I have frosting in my freezer. Sighhh, he'll probably demur, as usual.

Well, I've got to go jogging and, by that, I of course mean have sex.

I wish that's what I meant when I go out running every day. :(

Well, that might be what I wished if I actually ran. I am personally more of a trotter thanks to my knees. I will need to substitute some other word for sex. Give me a few days, OK?

But I nevertheless enjoyed a PM as a result. :)

I love wild turkeys. They're really cool, utterly unlike the domesticated.

Sorry, bird nut.

M said we could go birding this weekend. I feel prematurely 85, but I don't care.

This would not prevent me from eating one. I don't know if they're still on a list here or not though, I know they had to make a comeback.

I should ask JMo something, but I can't think what. Either his opinion of wild turkey vs. bald eagle, or if someone hit him with a sexuality change-o-ray who would he actually pick to have sweaty mansex with?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Oh, fuck, woman! For sheer humor value, that's my favorite question on the thread!

I've never seen a wild turkey, or a bald eagle in the wild. Sad, I know, but a fact.

I can definitely say I'm a track athlete. Yes, I have been throwing discus now for almost 8 years and have been throwing javelin for the past 3 1/2. (Sprinkle in a little shot put and weight throw intermittently in there). Besides that I also run short sprints (100m, 200m dashes and the sprinting relays)

What form of athletics have/do you take part in?
Discus, javelin, and shot put - outstanding! Damn, that's fun to watch. Are you in the middle of your season? Do you measure your success more as an individual, or as a team?

Team sports for me, back in the day - baseball and football.

Current recreation - racquetball, tennis, biking, kayaking, backyard football or pickup basketball whenever possible.

I have frosting in my freezer. Sighhh, he'll probably demur, as usual.

It's like asking: If you suddenly got into bestiality, which canine would you have sweaty dogsex with?

I know this is hard for you wild and crazy bisexual folk to believe, but I'm just not aroused by guys.

Easy peasy. A particular large blue Great Dane. He had this demeanor of "I have a hot, wise human trapped in me, help."

I'm not about to do it, but I definitely did encounter a dog that made me think "If I was going to do a dog, that's the dog."\

You could always say you'd take one for the team and say you'd hump a particularly loathesome republican if it meant he'd lose his race.

... Thanks for the answer on fly-fishing. That makes a lot of sense, and sounds really lovely too.

Are you worried because they are elderly, or because of something else?
You're welcome. It is lovely. I'd invite you to go with me sometime if we were closer. As for the parents, it's a general thing. They're not elderly, but they're not young anymore either. Gabe says I worry too much about things. <shrugs> I miss being close enough to them to be able to help with things when they need it. :( So, back to the topic on hand, have you ever wanted to explore space?

That dog response is fascinating. Abstraction in the extreme!

As for the Republican - there are logistical issues here, you know. Loathsome precludes humping every time.

Okay, how about this. Give me a frame of reference. T's bisexual, right? Generally speaking, what kind of guy is he most attracted to? Same build, or a starkly different one? Similar personality, level of aggressiveness, tastes, and so on, or more of an opposite? That type of thing. Tell me about T's preferences, relative to himself, and then I'll try to give a comparable response to your question.

Does Gabe have aging parents who live far away?

Exploring space sounds great to me, in the fantasy zipping around the planets and checking out the view of earth sense. But the reality seems a lot more tedious, and besides - I'm claustrophobic. Locked up in one of those capsules, I'd probably kill somebody and/or slit my wrists before we even left orbit.

Have you seen the new Star Trek movie?

Well, who is a guy you really admire and would really, really like to hang out with? Really.

The guys I most enjoy hanging out with are guys I've known for more than 3 decades. They share my fundamental set of values, and know all but the most intimate details of my life - as I do theirs. There are different personality types, but all are fiercely loyal.

I lived with them for 4 years in the same house, have been hot & sweaty in close physical contact with them more times than I could possibly count, and spent hours in the same room naked. Physical interaction is, in fact, what brought us together.

But it's just not sexual.

That's great. Wow, four years. :) When straight women talk about a "girl crush," sometimes those are the feelings and appreciation behind their selection. Sometimes. Or it's just an appreciation for someone's physique/features. I have a longtime straight male friend who told me he would sleep with a certain politician. In that case, I think it's that this person is who my friend would like to be like.

Gabe's parents are a hair older than mine, but not doing as well physically. They live only a few minutes away from us. One of the reasons we're staying over here for a few years is to give him more time with them, just in case ... :(

Seriously? Before you left orbit? That's a bit extreme. Sure it wouldn't take longer? And who says it couldn't be a huge spaceship? This is just an idea, you know. :) We just watched Star Trek last night. Date night. :D Two for one tickets. Have you seen it? Or do you prefer other types of movies? Can't remember if you've discussed movies yet or not.

Well, I've rarely known him to be into a guy who wasn't dressed. It does happen. Usually it's men completely unlike him in one or more regards. M is one of the few boys he finds attractive when not dressed as a girl as much as when dressed and he's dark, pretty, and absolutely smooth. Once or twice someone particularly masculine will be on the "I'd hit that in the abstract" radar, partly the bodily envy of an athlete for another in play I think.

He's not age-phobic at all. A 60 year old crossdresser with a nice enough face and good enough butt with a stellar personality is game.

I'd say difference and femininity are generally the physical turnons, like mind the mental one. We began finishing each other's thoughts about three months after getting involved, it's freaky.

Our track season just ended this past weekend at the conference meet.

I used to be in little league when I was a kid. I always had a really high stolen base count. Couldn't hit for shit, but boy did the coaches love me running the bases.

And after being on a track and field team for a little under a decade, I feel it has both aspects. When you compete in events such as throwing or jumping where one person goes at a time the individual side of it comes out more. Running events here there are multiple competitors is more balanced, and then relay teams are just that... teams. I measure my personal success in PR's (personal records) and increasing the distance for the throws or lowering my time for the sprints, but why I work towards that is to get better and be able to score points for my team. If you finish in the top 8 places in a meet you score points, and the teams a re ranked according to their score. So there is a winning team for each meet. But besides that, if a majority of the athletes get a season best or a PR in a meet I definitely consider that team success.

And to answer your earlier question... the Tanzania program was a good one for my field of study. Plus I had a old fraternity brother go on the same trip and it was highly recommended.

Back to questions... I have 3.

1) If quizzes are quizicle, what are tests?

2)Paper or plastic?

and 3) If you could travel back in time to an era, which one would it be?

I've never heard a woman over 40 use the term "girl crush." Perhaps it's part of that generational push to convince all females they're all really bisexual!

Appreciation for physique - hmm. I'm not sure "appreciation" means, to me, what I infer it means to you. I definitely appreciated the size and strength of the guys who kept me alive for 4 years, and the ability of my favorite receiver to leap and run. And that last one had great hands! ;)

Today, I appreciate those who've stayed reasonably fit and healthy. In this respect, the one who ate himself into a heart attack really pissed me off.

Why would I want to sleep with someone I'd like to be like? That doesn't even make sense! Not that there's necessarily a rationale to physical attraction, of course, but that idea really does make me laugh.

I haven't seen the new Star Trek but am looking forward to it.
Me too, I'm hoping to go this weekend.

Notwithstanding his admonitions to the contrary, it sounds like Gabe can relate to filial concern. :)

Shame about the birds. Back when I lived on the west coast of Vancouver Island, bald eagles were so numerous they almost outnumbered the seagulls. Beautiful birds and amazing hunters. Lots of wild turkeys up around Nelson. Again, beautiful birds. Well, with the exception of vultures, there are few birds I wouldn't class as beautiful. Have you been to Costa Rica? The bird life there is off the charts!

Tennis, oh I miss tennis! What a challenging sport. Do prefer singles or doubles?

The entire Classical world was pretty much predicated on this idea.

Not that this should sway you, just my brand of geekiness.

I think it makes a lot of sense.

We're attracted to our complimentary opposite. I think we are drawn by the desire to experience life from their perspective and feel that intimate communion with them will bring us close to that.

Well, I said straight girls for a reason. I don't hear all that many queer women talking about their girl crushes! I don't think I want to sleep with someone I'd like to be like, but I tend to like female celebrities who are more like me than, say, Pamela Anderson. I don't know if physical attraction and I want to be like her are related are not.

That is wicked hot! I never thought of football in terms of men protecting other men, more like men slamming into each other. Maybe I'll try watching with that in mind. ;)

I agree completely with the complimentary opposite bit, but that's something different than what I thought she meant.

I was thinking that "someone I'd like to be like" would be a role model, or wiser, more skilled, or more successful version of what I already am.

Re the bold - I don't think I've ever met a guy like this. If I did, I wasn't paying attention.

Of course, I've met feminine guys. But likeminded? I don't really know.

The entire Classical world was pretty much predicated on this idea.

Okay, Michelangelo. There you go! I don't really know what he was like physically, but in terms of propensity and skill, he's my polar opposite. And I can honestly say I'm in awe.

1 - hardihar

2 - I bring my own.

3 - A little over 20 years ago. And you?

Thanks for the perspective on track. I've never been on a team that was anything other than a cooperative sport.

Singles, because I like to run around a lot.

I haven't been to Costa Rica. Are there birds on your current island?

If there was one piece of advice you had to offer me, what would it be?
I appreciate the question, very much. But I'm wary of handing out blanket advice, without more specifics.

One thing I've wondered about you is whether your personal goals are externally, or internally, based. Do you strive to achieve that which you believe will impress other people, or do you strive to please yourself?

That's a good question.

A criticism that I have endured for as long as I can remember is that I try too hard. Maybe I think I can trick people into offering me more esteem than I hold for myself.
