Apologies if this has been covered before and I have searched for this topic.

What types of oil works best for a body massage and where can one get it? It has to be able to used on a woman's pussy as well without casuing any irritation.

I'd appreciate some feedback on some members' favorites.

Some types are better than others, but there is no "best" type of oil.

If your partner has any allergies, you obviously need to avoid oils that contain those substances (e.g. almond oil for a nut allergy).

We currently use pure grapeseed oil. It's inexpensive, isn't too greasy, doesn't clog our pores and works great overall.

I've also used almond, jojoba, coconut and several other types of oil; all work well. In addition, I've made massage bars out of various skin-conditioning oils and butters in the past - they're not as messy as liquid oils and really moisturize the skin. Many pre-made bars and recipes are available online, if you want to go that route.

I'd suggest finding a retailer that sells small (maybe 4 ounce or so) bottles of different natural oils and getting a variety to see which you and your partner like best. We always use unscented oil because some scents are irritating, but you may want to try adding scents that you find relaxing or stimulating.

It's generally not advisable to use oils in the vagina. Some do without a problem (some docs even recommend using a bit of olive oil as a lube), but they can cause an imbalance and infections for some women, can take a long time to work their way out, and are not latex compatible.

When we do erotic massage, we use oil on the body and switch to silicone lube (which can also be used as a massage oil, but it's usually expensive) for the genitals. I've used oil on his cock during a massage and then had sex after wiping the excess off without incident before, but there really was hardly any oil on there and we weren't using condoms or toys containing rubber.

I tend to use olive oil as a massage oil and lube and haven't had any problems with infections or anything. It cheap and i like the texture etc etc. I've never used it with condoms though, as Erika says it can damage the latex, so to be safe I'd spend a little more on the latex safe lube.

Have you tried googling it?

I've used olive oil in exfoliating scrubs and such with fine results.

Those were scented with enough essential oils to mask the smell, though. I think the main deterrent for using it as a massage oil and/or lube is the smell, and association with food, for many people. It may not be a problem with a small amount for lube, but I don't think I'd find it relaxing to have it all over my body in a massage.

Silicone lube especially IS more expensive than olive oil or even water-based lube, for sure. However, we use it many times a week, and have found a 16 ounce bottle lasts us about two years because a little goes such a long way and it doesn't need to be reapplied. When we divide that cost by the number of months, weeks, or uses, it comes out to be pretty inexpensive and well worth the initial cost.
