Questions for JMohegan

Close enough, but not too close. Same general metropolitan area.

Are your parents still on the opposite coast?

Huh. I misjudged you. I thought you would let this thread die.

Yes and maybe. Depends on your view of what happens after death.

He posts here? I didn't know that. What's his username?

He doesn't post too often. He spent most of his time here trying to hook me up. But then, once he was successful, he kind of bowed out of the picture and started watching.

He used to be Mike260. Now he's DamianCain.

Every couple of weeks or so I browse the thread titles but seldom read them much less post. This one however, reached out and grabbed me!

Hi JM! :)

Now for my question...What is your normal weekday attire? Weekend?

A lurker, huh.

*waves to the lucky guy* ;)

Callinectes!! Great to see you, woman! How the heck have you been?

ETA - to answer your question, it depends what I'm up to. If I've got a client meeting, I'm in a suit and tie. Most often, however, I've got on chinos or jeans and a polo shirt. Same thing on the weekend.

I am well! I've run across a couple of bumps in the road of late but overall life is very, very good. I hope all is well with you too!

Thanks for answering my question. :)

Well... some very good questions have been asked so far. I think I'll keep it going.

JM... you seem to be a man about town, a smooth operator, a cool cat, a dapper chap... but let me ask you a question. What would you do-oo-ooo for a Klondike bar?

*cough*

Boy, I'm glad there wasn't anything in my mouth when I read that.

... No, but I don't see anything wrong with it - as long as the fish ends up on somebody's plate.

Sport, to me, requires consenting human opponents, clearly delineated rules, a lot of movin' around, and in nearly every case - some kind of ball.

Do you enjoy fly fishing? ...
[rant]I have MAJOR issues with people who consider fishing and hunting to be sports. :mad:x100 The end result of both are to have something to eat. That's it!!![/rant] I LOVE fly-fishing. I grew up doing it with my Dad. It's one of the only things we can do together and get along fairly decently. We're way too much alike. Did/do you get along with yours well?

You're welcome, of course! :)

It's been a bumpy year for a lot of people, particularly when it comes to employment, budgets, and savings. Hard to find someone who isn't adjusting expectations or behavior in one way or another. Some I know are really struggling.

Glad to hear things are going so well for you overall. I'd describe myself as generally doing well, too.

*chuckling* Can't say I blame you for mocking my middle-aged attire.

So what are you crazy college kids wearing these days?

The answer to your question is nothing.

I've heard this exact thing about fly-fishing from a surprising number of people. So much so, that stress-free bonding almost seems endemic to the experience. Do you think it's the patience required? The serenity of the setting? Something else?

My dad was the first, and most significant, of two primary role models in my life - both of whom I revere to this day. I'm a lot like my dad in most ways, but we've nearly always enjoyed each other's company. It's tough for me to watch him age.

By no means was that meant to mock... I just a gentle razzing is needed from time to time.

And the crazy college kids (where I'm from at least)... from what I see have three different major style categories.

1)They wake up fairly early to be able to spend as much time as possible to make themselves look as good/preppy (sometimes equatable in their eyes) as possible. (i.e. hair, make-up, outfit completes the look they're going for, etc.)

2) The opposite, and that they just don't care.... wake up right before class, throw on some ratty jeans or sweatpants, keep their "bed head" hair-do most of the day (until they get ready to go out that night), and take their daily dose of "fuckitol."

3) Dress weird for the sake of... well weird. Flood pants, off color overalls, wrestling shoes all the time, capes (yes there is a girl on my campus sports one almost at all times... she's really nice though and a great conversationalist), Israeli Defense Force hats, Super Mario mustaches, clothing 5 sizes too big or too small, hand me downs from the seventies, and Blues Brothers sunglasses at all times. Not saying this is bad, just weird seeing people sporting track jackets from the '80's as clothing to wear to class.

I feel as though there should be some attempt at looking respectable on campus. The whole sweat pants approach seems to be showing a little disrespect (in my eyes) to the higher education system. When I studied at a university in Tanzania, every person dressed "to the t" for class. The nicest dresses and shoes the girls had, shirt and tie every day for the boys. They treated attending college as a honor, not a right... and as such dressed appropriately.

But I digress... what is your favorite medium of artistic expression? (i.e. sculpture, painting, poetry, food, photography, etc.)

This is my answer to that question: The cane. :D It and a few other similar instruments are about the only things with which I consider myself somewhat artistic. Though I fumble about a piano or guitar now and then, and enjoy photography of various sorts, none of those efforts can really be described as "artistic."

And a fine answer it is. Do you also dabble in paddle? Expanding your horizons allows for the blending of artistic forms.

I'd describe myself as generally doing well, too.

I am very glad to hear it.

Another question from me...

A long time ago I recall you and Marquis discussing which end of the pool you select women from (meaning the vanilla end as opposed to the experienced D/s end). One or both of you commented that inexperienced women were more desirable because they do not have an agenda. Is this a notion that you agree with? If so why?

:)

I believe the setting has a lot to do with it. We both really enjoy being outdoors. Especially in the mountains. There's also a need for silence so you don't scare the fish away. Which means we're not saying something that the other could take the wrong way. It does take a lot of patience. LOL Almost like meditating. -- I'm just happy we've been able to get along better the older I get, and the further away from each other we are. ;) I worry so much about him & Mom. :(

Semester abroad in Tanzania sounds fascinating. What prompted you to pick that spot?

I'm an athlete, not an artist. I think there's a level of abstract functioning necessary for the latter that I simply do not possess.

Speaking of athletics, 'Discus Dave' - do you throw?

Do you take pics of your 'artwork'?

I know a guy who sees caning as artistry. The walls in his rec room are covered with 8x10 shots. Not identifiable as to the person, but close-ups of his favorite patterns and stripes.

I am very glad to hear it.

I don't want to misrepresent anything Marquis said, so I looked for and found the exchange. Hopefully that refreshes your memory and answers your question. :)

Thanks for the answer on fly-fishing. That makes a lot of sense, and sounds really lovely too.

Are you worried because they are elderly, or because of something else?

<Evil chuckle> I'm sure H has made note of that little sound...

Percussive instruments are my forte: hand, paddle, flogger, wooden spoon, crop, cane, whatevers... If it smacks an ass (or occasionally other body parts), I like to have fun with it. :D

I have taken pics in the past, but no longer have any "in hand." I hope to have the opportunity to "paint new canvases" and record - and maybe share - them in the future, though.

Fishing and hunting are more skill than sport. I don't enjoy killing things unless I really want to eat them. Trout or maybe some ocean fish. And I'd shoot a turkey but that's about it. Turkeys are everywhere here. I saw two yesterday driving 14 miles to home.

Maybe doves. They are a little dark but taste good from what I remember.

I think I was 12 when I got my first gun.

I love wild turkeys. They're really cool, utterly unlike the domesticated.

Sorry, bird nut.

M said we could go birding this weekend. I feel prematurely 85, but I don't care.

This would not prevent me from eating one. I don't know if they're still on a list here or not though, I know they had to make a comeback.

I should ask JMo something, but I can't think what. Either his opinion of wild turkey vs. bald eagle, or if someone hit him with a sexuality change-o-ray who would he actually pick to have sweaty mansex with?

I can definitely say I'm a track athlete. Yes, I have been throwing discus now for almost 8 years and have been throwing javelin for the past 3 1/2. (Sprinkle in a little shot put and weight throw intermittently in there). Besides that I also run short sprints (100m, 200m dashes and the sprinting relays)

I'm an athlete, not an artist
What form of athletics have/do you take part in?

You are quite correct.

Personally, I side with Ben Franklin on this one.

I think turkeys are underrated too, but watching eagles at work is pretty amazing stuff. Sure, they're not above stealing or scavenging, but I think of it as Horatio Alger like whatever.
