Questions for JMohegan

**just lurking because JMohegan is on my Top 5 list of people from this board I would love to meet for coffee some day**

I hated - I mean, fucking LOATHED - big firm politics. I can function effectively in that type of environment, and did, but a lifetime of that bullshit was not something I was willing to tolerate.

I feel you on this. Sometimes I wonder how high up you have to be to escape the vast majority of the political shitstorm. I suppose in one way or another, it never ends.

But the years spent there were really valuable for the rest of my career. In the first place, the minute I struck out on my own, my old firm became part of the competition. So it was extremely helpful to have intimate knowledge of their strategies, strengths, and weak points.

The time spent there also helped me in developing a client base. Not just because of the wide range of contacts, but also because of the resume effect.

Yeah, totally.

Never ends is correct. It's been my experience that the political shitstorm is worse at the top.

Man is a political animal I suppose.

I used to think I was pretty good at playing the game, not so sure anymore.

I've only seen it get worse the higher you go. The only way to end it is to check out of the game.

Ha! My apologies, but I've never been vague about my age on this board. I've said it outright many times, in order to put my comments in an appropriate time frame/perspective. Other times, it's just real easy to figure out from what I write. See the post I just wrote on the Exorcist!

Age shyness is something I don't understand. Why are so many women coy about this? To me, that never made sense.

because men dont like old chicks

Really, I'm not age shy. I've posted elsewhere on Lit that I am 50.

But I have to say, I have not run into the "men don't like old chicks" thing. I am sure there are men out there who prefer younger women. But I don't know any who actually don't like/wouldn't date women in their own age group.

I like younger women so LB you are just fine by me...

Man is a political animal I suppose.

"With politics, nothing works right. Without politics, nothing works."

Ugly but true.

What I hate about the upper echelon scene is just how divorced they inevitably end up from reality on the line. It's not even a matter of whether or not they care, it's just that worker A shines the story a bit for his boss, his boss shines the story for his boss, and so on. It's like a very self-serving game of Telephone.

You're welcome.

That's about how I feel. Hmm.

 what was i thinking?

AHEM
I have a question.
Whatya doing this weekend?

Taking my mom out to dinner, of course. :)

Happy Mother's Day to you, Graceanne, ITW, Ecstaticsub, CM, and everyone else who celebrates.

I can't wait for the monsters to be able to take me out to dinner instead of me taking them wherever they want to take me out to dinner.

so what about Saturday? lol

Aw, really? How sweet! Do you guys live near each other?

And thanks.

I think last year I was a little bummed out. This year I made plans at my favorite brunch place for me, kidlet and Mr. Man. I'm excited!

Thank you. I always get breakfast in bed from the kids. It's been fun each year seeing what they serve me. As they have gotten older it's gotten a bit more fancy.

my brother and i used to do that for my parents for their anniversary. emphasis on used to.

it all stopped the year we made something neither of them would eat. we decided to make eggs. we knew mom was on a diet so we separated out the whites and made her an egg-white omelette with some broccoli in it. so we werent wasting food, we used the yolks to make scrambled eggs for my dad.

we thought it was terribly clever.

but we forgot to defrost the broccoli.

and dad has high cholesterol and couldn't eat the eggs.

we were both crushed. they tried hard to make us feel better but we could tell they were trying to figure out how not to eat any of it.

looking back on it it makes a funny story though.

My brothers and I did the same for our parent's anniversaries. Once my brother made poached eggs using the kind of ban with the water underneath and the little cups for the eggs on top. The problem was he forgot to put the water in. Burnt a hole in the pan instead.

The best one from my kids to me was a few years ago when my husband was in Iraq. As much as I tried toput on a positive face for the kids they could tell how much I missed him. They started planning the breakfast a week ahead of time. The were grade school age so the still needed help with making coffee but it was so sweet. I got a bowl of cereal with added raisins, juice, coffee and a dish of ice cream :) And best of all I had two smiling children who were thrilled to be able to make their mom smile. They were so happy to make me happy and I was so happy that my happiness would make them so happy.

Awww! That was awful darned cute. :D I feel sorry for your brother & that pan. I would've been in sooooo much trouble.

I've been wondering, Mr. Mohegan. Do you like fly fishing? (Or did I miss that question?)

I'll be 51 in June and I think the proper response would be:
" I thank you and Bless you too fine lady"

Close enough, but not too close. Same general metropolitan area.

Are your parents still on the opposite coast?
I've been wondering, Mr. Mohegan. Do you like fly fishing?
No, but I don't see anything wrong with it - as long as the fish ends up on somebody's plate.

Sport, to me, requires consenting human opponents, clearly delineated rules, a lot of movin' around, and in nearly every case - some kind of ball.

Do you enjoy fly fishing?

What brought you to literotica? And what keeps you coming back?
I like talking to people, and am not always out and about.

And you?

Haha! No way that would sound natural, coming out of my mouth.
