Proposition II - Night in the Haunted House

Dareth

"Now it is after the girl!" says the second Dareth.

"We have to warn them." says the first.

"Perhaps. But not by you." the second answers.

Dareth looks and sees his twin standing there, sword in hand.

"What are you doing?"

"Our Liege is most displeased and wants you killed."

"You fool!" cries the first Dareth, "that thing is the Scourge. You know as well as I do that its only reason for existence is to kill and consume. Unless we try to stop it, it will kill all of us including our Liege."

"You are the fool!" snarls his twin, showing him his fangs. "The Scourge is a force of nature and cannot be killed. We are all doomed!"

"But why kill me?"

"Because I want to." and with that the second Dareth attacks.

Calandrow

I turn to hear some thumping in the distance, "d-do you hear that?" I ask Demika. I also heard something about food in the distance. My sister, and I rush to the scene. When we got there we saw Rupert, or what used to be Rupert. He was large. I didn't know if he was going to attack us, or not, but a had a knife ready just in case.

 

[Yoc]

The Scourge

It can smell the lifeforce permeating through the creatures ahead of it.

It hungers.

It moves ever closer until it is only literally yards from them.

A growl to the left heralds an attack from one of the shadow beasts.

In full view of the group, the beast leaps only to be caught by one of Scourge's tentacles which literally erupts from its black skin. Trapping the struggling beast, the Scourge then absorbs the tentacle back into its body, taking the beast with it. Only the Scourge's belly wobbling shows that the beast ever existed.

For a moment, the group just stand there, frozen. Then the scientist assistant screams "It's going to kill us! It's going to kill us!"

"Wait! Look!" cries someone.

They watch as the Scourge seems to go into convulsions. Suddenly, the shadow beast is ejected from the belly and thrown to the floor. Shivering and covered in black slime, the beast slowly raises to its feet. With its now white eyes (the same as the Scourge) fixed on the group, the shadow beast starts to move closer...

The Master

A sudden tingling in his mind alerted the Master to current events.

"A Scourge? Here?" The Time Lord looked worried for a moment, then shook off the look. He continued on his way, although at a brisker pace. "Does not matter. I will be at the Ratharuk in a few moments. The Scourge can entertain the fools who are after me, while I make off with the prize..."

The Scourge

More of the shadow beasts are absorbed and then converted into Scourge zombies as it gets closer...

Yes I hear it Calandrow and Rupert is The Scourge!

I walk up to The Scourge and lay my hand upon its arm and look up unaffraid!

ooc sorry but not feeling very good right now!

The Scourge

(OCC: Tut! Tut! Brat, this isn't friendly old Rupert anymore.)


With the old Rupert persona completely gone, it can only see Shirlene/Demika as a meal. Its belly growls as it feels her touching it.

Tentacles spring out from its chest, wrapping themselves unfortunate girl. Then, it starts to pull her inside itself.


(OOC: Sorry to hear that you don't feel too well. I hope it's nothing serious. )

Seeing my sister bEing pullED in by thE scouRgEs tEntaclEs, I takE out a kniFE, anD huRl it, causing it to DRop DEmika. WhEn shE was saFE I quickly huRl sEvERal moRE knivEs into thE cREatuREs chEst. Causing it to gRowl in pain.

The Scourge

(OOC: Strange! That happened to me the other day. I had to reboot the blasted thing.)

Reacting to the pain, some of the Scourge converts start bearing down on Calandrow, seeking to absorb him.

I knew what would happen to me but I needed someway of defeating The
Master!

The Doctor told me that getting in contact with The Scourge seemed the only way that I could complete My Mission!

By Calandrow's quick thinking by throwing his Knives he has saved my life and I smile at him!

well I used to play with my Brothers trucks we also used to have a goodtime antaganizing the insects!

(OOC: Brat, just one question: Why call yourself THEBRAT? That's how I thought you were a boy since only boys are generally called brats).

Again and again, the two Dareths lock swords. Due to their matched skills, it soon becomes obvious that this is not going to be a quick fight.

"This is ridiculous," moans the first Dareth, "we are wasting time on this foolish fight when we should be working out a way of stopping the Scourge."

"I have already told you," retorts the second, "there is no way you can defeat it."

"Rubbish! How did he managed to get split into two separate beings in the first place? Someone must have defeated it!" He jumps back to avoid another stroke of his twin's sword.

"My Liege!" crying out to his master, "Is this how you want it to be? My twin and I can either go on indefinitely trying to kill each other until the Scourge does it for us? Or we can try and stop the Scourge. Probability is that I will die trying anyway. It is not far better for your resources to be used trying to stop that thing then to just be wasted needlessly?"

While he had been pleading his case, Dareth I has been deflecting parry after parry from his twin.

The second Dareth snarls his contempt. "You are a fool if you think He's going to listen." He then attacks again, causing his opponent to topple and land on his back. Viciously, he brings down his sword again and again only to be deflected by the first Dareth's skilled use of his sword.

"Hold!"

On hearing their master's voice, they both stop.

"Your argument has merit, my Original. I will give you one last chance to redeem yourself. Defeat the Scourge and you may live in my service once more!"

The first Dareth now standing, bows. "That is all I wish for, my Liege."

"The second you will accompany you. Poor though your chances are in succeeding, the two of you improves those chances. Now go!"

And the two Dareths vanish, only to appear in amidst the others...

(OOC: Please note: At this time, only the Dareths can hear their Liege's voice.)

Rupert came after me, with his testicles waving in the wind. It was time I brought out the big guns. I take off my vest, and it changes into a sword. I started to slash away at his tentacles, leaving nothing, but stubs. Rupert suddenly takes out his club, which had grown with Rupert's power. I take defensive stance, ready for what was about to come.

Dareth

"I would advise you to do that!" the first Dareth shouts to Calandrow. "That is not the old Rupert."

"No," says the second Dareth, "he is the Scourge. So if you want to live, I suggest that we all run."

ooc THEBRAT is the nick my Hubby gave me combine a Scottish & Irish Temper and you have somethimg really explosive.

I take both of my Swords and sneek up on The Scourge from the otherside and do the samething as Calandrow is doing by cut off The Scourges Tentacles!

I Demika call out for Dareth's 1 & 2 to come out of hiding and help us out if they want to live another day!

Calandrow

The scourge attempts to bash me with its club. I quickly raise my sword to block it. The force of the club sends me sprawling toward a tree, but I was unhurt. Like a madman, I dash toward the scourge, and sink my blade into its face. I pull the blade out, which was a mistake. As soon as my blade came out, his face began to fix itself, becomeing whole again. He was going to be one tough challenge.

Dareth

The two Dareths watch Demika and Calandrow attack the main Scourge.

They hear Demika shout for help, not noticing another Scourge approach her from behind.

"Female fool!" curses Dareth as he springs to her aid. In one swoop, he literally slices this Scourge into two, its lower and upper body falling in different directions.

"This fight is futile!" he shouts to Demika. "Look at this one I have just 'killed'!"

Pointing to the Scourge he had just carved up, they watch as tentacles erupts from both halfs of the body and start to drag them together. On reaching each other, the two halfs start to knit together.

"They cannot be killed! We must flee!"

As if to prove things further, they watch as the severed tentacles, cut off by both Demika and Calandrow, slither to each other and start to merge into another, though very small, Scourge.

Maybe it was time I listened to those two. Without another word, I vanish into thin air. I could only hope that they would do the same.

ooc: its short, but I think it will do.

Dareth's 1 & 2 I don't want The Scourge Killed we need him to help us hinder The Master until The Doctor can get here which may be never!

Calandrow,Dareth's 1 & 2,an The Shadow Creatures I must some how get in contact with The Scourges mind!

And then convince him that we are not his Enemies but that The Master is his Enemy and we need his help!

I Yell Shadow Creatures Front & Center I look for The Shadow Creatures Leader I go up to him and kneel I use My Telepathy!

Will you help me to protect this Beautiful Land for both of Our People?

I will give you some of my own Royal Blood in exchange for what I will need from you to protect my own life from The Scourge when I go into his body to contact his & Rupert's Brain!

Dareth 1 I can hear what you are thinkng and yes The Scourge is two different beings!

Can it be true and that the Rupert creature still leaves?

Incredible! How does she know?

"No! She must not risk her life! I need her to help me escape this realm! I need her to search for the Ratharuk! STOP HER NOW!" booms the voice in his head.

Dareth watches as his twin tackles Demika, bringing her to the ground.

As I am taken down by Dareth 2!

I Scream in Rage as my Telepathic link to The Shadow Creatures Leader is still connected!

Dareth's 1 & 2 YOU FOOLS shall pay for this outrage in your own BLOOD I Silently Scream in Rage ATTACK ATTACK SHOW NO MERCY!

I feel that Calandrow is beside me and something else as well I look up and I am surprised to see that The Scourge is also protecting me!

Who said anything about me sacificing myself? I look at Calandrow I see his Tears & I start to Cry Brother I love you too!

Dareth 1 you should have checked or found out what I was doing in The Carriage with Rupert before it went to far for you to stop it!

Calandrow The Scourge will not hurt me because I carry within my body his Future!

Frantically, the second Dareth moves away from the girl as the shadow creatures/beasts start to move in.

You are a bit of a coward, aren't you? The first one says through their telepathic link.

As the beasts approach the two Dareths, the first brings his fingers to his lips and gives a short, sharp whistle.

They stop.

Their Leader comes over and Dareth gently strokes its head.

Dareth looks at Demika's surprised expression.

"You forget that these creatures know me." he smiles.

Suddenly his smile fades.

"Oh! Oh! Look behind you!" he shouts.

 

[Yoc]

The Scourge

From behind Demika, the Scourge suddenly attacks, seizing her with its tentacles and then tries to draw the struggling girl into its body.

Then it stops.

With an inhuman howl which could burst a normal human's heardrums, the creature suddenly flings her away. It's tentacles then starts to clutch at itself, one wrapping around its neck.

The other Scourges stop and just stand there, appearing to watch what is happening.

The parent Scourge then doubles over and falls to its knees.

"What is going on?" cries out the second Dareth.

Throwing itself forward, it starts to vomit. Black stuff gashing out of its mouth and onto the ground.

Then the group watch as the creature starts to get smaller.

"By the Alite, I cannot believe it." says the first Dareth, realising what is happening.

The Scourge continues to throw up as its body mass gets smaller and smaller, its body colour slowly turning from black to green.

Finally it stops.

Slowly, Rupert pulls himself back to his feet.

"Rrruupppeeerrrtttt iissss tttiiirreeddd!" he says as he lumbers over to Demika and gently pulls her to her feet.

The large pool of black vomit in the meantime starts to sliver away, towards the nearest smaller Scourge...
