Question from a PC illiterate person

Yes I know I am young and should know my way around a computer but I don't...

Anyway you know when you go to the start menu and you scroll your mouse until you find what you are looking for? When you do that it highlights all of the things that you have gone over. I used to know how to change the color that it highlights in but now I have no idea how to do it....can someone help me...?!

Right click the desktop > properties > appearance tab > advanced.

It will be somewhere in the drop down list.

(assuming you have XP) Right-click your desktop. Pick the Appearance tab. Click the Advanced Button. In the Item drop-down box chose Selected IteM. Then change the color.
