promotion. It does look like you are having a good year.

Along with that honey in the tea try a touch of lemon I think you will find it very soothing to the throat Glad.

I can’t complain too loudly.” He chuckles. “Good advice, a good combo.”

He sips the warm tea, “I miss writing. I know I need to make it a priority. I just keep making excuses.”

It is best to wright when you are moved by a story concept as the words just seem to flow Glad and magically you somehow find the time to write. ;)

It has been a while for me as well Glad. A good writing partner can be or is an inspiration.

Yes, I’ve been doing some reading deciding if I have any ideas to pitch to some of the ladies here.

Well that is always a good start Glad.

I have been off my stride lately as my right hip has been injured and it is a real pain.
