Turk, pour me the tallest, coldest draft you have. I just completed the first 8 hrs of one of my education courses. That's good news, of course, but 8 straight hours of "rubrics", Sunshine State Standards, and education "strategies" is enough to drive anybody bananas. Every discipline has its cant and to be successful in my profession requires me to learn educationese, but it will numb your brain. I also spent those 8 hours sitting beside -- Denice. I've noticed that every adult course I've ever been in has one self absorbed, insecure blabbermouth who's sole purpose is not to learn anything but to convince the rest of us that he/she already knows more than the rest of us ever will. God forgive me, but I did fantasize sticking a pencil in her throat. The day was saved by Jennifer, in whom I fantasized sticking something completely different. Thankfully, the instructor requires us in the interest of "community" to sit beside someone new each and every class. (cue the angelic chorus: Alleluia)
