Questions for Lesbian Couples

When you've falled in love and moved in and everything... do you have a communal tampon supply, or do each of you keep your own?

Do you buy the multi-boxes that have four different absorbencies? If so, is it a simular situation to buying crisps in multi-bags, where a certain kind (usually smoky bacon with crisps) are always left behind?

The smoky bacon ones never get left behind because you can fry one up with your eggs when you are out of bacon .................................. but they kinda taste like tofu ............................... or tofu with smoky bacon tampons .................... also you should never cook up a used one ..................... that is just disgusting and you need to see a vampire therapist.

Have a banana with your breakfast.

And ...... see ya, Lisa.

I don't dislike women. As a matter of fact, I like them a lot. I just happen to be emotionally attracted to men... it has nothing to do with men and women being the same or different from me. I like dick and I like what they're attached to. :D
(What I'm saying, TGP, to make it very clear, people are not attracted to one sex or the other because they're repulsed by the other one, as evidenced by bisexuals who are attracted to either gender. It has much more to do with emotions than physical apparatus.)

TGP do you REALLY think women are lesbians because they don't like penii? Get real. It's the other way round. They don't like male-attached penii BECAUSE they are lesbians. They are attracted to women.

Is 'penii' really the plural of 'penis'?

I never knew that!

I still don't know what lesbian couples do with their tampax, but at least I've learned what the plural of 'penis' is. :cathappy:

Lisa, your post turned my stomach... I'm not keen on smoky bacon crisps, because they repeat on me - like I can eat a packet at 10am and still be getting bacon-flavoured burps at midnight.

Ych!

I think I might be turning Jewish, because I've just gone off bacon completely...

Really? Sounded to me like the tampon sitch between co-habiting sisters. Each has their own, but you nick the other person's if you're desperate :)

What the hell's a mooncup, Mils?

TGP, when hetero men masturbate, are they rejecting the matriachal power of the vagina? Do they yearn for the touch of a strong male hand on their penis? There are two sides to this coin. First, the basic need for sexual gratification that we all have and is fundamentally mechanical.

When I reach for a rabbit I have much more base thoughts than rejecting phallocentric tyranny. Sexual gratification is somewhat different from what is horribly called 'orientation'.

The whole range of friendships, emotional attachments and desire can't be easily classified. For years, when I needed comfort, I fled to the appartment of two gorgeous gay friends. We kissed, we cuddled and they put me back together again. But it was completely non-sexual, like brothers and their younger sister, really. We love each other, we would do anything to help each other - they just don't see me in a sexual way.

That surely is the point. I won't claim credit for it cos I think I read it in one of Vella's posts. The sex isn't the main thing, it's the cuddling.

Love is a combination of trusting someone with your life and wanting the feel of a warm body close to you as you kiss goodnight and when you wake up in the morning. As Vella said, the bodily demands of release are secondary to the desire to be intimate with someone you truly love. I can't tell you who turns me on until I meet them. I've got a bunch of close friends who I love, but don't fancy.

Am I strange?

Honest, I may be simple, but I truly believe that is the point.

Daughters, Sisters, Flatmates

I don't think the problem is specific to lesbians but to people living together who borrow from each other.

My wife and daughters used to raid each other's supplies and Dad had to be sent out late-night shopping when the rows over the missing items became too intense. At one stage I had a concealed store that I could produce if required, until a daughter found it.

My experience in sharing flats, all-male and mixed, seemed to have parallels with razor blades, anti-perspirant, soap, and any other product that could be borrowed. The fury on a Saturday night when the last non-blunt razor blade had been taken for leg-shaving...

Visiting daughters still raid their parents' fridge and food store cupboards. We buy Kit-Kats (a two-finger chocolate biscuit) but we rarely eat them. Raiding daughters seem to remove a couple of dozen two-finger bars every month.

It's cos you didn't learn Latin at schooland wasted time on that Cymru am Byth stuff.

Suppose you haven't heard of dominatrix and fellatrix. It's also vulvae, but few of us qualify. :D

Cer i grafu dy din! :p

Dominatrix I've heard of... and fellatio... are 'vulvae' what you see when two women sit naked together?

You're right, though - I didn't learn any Latin in school. I went to the local comp and got taught things that were relevant to modern life ;)

So much potential for argument... I'm starting to think that if I ever settle down with anyone it's going to be better if we each have our own supply.

It does sound more contemporary, you're right...

I don't know anything anymore... Not that it matters, because I'm not likely to ever have a conversation about one penis, let alone two of them. :rose:

That is sensible.

I walked into a row today at the local museum I visit regularly. They usually supply me with a cup of coffee with one spoon of sugar because I can't stand the sweeteners they use. There was no sugar.

The various people who make the cup of coffee for me don't use sugar but sweeteners. Those two who do use sugar don't usually make their own coffee. So no one noticed that they were out of sugar.

The person who buys the sugar (and coffee, tea, milk etc.) was annoyed because no one had told him that the sugar had run out. Those who take sugar in their coffee didn't know because they didn't make their own coffee. Those who made the coffee didn't know because the sugar is kept in three separate containers and just because one was empty didn't necessarily mean all were empty.

Sugar can be bought in a supermarket one hundred yards away.

For once, I had coffee with sweetener. Next time I'll bring my own sugar before war is declared.

Oh, that's so true. Those particular conversations usually end up with high-pitched sounds rather than slurs.

Hold on, I gotta go change. It's getting cold sitting here soaked. *shivers*

Drinking any kind of kettle slop always causes problems, because people are always so damn picky over how they take it. Some people have milk, others don't. And then there are the million and one varieties of milk that people put in their tea and coffee - full fat, semi skimmed, skimmed, UHT, goats milk, soya milk etc. etc. And then there's the whole sugar / sweetener / honey thing and how much of it to add.

My aunt is one of the easiest people in the world to make hot drinks for. All she drinks is boiling water, and there's no way in hell you can run out of ingredients for it, not fuck it up when you're making her a cup.

LOL - I dunno that penii is correct, but it sounds good when trying to make a hard point a little softer. Lol

To answer your questions:
I lived with a chick for five years. We liked different brands, so it was never an issue, although in some circumstances we had to share the supply. Fortunately, we always had more than enough tampons and pads. Even if we did run out, and I do recall one time when we ran out, it wasn't an issue. Either she ran and got more or I did. I think it was me who did the getting.

Personally, I am more upset when we run out of milk or toilet paper. Giggle all you want. lol

I used to run out of food when I was at uni. I lived with this anorexic chick, who never went grocery shopping, because she wasn't in to food. But instead she'd host these lavish dinner parties, where she'd invite about 10 people over... and of course, she never had anything to feed them, so she'd raid my supplies and promise to replace them, which she never did.

The supermarket was two miles away, and wasn't on a bus route. I lost half a stone when I was living with her. I'm just glad she never found my tampax...

LOL, just be glad YOU never ran out of Tampex. If she was anorexic, she probably never had a period. :catroar:

Mooncup
I love love love mine.

Basically a small silicone cup you insert like a tampon. They last for about 20 years, are ecologically friendly (no pads or tampons to dispose of) and they are so *so* much more comfortable than pads or tampons. Also you only need to check/clean it once or twice a day (they say twice for health reasons, but it doesn;t matter if you forget one) and I have never ever ruined a pair of knickers whilst wearing one. Brilliant things.

Told you I was evangelical. And no, they don't pay me. :D
