So basically that statement says we're gay because it's just too hard to be straight because men are different?

One other problem with the entire "men and women are different and gay people want someone who's the same" premise is it assumes all women are the same and all men are the same. I don't know about the rest of you, but I've sure as hell not found this to be true.

My sleepy pills (fucking jet lag) are kicking in so I don't trust myself to be very coherent, but trust me - I know what I mean.

Really, all in all it's silly to expect someone to be able to explain why they are gay or bi or straight. For anyone who wants an explanation - Can you explain why you are attracted to the sex you're attracted to?

I don't dislike women. As a matter of fact, I like them a lot. I just happen to be emotionally attracted to men... it has nothing to do with men and women being the same or different from me. I like dick and I like what they're attached to.
(What I'm saying, TGP, to make it very clear, people are not attracted to one sex or the other because they're repulsed by the other one, as evidenced by bisexuals who are attracted to either gender. It has much more to do with emotions than physical apparatus.)

*shrugs* Seems like an iffy area of cause and effect. I would say that a woman being a lesbian is the same thing as her wanting to have sex with women and not with men.

I don't think that for most women who are lesbians it has anything to do with disliking men, they just don't find guys sexually appealing. We have enough other random hang-ups about the qualities we look for in a partner that go completely unexplained, why not this?
