Reading Books For Pleasure

I am about 3/4 of the way through "Fearless Fourteen", I always love :D the Stephanie Plum books she gets in so many odd situations they make me laugh out loud. Of course Grandma Mazur  is still up to her funny antics and the scenes with her family are the best. So far a great read.

Grandma Mazur cracks me up..she is a nut and gets herself into so much trouble all the time...It is so cool to see another Plum fan!

I am very pleased with myself....found a Dean koontz i haven't read yet in a secondhand bookshop. Not started it yet though.

Have just begun reading Éat, Pray, love'' by Elizabeth Gilbert - one womans search for everything. It seemed an apt time to read it.

So far my favorite words are Dantes description of god';

"Lámor che move il sole e Láltre stella" or the love that moves the sun and the other stars. Beautiful.

So far i am enjoying the read and can identify with lots. It makes me titter', like her friends suggestion that she is like a not for profit agency 'divorcees without borders'and I am hoping it will throw some words of wisdom at me. Now that I could do with.

Oh and ps. as embassador for ''Yes Man'' lol. One more plug......Please read it before it comes out as a movie. Cos i reckon the movie is gonna be crap

I love that one! About the only Dean Koontz I didn't like was Dark Rivers of the Heart and Icebound... I found them both less interesting than his others.

My favourites are Watchers and Lightning.

I agree with you about Icebound..that is one book that I did NOT read all the way through...

WOOHOO I got Fearless Fourteen today..So I will be burying my head in the book later tonight!!

Finished Fearless Fourteen last night...

I just loved that book..So much to laugh about in it too!

The monkey incident cracked my ass up!

Poor Tank!

Won't say anything else as I don't want to spoil it for those that have not read it..But it is classic Plum!

I love Tank. wouldn't you just love to roll around with Ranger and his men? :D Oh yes:D

I was reading Wild Jinx by Sandra Hill, but just purchased two Supernatural books (tv ties in with the tv show) and am so excited. :D Dean and Sam in a book format - pure heaven.:D

I just finished Darkest Pleasure by Gena Showalter. Not bad. I'd buy her stuff, if their was nothing else to read.

I love Tank too..Lula kills me..LOL...Oh god yes I would love to roll around with Ranger..LMAO..UMMM HMmmm..:D

I was actually just thinking of making her a player character in a new Vampire game I might role play in. LMAO!

I REALLY liked Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin. If you are into death as a central theme or more accurately, afterlife, this might be a happy book for you too!

I enjoyed it way better than A Brief History of the Dead or The First Five People You Meet In Heaven which both let me down. To me Elsewhere is the book those others should have been!

Next up?

From Dead to Worse by Charlaine Harris. I'm sure to enjoy it!

I was just curious as to when you find time to read. Are you able to grab some alone time and totally lose yourself in the story? I've always loved reading, but in the last several years found myself unable to sit still and concentrate on a book. I also love walking, but my mind would often wander to dark places better left unvisited. Consequently, I combined the two activities, and walked over 1,000 miles in one year, reading nearly every step of the way. I walked the beach trails, the parks... and even walked back and forth on my own block during a time I had to be 'within a minute' of home. It was therapy...and escape...and much needed fresh air. After nearly a 2 year hiatus, I walked Mile Square Park this morning while losing myself in a Koontz book. *grin* Felt SO GOOD to be able to escape like that. (and in case you're wondering, I've only fallen once, but there have been several recovered stumbles)

BTW, I've been reading Koontz for years. Think I've read all his books except perhaps the latest couple. Gotta dig out those older ones and give 'em a go.
