Question for married persons

About fifteen years ago I tried taking mine off because I was going to do some painting and I couldn't get it off over my knuckle. At that point I probably hadn't had it off in five years or more, and I sure haven't had it off since. I'm told a jeweler can cut it off (the ring, dammit, not the finger) and add a spacer to enlarge it, but I haven't seen the need.

Zuke, you are adorable...and I know enough about you to say a few more things than you might appreciate here - all good of course, but potentially embarrassing and overly sweet. *big smile* So I will refrain.

I haven't ever removed my ring for any unwholesome purpose. I believe the only times have been because of pregnancy-related swelling and for cleaning/repair purposes. However, I don't use broad sweeping generalizations like "never"... and so I'm sure given the right circumstance, I might let my finger be bare for a short time. My marriage is sacred to me, but I've made peace with the few imperfections that exist in my will power. I won't crucify myself if the time ever comes...

I've been married a lil' over a year- and I still forget to put it on. I'm not in the habit of wearing it since I can't wear it to work and won't wear it to do housework. My husband can't wear his at all (he's lost so much weight that it slips right off).

I've worn it for 38 years. This ring is my third one. We found a custom design a few years ago that we liked and bought matching rings. People often comment on the design, but don't usually notice we both have it.
