There is a lot of great information here if you take the time to look. I agree the forum can be really funny, and I have enjoyed talking to the few people I've met from here. On the other hand I think it can be a bit cliquish depending on how "real" a poster is perceived to be -

I agree with that statement, which was posted by redelicious earlier. I mainly just lurk.

At first I did feel like I had waded into a personal forum and that I would have to fight for a voice so to speak. I still don't feel totally a home, but as with most forums it takes time for people to open up and be themselves without fear of being shot down. I think these are general feelings related to any forum not just this one. I think from a newbie's point of view its harder to deal with being ignored than it is to be bashed for a post. As in real life, it takes time for people to get to know someone.

As time has gone on, I have gotten to know and respect some lovely people by reading their posts and seeing a little into their world. I have most respect for the posters that can move past a 'rift' on the boards (bless you AA) and perhaps see past things that may have caused issues. The ones I don't particulary have much respect for are the ones who follow others opinions like sheep. I think if your gonna write posts in a forum, then being yourself and having your own opinions is an honest and true way to get to know people.

The BDSM boards have helped me in many ways, and also my SO even though he lurks at the moment. Even the arguments that sometimes occur provide great food for thought, allowing people to really speak out without fear of being ejected. That is one of the good things about this board.

I guess the fact I am posting means I like it here :D

I come here about once every couple of weeks or so to see if there is anything interesting. Usually, the same threads are still on the front page of the BDSM forum, and the cafe still has nothing for me. I give it a "D". The only thing saving it from an "F" is the rare insightful thread, and some interesting posts from some interesting people like Marquis, Netzach, and C&F. This place used to be a hell of a lot more interesting than it is these days.

So come back and post more often - as I recall it, one of the reasons it was a hell of a lot more interesting/entertaining was your posts... you quite often had a point of view that made others think.

I miss you, Anelize.

A bit less fuzzy huggy is a good thing, and I have to agree that I have trouble being interested in anything in the forum itself these days and have for a while.

:) I think this thread has brought up a lot of good points which can be used to our advantage. Perhaps a positive note would be for those who do not find enough to interest them in relation to the theme of the board, to be proactive and add something interesting for everyone to enjoy. I for one will not have a problem with it and I try to keep up with it, but as most will realise, a discussion board will not remain alive and stimulating if there is little or no discussion and input from only a few....it needs variety and joint effort. It is a form of entertainment but cannot exist in a vaccum without contributions from many.

I gave it a d for disappointing. It just seems that there are very few real discussions anymore. I spend a lot less time here than I use to for that reason,

I like the board.

I don't like some of the people on the board.

There is a difference.

I'm not a fan of fluff and flirting, so I get rather annoyed with those that constantly crash threads with comments that make little or no sense to anyone but themselves and the person they are directing it at.

However...it takes all kinds. If the entire forum was filled with people that post the same way I do, it would be dull as dishwater. I'm a dull, serious sort. I like serious discussion and fun and fluff kept separate. I'm easily annoyed by many of the personalities here. I'm betting I annoy them too.

It's been a lot nicer around here since the "we talked about that a year ago, go away" attitude has toned down. I feel more comfortable posting than I ever have, and I've been here a few years.

I think there is a wide range of topics with a lot of input and thought put into answers by some, and it stays fairly active. That's pretty rare to find. It's worth putting up with those that I'd rather not be around.

The PYL/pyl thing could definately take a hike though. Heh.

I rated it a C. Room for improvement, but passes the grade.
