yay! i'm rare! grrrrrrrrr

and damnit to hell GM, a lady halfbreed walks in and you forget all about your brother in.... cross breeding? *fist of vengeance*

Well,....DUH! And I'm not a cross-breed, you half-human bastardization of nature, no offense to our Dark Elf intended.

I am a full-blood Macrai-Itoche, a proud monster race created by the Lord of Destruction.

And to inform SOME people and their little SWORDS, without which I'd snap 'em in two, our females are ugly. I mean, scarier than lookin' at a gorgon ugly. I mean, the Dark Lord created them, turned, and heaved up his lunch they're so ugly.

We get our newborns to cry by showing them their mothers, that's how ugly our females are. And that's why we chase human tail.

Although the males of my species, myself included, are very handsome and build for sex. We have to be, just like we have to be very lusty and easilly excited. Or how else would we be able to breed? Not that we want to, of course. At least, not with them

Especially with all the pretty womenfolks around in this group. :D

hey, since I am carrying around what basically is a demon's essence in my chest, then what am I?

Umm,...hopefully someone understand towards monsters who will keep Raen from kill either Zarl or the sexy Dark Elf he'll be hitting on/ discussing the evils of humans with.

.... maybe you didn't read, but the elf is a hal;f breed too.... you half wit HAHA *smirks*

Half breed yes, but not of human. Going for the half demon thing, hehe. Since Jac said I could, this is going to be extremly interesting. Originally she was not half breed. She was going to be full Dark elf. Well ya know, anything to make things interesting. hehe.

Tenryu is notably intolerant - I guess it gets that from its Draconic nature. However Yoshi has a slightly different idea of what a monster is - someone behaving monstrously.

So, as long as everyone's polite he has a good reason to keep a lid on Tenryu, doesn't he? Of course if he should be surprised, angered or, heaven forfend, frightened by someone or something well...

Tala - A Halfling Beauty - On The Run

Tala the halfling emerged from a tall tree where she had been scouting the surroundings. It seemed a human village was coming up and it seemed safe enough to travel too. Of course men were pigs, but most males were and she was as safe in the forests as she was in the village. Upon first glance, a beautiful young woman, with very dark brown hair, and enchanted hazel eyes, with a too trim body, small waist (12") and peach sized breasts, and a beautiful but smallish rear end. Very slowly she descended light as a cat on its feet and ever so silently.

At four feet tall she seemed to disappear into the surroundings especially since her clothes had interwoven patterns of greens, and her leather armor had been dyed to match her garment. In these troubles time, life on the run was barely tolerable. Graced with agility and dexterity of a halfling, she earned her keep the honest halfling way - by stealing it from others. Her specialty was a pick pocket but over her life she had picked up all the gifts of an accomplished thief and no theft was too big or too small, especially, if the price was right.

Tala mounted a small brown pony. The little sturdy beasts had strapped to it her short bow (and a quiver with 12 arrows). On the other side hung a short sword. They weighted the beast somewhat, but her other belongings were meagre (food, water, rope, thieves picks, torches, flint & steel, etc). In most places she traveled light and left her leather armor, sword and bow hidden to be reclaimed after the job. Today she was heading to meet new adventurers and she wasn't sure what to bring.

She knew to most people, a small halfing like herself would be mistaken for a beautiful human girl child and therefore not a threat at all. Tala normally first relied on her beauty, wit, charm and acting skills. If those failed her her next options were a concealed throwing blade at her waist and a second concealed throwing blade tucked into her boot. Knives were fast, silent, and deadly. These were tools of her trade - but never had she ever killed for money. For love she might - but never for money. At times her skills had failed her, but most men preferred other things that a woman could do than to kill a petty but beautiful halfling thief.

In the past, she had worked at various tasks from a simple pick pocket to a farmer's wife. But she wasn't the stay at home kind due to her wrestless feet and wondering heart. Needless, to say, when her husband found her with the master of their local thieves guild it had motivated some heated words and provided strong encouragement for her to disappear from their hometown. But through the affair, she had learned many womanly skills and had become a much better thief and sneak.

She didn't like to work as a mercenary, but at times she had worked as a scout. It sure helped that her resistance to magic was better than humans, and her small size allowed her to move around quietly and secretly. Her infravision was a big asset at night, and certainly offset her small size. But to scout for others could be very dangerous and not so rewarding. The losing side in any battle seemed to suffer greatly, so she prefered avoiding such useless confrontation. Life was simply looking after oneself. She had no politics or allegiances.

Mounting her pony (Ginger) she rode slowly into the human settlement. She could feel the eyes upon her. To some she was a freak of nature. To other, her smallness stimulated great attention, and yet others it spurned a great intolerance.

Ha! Little_golden has arrived! ^_^

(It's a technicality, but since I wanted to combine halflings and dwarves into a single species (because halflings are prettier and dwarves are sturdier), I'm calling them Midfolk for this thread.)

Okay, guys. I'm going to start the thread soon... you did know this was the OOC, right LG? ^_^;;

And you might want to make her a little taller. Maybe by six inches or so.

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(now I gotta think of a good intro post on 2 brain cells)
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes I did. But I didn't want to do a seperate character description so I made do. Really it's a first post but by placing it first in the OCC other players can maybe visualize her. It may help with a starting point (maybe). I'm sure the "real" thread will be up soon and I'll copy it over.

I haven't read all the old threads and the OCC has a lot of unique discussion.... I'm hoping to re-build the story line from a beginning point. If not, I'll play as if I'm a newcomer to an existing party.

(Why do you want her taller? I think they are anything over 3 ft.)LOL

(I've based the halfling details on the info from the original AD&D version by TSR. Dusted off my books them off and reviewed them. It's been a long time.)

Smiles

Sorry I didn't get it done last night, guys. I didn't think it would be a good idea to post when I wasn't feeling up to top shape.

I'm feeling good again, though. I'll post today. :)

Thanks, GM. And thanks for all posting, you guys. ^_^

I hope n00n is still around... that blonde elf picture was cute...

Ah, great! Things are happening differently this time! Good. However, there was the goblin attack scene we did before that introduced Logan -- I liked that one. I thought this time, however, Logan could wait a bit (or the ambush could happen faster) so Kevin's power could be unleashed earlier on (and more dramatically), and Shizura could find herself in even more trouble. That's when Logan could come in.

So, there's two options -- we could scrap that plan (which is fine, because unicorns are cool and Shizura would want one to come along either way, and Kevin's power is bound to show up SOMETIME... I mean, girls have to take baths)... or Raen could get disgusted with the "townies" and leave for a while, and then, find some excuse to come back. I'm not sure how that would work.

But you guys can decide either way. Truthfully, I'm just glad we're playing again. ^_^

(Also, besides this scene, there really aren't any scenes I did before that I want to construct again. So I won't do this to you guys a lot. Besides, planning ahead too far is boring!

...well, I might want to reconstruct snuggling with Eeve... but, uh, that can wait... )

Raen could send us off in the direction of the town, and then return to us when he hears the goblin fight.

Well, we saw the Unicorn already, but it don't matter. As long as things are going forward. :)

There are more people, so things might get more complicated, but hopefully when we get to the town things will get more sorted out.

Also: AB asked an important question over PM, so I thought I'd answer it here -- How are spells cast?

I always thought as spells being cast in the Slayer cartoon or Star Ocean EX cartoon style. Gestures and saying the name of the spell for the quick form, but for the strongest form of the spell, energy needs to be gathered over a period of time, and the full spell chant. Same for Fighter's Trance abilities.

For example, Shizura, in the middle of battle, could just shout "Crush Punch!" when her energy is strong and pull off the attack. Think of the spell name as a sort of "kiai", if you know what that is -- in martial arts, it's when you shout as you attack to feel stronger.

If she was in a position to wait a while, and wanted to finish someone off dramatically, however, she might go all the way:

"Greatest Force beyond your sight
Come to me, augment my might!
CRUSH PUNCH!"

Or something dramatic and slightly embarassing like that. ^_^

ok, thanks for going into detail, since I haven't played anything on a console in years!

ok, so what you are saying it's gestures, words, and 90% will of the caster?

Yeah. The gestures and words are just there to enhance your will, kiai style. And it adds flair. And Magicians need flair, yo.

But, since they're unnecessary for just throwing out spells, yeah, it's mostly energy, or "will", if that's what you want to call it. ^_^
