Photo ID For Voters Favored By Majority Of American People

Are you seriously trying to suggest voter ID is even remotely equivalent?

A case could be made that it is - all three are about disenfranchisement in one way or another - but no. My point is simply that being popular doesn't make it right.

So then how exactly would you propose ensuring only legal citizens vote in a elections?

Yeah, they’re all connected.

And I would argue that many women are STILL being disenfranchised by their abusive husbands who control who their wives vote for under threat of beatings or worse.

in canada you need photo id to vote at elections

In Canada you don't have the same history of Jim Crow and its lingering aftereffects. You do have your own sins to answer for, but not this specific one which has resulted in a lot of eligible voters not being able to produce the documents needed for a photo ID, and where 90% of those voters would vote against the party that's pushing for voter ID.

More to the point, as we have said again and again and again, it's a non-problem. There is NO evidence of ANY non-citizens voting, never mind the millions the Republicans would have you believe. In the much-maligned 2020 election, there were maybe half a dozen documented cases of voter fraud, all of them involving US citizens who tried to vote twice, and significantly, they were all Republicans. At least one of them did it because he'd heard the Democrats were cheating and he wanted to offset it.

As for "Somalia does it", since when is that an example we want to emulate?

There is a perfectly rational explanation for Raskin's claim here. You're just either too stubborn or too stupid to see it. The way some Republican voter-ID proposals are worded, your name would have to match the name on your birth certificate to be able to vote. Of course this was intended as a sop to transphobes, but it also means women who took their husbands' names when they got married would also be ineligible to vote.

Of course women who took their husbands' names are disproportionately likely to be Republicans. Just sayin'.

Well I hate to be the bearer of bad news for you thieves and pedifiles, but our president is working for we the people and he will nuke the fuck out of it with a pocket veto and its DONE! That along with your illegal voter base all fleeing the country, you motha fuckss aint ever gonna steal the Whitehouse again or any other seat! Thats a promise! Good luck to ya!

It sounds to me like you probably don't even know what a pocket veto is. Of course, Trump probably doesn't either.

The new voter ID proposal would take years to implement in a way that does not violate the Voting Rights Act. Just look at how long it's taking to implement Real ID credentials for flying.

Thus, the current voter ID proposal is just a cynical ploy by MAGAts to suppress voter turnout in the near term.

How many want to un-redact Epstein files?
I don't know, but Congress will be receiving an unredacted version. Those names that are redacted are probably victims or the names of the elite who managed to buy or negotiate their anonymity.
