Well, that tells me they aren't responsible neighbors.Jack the day was hot in the high 80's. I spent way too much time cleaning up debris from a neighbor's damn fireworks.
So, a very traditional RED, WHITE, and BLUE 4th Cati well done. I'm glad you could enjoy the day.*laughs* Noisy and so was yesterday. Our town decided to host the annual fireworks yesterday because of the weather for the fourth and all that excess flooding stuff. Still, it went off without a hitch AND it didn't rain. Family wise, we had a pretty lazy day. I grilled brats and hot dogs, boiled up some corn on the cob and made potato salad. The older I get, the simpler the meal. The stepson had to work so he stayed only half a day. All in all, not a bad day.
My mother was the one to teach me that no matter how bad I think things are, look around you, there is always someone who has things worse than you do. It's something I live by. No matter how bad I think my day is going or how bad I feel, I know someone else has it worse. I am always thankful.I had a few good days off, or rather, things scaled back. I saw friends do things and cleaned up the place a bit. Now, I'm back to doing a little writing.
I think everyone is recovering post-holiday. I am trying to deal with changes in my reality, as I know things can always be worse. It's hardly what I want, but things are pretty good.
Enjoy what you can in life.
I have a roof over my head, food in the fridge, a little money in the bank, and, most importantly, I have friends. Things could be far worse. My mother was the one to teach me that no matter how bad I think things are, look around you, there is always someone who has things worse than you do. So very true, CG.Jack so many folks are obsessed with what they don't have as opposed to what they do have. Things don't make you happy but the connection you have with people do. Well at least that is how I see it Jack.
The temps are in the upper 90's today if you're in the sun. I will stay in the Inn and the cool confines of the Inn's common room.
Mmmm. It's cooler but humid today. Predicting rain for this evening. The writing is coming along well. I've been kinda sick the last two days so I haven't written much. Heck, I haven't done much of anything. Today is much better so I ran my errands and I'm just sitting down to eat something before I tackle the writing.Well at least it's not rain Cait. I pour a mug of coffee.
It is a bit cooler today, but it is still early. So how is the righting going? Any plans for the day.
Oh damn, JH. I remember those days when I lived in Northern Calif. No thank you.At 5:00 Am this morning, it was already 75 degrees. Also saw a small skunk walking in the parking lot near my home, no doubt looking for a cool place to sleep.
Not enough people do, sadly. Everyone is far too busy with their own agenda.Cait it is good to hear things are better today. I have spent the day with a repairman. To make a long story short the repair was caused by repairmen for the last three years listening to what I had to say. It seemed their opinion was the right one and the client knew nothing. The end result was I was correct and they were wrong. I fear folks to listen to each other any more Cait.
Funny, a young coworker was talking about relocating there, and I just nodded.Oh damn, JH. I remember those days when I lived in Northern Calif. No thank you.

I use to live in Redding, Calif., if either of you know where that is. It wasn't unusual for the summers to get in the 100's. I have literally fried an egg on the sidewalk.North of Fort Brage California is not bad, but you can have L A and south as far as I am concerned Jack. I much prefer a rural life and not being cheek to jowl. I have had my time living in big city like New York, London and Munich. I'll keep to the rain forest and the mountains.
Yes, I've heard of the place, if only for that. Certain things come with living in certain areas. It doesn't make it any cooler, but I'm happy to be out and working.I use to live in Redding, Calif., if either of you know where that is. It wasn't unusual for the summers to get in the 100's. I moved there as a child and it was a small town. Now I understand the place has grown too much. People from the Bay area and lower than that are migrating that way to the point that it's starting to be like LA is now. It's just crazy. Still, I have good memories of the place when I was growing up. I've traveled a lot as an adult and I'm glad to call Minnesota home now.Yes, I've heard of the place, if only for that.
