Alice Liddell - 1858

On July 4, 1862, Charles Lutwidge Dodgson and a friend, Reverend Robinson Duckworth,
took Alice and her sisters, Lorina and Edith, on a boating trip from Oxford to Godstow.
To keep the girls entertained, Dodgson improvised a story about a young girl named Alice
who falls down a rabbit hole.
Alice Liddell was captivated by the story and begged Dodgson to write it down.
Dodgson eventually wrote down the story, initially titled Alice's Adventures Under Ground,
and later revised it for publication. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland was published
in 1865 under the pseudonym Lewis Carroll.
