Pleasure Kingdoms Second Attempt: OOC

ACK!

:falls over from JC's glomp, copping a quick feel.:

Can't blame me for trying. :D

Draining Crystals??

You just better not be draining Macrai-Itoche crystals, bub! Our people have a sacred heritage of collecting our crystals, Hall of Graves,....and some-other half-fleshed out ideas I should really run by our great leader. Not to mention getting a little more info on the Void Lord and Goddess-thingy.

Mostly because I'm a god-damn sentient monster trying to get equal status and I should have some clue of this stuff. Ehh,...well, It's not important right now. I'll wait until the thread starts until I start asking really complex questions. (That way some of the answers might just show up!)

Oh, a midfolk, eh? Short. Hmm. How tall is Zarl again? Ehhh,.....

Moving on,....Me, sell crystals? In town? Blah. I'll probably be playing the flute in a tree somewhere. After all, I'd prefer if this time the first impression I give isn't "Hey, look, tits!"

Although that did lead to some good laughs.

But, question,...Didn't monsters used to, you know, decay? What, we need insta-crystals now? *Is a bit torn about this whole disintigrating issue. Hard to Revive someone when their body dissipates* Yeah,....kinda worried about that. Oh well, doesn't crush anything big for my Macrai-Itoche culture, although it is kinda spooky. Oh well. Zarl will have no problem giving over any crystals he gets, as long as they're not his brethren! And nobody better dare touch a Macrai-Itoche crystal!

Yeah,.....Empty Threat! Empty Threat! Anyway, it's not like Zarl either needs money or lacks it. "Aww, darn, that bag full of golden suns is missing. Oh well. Hey, what's for breakfast?"

Yeah, I changed it to disintegrating Final Fantasy-style, but I'm not so sure about it. It used to be decomposing...

Maybe they just decompose at a very accerated rate, so they can still be healed, but it has to be done quickly. It makes sense, what with the Void inside of them and all. And so we don't have to wait around for freaking weeks to get crystals. ^_^

Didn't Zarl sell crystals in the last thread though? One time?

Well, it's not important. As long as there's some excuse to see the group. ^_^

And I'm thinking Midfolk are, on average, four-and-a-half feet tall, though some get up to five feet or so. Which should be more than tall enough, my dear Zarl. Partay!

*eyes SJ*

I'll let that pass if I get to cop a feel on Eeve. Which I will. Oh yes.

:laughs:

I am sure you will have plenty of chances to do so JC.

Well, disintigrating's fine, I guess. As long as it doesn't happen right away. You know, like, thre minutes for the Void to get enough power to do it? That should leave enough time if someone gets their act together.

And yes, he did. He sells crystals, as long as they're not Macrai-Itoche crystals. Those are special, his brethren, and they deserve the Hall of Graves, damnit!

Other monsters, pffft, fuck 'em. They're not in control like the Macrai-Itoche, they're savage little monsters without culture of care for their fellow beings. So, sell their crystals. Besides, how else would they get money to buy Macrai-Itoche crystals some humans get by killing his brethren. Oh, the bastards! I mean, horror of it all. It's so hard being misunderstood, eh?

Four or five foot, ehh? Zarl's about,....sixish? Ehhh, interesting. Whatever. Just keeping my options open.

Macrai-Itoche, Away!

Hahahaha!

Oh, man. Zarl should actually say that at some point.

"Quick, to the Macrai-Itoche-mobile!"

Well JC, what you have laid out sounds better than what i had, so i will use what you have put out. great story line for him :)

I'm back - everything was in Hollish, but I managed to find the bathroom just fine! :)

I'm still in JC, oh yes, don't panic! This looks like being a LOT of fun...

Okay, folks:

GM had some questions about stuff that I probably didn't explain well enough (because I was muddled), so I'm going to reiterate some of the stuff I told him, just in case.

There was always a human God, the Creator, even in the last thread. I just never explained it well enough the first time.

Supposedly, the Creator is the force behind the Consciousness which fuels humanity to greater lengths, and the Destroyer (or Lord of Destruction) is the void that drags monsters into depravity.

As the Creator is seen as a sort of mother and the Destroyer is seen as absorbed with what are typically masculine pursuits, at least according to cultural stereotype (like, well, destroying things), the Human God is generally depicted as a Mother Goddess, though as I said, this isn't always the case.

Crystals fade after a while, just like bones fade, and are just about as hard to find as bones if you haven't just killed a monster. They lie around for a while, but they usually get covered up, etcetera. No magic lasts forever -- though very strong or legendary demons, or legendary heroes, tend to have their crystals stick around for a very, very long time (if not an indefinite period of time).

And yes, I plan to bring both the Creator and the Destroyer into the story. Very much so. Because most of what the humans and fae believe isn't true. But then again, the monsters tend to buy into the same thing (why shouldn't they, after all -- they keep on losing all the damn time), so I don't think I'll need to tell you exactly what the truth is -- and, admittedly, I haven't quite decided yet. There are a number of options. ^_^;;

The Destroyer and the Creator do hold each other in balance, however. If there was only one, nothing could survive -- either because there would be too much or because there would be too little. All the people of the world are aware of this, at least to some degree. However, what is incorrect about the myths pertains to who, in fact, has the void inside of them. For example: do humans strive for better because they have light bursting inside of them? or because they have the void, and have an incessant need to hope for more? or, perhaps, are the monsters' desires something that wasn't supposed to be made, and both humans and monsters are equally balanced in light and darkness?

Basically, Zarl won't know the truth, and neither will anyone else. Most monsters as intelligent as Zarl, however, are simply bitter at the Destroyer for casting this fate on them.

As the story progresses, acts of human atrocity against monsters will become just as apparent as the acts of monsterous atrocity against humans, and the truth will slowly be revealed to everyone.

But, basically, neither the monsters nor the humans are sure as to the truth -- but the humans think they know, and most monsters tend to just buy into that they are inferior beings. Zarl, however, probably wouldn't like that idea.

Just thought I'd post this, just in case some people either didn't know, or worse, didn't know that they didn't know. ^_^

Oh, and I might want to mention how magic weapons are made:

Multiple high-quality monster crystals must be brought together, powdered or distilled, and then formed into a new crystal over a period of time, made of the refined essence. That crystal is usually placed into the pommel, but on rare occassions, a skilled weaponsmith/enchanter can mix crystals into the metal itself, as well.

Sentient weapons usually have an unrefined crystal in the pommel, however. This is why sentient weapons are so rare -- because not only are legendary heroes and demons rare, but so are the already fully-refined crystals they produce.

Anyway, this basically means that magic weapons are created by grinding monster bones to make bread. To monsters who care, it's disturbing. To those who don't -- well, most don't. In fact, monsters who are capable of doing so manufacture their own magic weapons (out of the corpses of other monster types, of course).

It may seem a bit gruesome almost, at first, but keep in mind -- this is just how things are. One might think that the way monsters act around humans or fae of the female persuasion is also atrociously, uh, impolite, but people just take it for granted, because it's the way things are. And isn't that fun. ^_^

I haven't read this word for word yet, but if you have room for one more I wouldn't mind joining, sound pretty fun from what I have read.

Not sure what kind of chara's you wish to allow though, does anything go? Like dark elves and such? Then again, like I said I haven't read this totally, 13 hr drive kind wears a person down hehe.

Anyway let me know if I can make something up and I'll see what I can come up with. =)

Hooray for not knowing! We know what our PCs know, and we'll learn the rest as they do. Good, good.

Trust me I know what those drives can do... and am not looking foraward to an 18 hour round trip next weekend and a 48 hour RT the following weekend.. Driving is a wonderful thing.. I just have to keep reminding myself of this. :)

hehe yea we had a fun trip ourselves, me and my bf. Went from Seattle to Montana, then down to Idaho almost to the border of Utah, then back to seattle. hehe Gotta love family LOL.. It was fun none the less, but I am glad to be home that is for sure hehe.

Here is my chara, if you like then cool, if not then cool as well hehe. It does seem there needs to be more females, and since I don't like playing humans then well, another elf is added. =P I play human irl, why play one in games and such. /grin.

Anyway,

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lavastine is what they call me. A rare dark elf, fire red hair that runs thick and long past the well rounded ass. Ruby red eyes that seem like they could set you on fire. Deep dark blue skin that turns more like a blood red when in battle or using magic. My magic is based off fire, fire child is another name some called me. Only time I am near water is when I am bathing and even then they are quick. If in water for to long it will hurt me, mostly weakens me to unconciousness depending on the severity and length.
Little taller than the normal elves, standing 5'9, weighing about 120 roughly. All muscle with all the right curves. I do have a history with the demons and the dark side, though I keep that silent. Not ever wanting to talk about it, when you look deep into my eyes you can see that there is something beyond what I tell. Extremly cautious in everything and place I do, as if I am being watched or followed. Very quiet and keep to myself, a loner/ hermit persay.
Skills: the use of fire, I can do most things with fire. Basically I can work with fire, I can't just start like a wall of fire out of nothing. (though I'm working on that.) I can although make a simple fire into a wall, ummm provoke the flames inhancing them for greater things. I grew up near the lava lands a place called lavastorms, It is a rare place that not many go or perhaps heard of. I can work very little with lava its self, I do better with actual flames. Practically raising myself and being kidnapped as a child all the things I have learned, I taught myself. Mostly experimenting and went with what felt right and worked best.
Having some fighting skills but not many to matter, mostly rougish type skills. Backstabbing with small swords, daggers, theivery, pick locks. Such things that rogues do.
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hope this works for a start, I'll add more as this moves along. This is just a rough idea of my chara.

Oooh. A dark elf. Welcome, katalyn! ^_^

Hmm. I never thought about dark elves.

Would they be fae or monsters?

Or, ooh! What if dark elves are an ancient crossbreed of an elf and a demon? Maybe even a consented one, as in, not a rape? Some elven maiden tragically fell in love with a handsome demon? A fire demon (that would make fire aptetude and water weakness make sense, even though the classic dark elves aren't usually like that... but who cares about classic dark elves!) That would be interesting. Of course, it'd be hard to get along with humans and fae alike, but hey, Shizura keeps things together. Even if she'd probably be eyeing you a little worriedly, herself. ^_^

Half-monsters (like Dreant) are pretty rare, since the humans and fae just tend to assume that a monster raping a human is a terrible act, and consented... just doesn't happen. Which is why the existance of dark elves would make people uncomfortable.

Okay, I just spewed out a bunch of random ideas, so if you don't like them, feel free to say "no." Really. I'm just the kind of person who gets inspiration at odd moments.

And another semi-monstrous character would be interesting. You'd have to grapple with your urges every once in a while, though. But, of course, humans and fae do that too. ^_^

Dark elf? And a female dark elf?

Hmmm,......In-ter-est-ing,....

With history with demons, huh?

This is going to be very interesting...

Hmmmm Wasn't really thinking along those, though that does work, so yea, 1/2 demon and elf. That would rock, I was thinking that she was just simply raised by the demons, takened as a child. That sort of boring story, I did have an instant thought about splitting like you mentioned, just wasn't sure if it would have been acceptable or not so I just went with something easy for now.

I do like your idea though =), that'll be her deep dark secret. /grin. Maybe have her run away, wanting to explore the world alittle more type of thing. She is pretty curious hehe.

~~~~~~~~~~
As for whoo'ing her, it's going to take some effort. She doesn't trust very easily and haven't trusted men for a very, very long time. Got give ya some challenge. =P
I'm glad you like it. Sometimes I get lucky with the stuff I pull out of my ass. Just look at all the crap I made up for Shard. ^_^;;
And Khad, no more quips when I mention my ass.
hmmmmmmm
those are some tight fitting extradimensional pockets you have back there
*looks closer*
verrrrrry tight
*didn't say anything about me!:)*
hehe no worries I'm always coming up with random thoughts like that as well. Either way I can work with that, as for not getting along with other races, well, it's something I'm gonna have to handle when I run into a filthy human. /innocent look.
I should probably mention weaps and clothes. Wears all leather, deep dark purple vest, arm bands, pants and boots. Long hooded blacker than the night with no moon or stars. Everything is trimmed with silver skulls. The cloak is somewhat of ancient material, Material that can not be found any longer. It help to keep her dry at all times, from rain. Sometimes it will even protect me from flowing waters, that's sometimes iffy so I just avoid rivers and such all together.
Daggers, one is poisonous, the other will heat the blood and skin of whatever it cuts. The poisonous dagger is black with a cobra snake handle.
The other is of a red dragon with a silver blade. To everyone else they both look like normal blades, very sharp, made with extremly rare metals. Also various rings, mostly different skulls. Both my middle fingers weild a ring that has triple X on them. These two rings also protect from water for a short time, nothing like the cloak, mostly long enough to take bath and little things like that.
then typical traveling things, not much at all. Live mostly off the land and my cloak is what I use to sleep on and in.
~~~~~~~~~~~~``

Hope this isn't to much. Simple things. /shrug.

...Leather?

Oh look, another character that lives off that land and might have a similar attitude to humans!

Someone Zarl can have intellectual discussions about the differences between "people" and "humans" with! Yay!
