Lake Erie suffered from industrial pollution up until the 60's. That was addressed but damage was extensive. Add to that farm runoff, invasive species and huge algal growth and there's still issues. Specifically as the weather warms. Better now than then but still the dirtiest of the Great Lakes sadly.

Not a fascination, I mainly take the pics for Blondie. They have a thing for dead stuff. *shrug* I don't profess to understand it. But I do like being able to get close up to animals I might otherwise never get a good shot of. That and trying to get a good angle. As you may have noticed I like taking pictures
