dudly, the economy isn't "collapsing" right now. Yes GDP is down 39% but the reason for that is because STATE GOVERNORS mandated to people stop going to work because of Coronavirus and then KEPT THEM THERE after the 14 day "pause" back in March.

Coronavirus is also CHINA'S FAULT, not Trump's.

Some things are lagging indicators some things are leading indicators. There's no hard and fast rule for what an economy will or won't do. It depends on what Millions of Americans decide to do based on what their leadership is telling them they plan to do.

Despite Mr. put the car and gear and gei out of the ditch Obama (who instituted no policies that could have that effect) taking a victory laugh after Trump was elected and the economy boomed, none of that had anything to do with the policies of the previous Administration and it had everything to do with the proposed policies of the Trump Administration. Lower taxes and regulations are things that caused businesses to invest in ramping up production, caused consumer confidence to soar which in turn caused businesses to be even more optimistic. Also caused the repatriation of lots and lots of capital that goes to buy the things that you need to make things and sell things and distribute things. Lower taxes also means you can afford to manufacture some things here that were not feasible at the higher rates.

I don't have good data on the JFK tax cut boom but there was definitely a cause and effect. The Reagan tax cut boom was entirely anticipatory. The boom happened before he was able to get the tax cuts through Congress...just on the promise that they were working on it.

If Biden is elected capital will flee the day after election day.
