Pres. Bill Clinton is ripping the Republicans a new asshole.

I don't actually see any of the usual suspects actually addressing anything that was said.

and you are surprised?

Seriously, I believe the righttards are waiting for their talking points from Faux News. Then we'll see variations on those themes throughout the day.

He was doing his job. He's a great attack dog and his job at the time was to get his wife elected. He is good at smiling while he jabs you in the face over and over again. Biden is as well. Keep the smile going while you rip apart your opponent.

I wasn't shocked when he ripped apart Obama. It was what he was tasked to do.

This reminds me of the irony of the camera panning to show the Mrs. Obama in the audience wearing a blue dress. Maybe Mr. Bill "jabbed" her in the face over and over again after the speech?

Except for the fact people either LOVE him or LOATHE him. I  him, but the people who hate him seem to have more hatred than the love the lovers of him have.

Um...did that make sense? LOL...

No, but it's true.

His alternating message on Obama, though seen as "politics", is understood by most as patronizing hypocrisy.

Apply that to every politician. If Mccain picks Romney there will be a great big suck fest while they cozy up for the ticket. It's politics, it's expected.

Any polemicist can count his success in the fevered responses of his disgruntled opposition...oh look RubDownSow just came in and grunted.

True enough, just look at all of the fevered bullshit that has been spewed all over the place over the past 5 pages of this thread by the usual suspects over Clinton's speech.

Hey, speaking of Clinton's speech, I wonder how it squares with this:

Economy rebounds in 2Q, mostly spurred by exports

Economy rebounds at better-than-expected pace in the spring, mostly spurred by exports

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The economy shifted to a higher gear in the spring, growing at its fastest pace in nearly a year as foreign buyers snapped up U.S. exports and tax rebates spurred shoppers at home.

The Commerce Department reported Thursday that gross domestic product, or GDP, increased at a 3.3 percent annual rate in the April-June quarter. The revised reading was much better than the government's initial estimate of a 1.9 percent pace and exceeded economists' expectations for a 2.7 percent growth rate.

The rebound comes after two dismal quarters. The economy actually shrank in the final three months of 2007 and limped into the first quarter at a feeble 0.9 percent pace. The 3.3 percent growth in the spring was the best performance since the third quarter of last year, when the economy was chugging along at a brisk 4.8 percent pace...

Yup, the economy is doing great... Except for the foreclosures, layoffs, stagnation of the median annual income, trade deficits, soaring oil prices, loss of health benefits.... etc. etc. etc.

It's good that all of the large corporations are making record profits though and bolstering the numbers.

I wonder if anyone on the forum has ever had their opinion changed by one of these threads?

Just the title of this one alone begs the question, who did he "rip the Republicans a new asshole" to? The convention? Every person who already loves Bill Clinton or at least is a Republican hater? The Republican convention will be just as bad of course. It's all preaching to the choir. So Bill Clinton's speech is no more a victory than a thread on Literotica. It's the same old worshippers and haters on both sides. Where is the actual debate as opposed to gushing about how much we love/hate Bill Clinton? I mean that in general, not on this thread.

Debates come later, the convention is about energizing your base constituencies.
Swaying fence sitters comes when McCain and Obama start facing each other on stage.

Hey, I didn't write it. I do realize that as long as a single democrat is in economic stress the economy will always be a failure. The day after Obama is elected it will all be good.

Doubtful, it's going to take years to reverse all of the boneheaded policies of the past 8 years. Economic, Foreign, Domestic.. You name it, this administration has screwed the pooch on nearly every policy it touched.

If you're going to post an article because it backs your assertions on the health of the economy then you don't get to say "But I didn't write it." when called on your bullshit. Unless of course your objective was to look foolish as well as wrong.

Everything is well in the economy. Why do you hate America?

Tell the neighbor of mine who was just evicted after being laid off from his job how well the economy is doing. Be ready to run though.

Not America, just some of her citizens, with good reason.
