BSG was talking about Gaza “self rule” by "Palestinians" (regardless of whether it’s Hamas or some other entity) as opposed to Israel ruling over it, no???

My "self-rule" comment was in response to Politruk's claims that Israel was an "Apartheid state". I was pointing out that Israel let the Gazans rule themselves for almost 2 decades.

Well I'm not sure Israel is an Apartheid state. My response isn't to defend or even engage in debate on it. Israel allowed a terrorist state government to rule in Gaza, that is true, but that to me doesn't meet the definition of Gaza having self-rule. I can get pedantic, ll74 will agree.

Gazans are marching in the streets right now trying to get rid of Hamas. Anybody who care about Palestinian lives should be supporting them instead of attacking Israel.

If Israel had intervened sooner to eradicate Hamas in Gaza, it would have been excoriated by the international pro-Palestinian movement. Even with the justification of the atrocities on October 7th and the ongoing hostage situation, Israel has been vilified over the last year for fighting back against Hamas.

Hamas historically had broad support in Gaza, and now it appears there are SOME "Palestinians" who regret that support.

No, not all Gazans support Hamas. As it's become clearer that Hamas lost the war they started, more of the population has turned against them. International pressure on Hamas now to surrender and release the remaining hostages can save lives.
