"Sacrificial Lamb"

Glynis gently touched, then grasped Gregor’s shoulder. He felt a surge of energy, a tingle that seemed to invade his entire body. He'd never felt anything like it, and it scared him a bit. The word witch came to his brain, and while he couldn't recall any of the stories he'd heard as a child, he knew they were about magical people you showed respect, less you disappear in the dark of night never to see your parents again.

“Just as I thought,” the Midwife said softly, reaching to Gregor's forehead. “I think you know exactly what to do my dear.”

Somehow, Gregor knew exactly what the woman was telling him, and he immediately began shaking his head slowly side to side. "I can't do that. Don't make me do that ... please. Don't make me do that to Ann."

But he could see in Glynis's face that she was going to make him do that ... because it was the only thing that would save Ann's life. Gregor looked to the woman he loved. She was white, death just hours ... no, minutes away. Unless he...

Gregor grimaced as a shot of familiar pain ripped through his body. The Beast was coming alive. Ironically, this time it was because he was, in a way, calling it out. He found he had to reach much deeper within his soul than he thought. The Beast was used to coming out when it wanted, not when Gregor wanted.

But he found it, and curling down into a near fetal position, he felt the Beast's power growing. He lifted his head and looked directly into Glysis's face. His eyes were already golden as he growled, "Protect my son."

Gregor began changing, right there in the hovel's balcony bedroom. He hadn't done this in the presence of others in over forty years, since that horrible and wonderful day that he ended Catriona's decades of horror. Another wave of pain ripped through Gregor, and he arched his back, looked up toward the roof of the decrepit home, and howled long and loud...

...and then Gregor's mind was lost to the Beast.

Glynis was silently watching Gregor, but when he became overwhelmed with his impending change she turned away. She needed to get the grandparents, and the baby out of here. Glynis went down the stairs quickly and walked over to the trio. The baby was still crying though his cries seemed to be softer now. Glynis stared at the child wondering if he could sense what was happening to his father. She touched the baby’s head and looked up at Yuli before speaking.

“Get out of here now!” she moved her hand away from the child and gestured to the door.

Yuli looked startled and his eyes went up to the attic where Gregor’s cries of pain, and other strange noises persisted, “But Ann! I will not leave my daughter with that man.”

Glynis shook her head, “Yuli you fool! She has been with him for months, and if she is not with him now she will die!”

Yuli was confused, but the look from Ann’s mother silenced his attempts at further questions. She rushed him out the door carrying their grandchild in her arms.

Glynis watched them go, and waited until they had walked through the door before barring it with several chairs. The villagers did not need to die today, nor did they need to hurt the two new parents. This was going to be an ordeal for everyone involved.

The howl echoed through the small hovel, and Glynis rushed towards the stairs. Gregor would need her help with this. She wasn’t sure how much she could do to reach him, but she would try. It would be a test for the both of them in control.

“Gregor,” Glynis said to the beast standing before her. It turned its head towards her and let out a low growl. “No!” she exclaimed and moved swiftly towards it. She grasped the beast’s head between her hands knowing now that if Gregor wanted to kill her he could easily do so.

She probed in his head again though this time it was much more difficult. The beast was fighting her not understanding the sudden intrusion into his head.

“You know what to do,” she said again, whispering. The human side of Gregor was almost lost beneath the beast, but she found him still the same. The beast turned away from her suddenly and looked at the silent form of Ann upon the bed. A low whining escaped him, but Glynis pushed his side.

“Go! You don’t have much time, it will be quicker than your own. She is near death,” Glynis said pushing the beast once more. It jumped forward suddenly and took Ann’s hand in its mouth. Her hand was quickly dwarfed, and in the quiet of the cabin Glynis could hear the crunch of bones inside its mouth. She saw the look that filled the beast’s eyes, but Glynis stepped forward once more and held tightly to Gregor.

She filled him with all the happy memories of Ann that she had seen before, and just as she did so the beast released her hand. Its mouth was coated with Ann’s blood, but it tilted its head to the ceiling and let out another mournful howl. Faintly she could hear screams of anger outside, and a banging, but Glynis was focused on Ann. The girl’s breathing had increased, but nothing much had changed yet.

Without warning Ann’s back arched tightly and a guttural scream ripped from her lips. Her eyes opened, and Glynis could see that they had changed to a golden hue. Her hand meanwhile was somehow healing itself, the bones popping back into place only long enough to begin changing shape. Ann was becoming the beast.

Gregor was only minimally aware of Glynis's return because, simply, he was only minimally aware. But the Beast, which was almost fully transformed, turned its head, very aware of the woman's presence as she hollered an unknown word at it, “Gregor.”

It growled low at her, lowering its head, ready to strike. But it didn't. The woman did something no one had ever done, not even Catriona so many decades earlier: she moved to the Beast and reached out for it. She grasped it's head between her hands and, must as Gregor had before it, a surge of energy rushed through it that was unknown, a bit startling, and -- in this case -- paralyzing. The Beast simply stared into her eyes, its bared fangs, still lengthening, slowly fading from view as its snarling lips began to close.

“You know what to do,” the woman said, her mind more than her mouth talking to the Beast. It turned away, looking at the woman laying before it, dying.

The Beast had seen many a dying woman in its years. More often than not, it had been responsible for those deaths, either directly through attack or indirectly through chase or neglect or simple fright. But, this woman dying before it wasn't dying because of the Beast. And, somehow, the Beast knew that she could possibly live on because of it.

A low whining slipped from its gullet. There was something sorrowful about this human -- this animal that would typically be prey -- dying before it. The Beast remembered this woman and cared for her. It had seen her before. Long ago...? Yes, long ago, during the lambing season. She had come to it, come to him; she had come to the woods to belong to it ... to him.

“Go!" the woman still clutching the Beast's skull commanded. "You don’t have much time, it will be quicker than your own. She is near death.”

The Beast -- Gregor -- remembered being turned so long ago, and it -- he -- recalled how he'd been saved after so many generations by this woman dying before ... him!

Yes, him! Gregor was coming back, he was reclaiming his body from the Beast. Normally, that would have been a good thing, but as he began to reclaim his consciousness, he also began to fully understand what the Midwife had been pushing him to do: save his Love.

Only just beginning to revert to his human self, Gregor lunged forward and bit into Ann's flesh. His body eruption in revulsion at the taste of her blood and at the thought of what he was doing to her. He -- Gregor -- knew it was the right thing to do: he had to save Ann's life, even if it meant turning her into ... into a Beast.

Ironically, the taste of his Love's blood in his mouth, the sound of her bones crushing between his powerful jaws, and the knowledge of the horrendous thing he was doing to another human suddenly caused Gregor to begin changing again. He was becoming the Beast once more, and this time he wouldn't be able to control the rage and--

And suddenly, his brain was filled with Ann. He didn't feel Glynis's hands on his skull again, didn't know that she was flooding his human consciousness with thoughts of Gregor's wondrous life with the dying woman.

The Gregor-Beast opened its jaws and Ann's arm fell free, and another mournful howl escaped it, echoing throughout the hovel, out the windows and gaps in the old walls, and across the village.

Outside, the villagers -- certain that the Beast was ripping apart all within -- were banging at the doors to get in and kill it. But Gregor didn't hear them. All he heard was Ann's laughter and cries of ecstasy and chastising when her Master entered her clean home with mud covered boots. He didn't see the barricade behind the hovel's entrance collapsing, beginning to clear the way for the mob's entry. All he saw was the young woman straddling him making love, adding unknown herbs to his rabbit stew, and growing in her middle with his future son.

But the real world around him suddenly burst through, and -- quickly becoming the Beast in ever fiber of its being -- Gregor looked to the door and saw the villagers bursting through.

He launched himself from the attic, landing amidst the first handful of men armed with axes and pitch forks and scythes. His massive form collided with the smaller creatures, knocking them every direction even as he continued forward, crashing through the wall and sending mud and straw materials all about the porch.

The Beast stopped just outside the home, lowered its head, then howled so loudly that those who didn't immediately turn and run had to cover their ears to prevent their drums from bursting. The savage creature ran a zig zag pattern away from the home, intentionally colliding with those still facing it down.

Ironically, as it attacked, the Beast kept its claws and fangs under control: bodies flew in every direction, but no soul met its maker that day. In just seconds the still growling and howling Beast was in the woods, with no evidence left of it except the sound of its body crashing through the underbrush.

The Beast eventually stopped its howling, but for a reason the humans behind him wouldn't have understood. The Beast was trying to hide the sound of its kind back in the loft. Just as a parent animal would lure predators away by exposing itself, the Beast had hoped that the villagers would not hear Ann's own growls from the attic bed.

It wouldn't know whether or not it worked for sometime, however...

The few villagers still left in the hovel rose to their feet. They tested their limbs and decided they were unhurt which was a miracle considering the massive brute that had just charged through the circle of men. They were about to leave when they heard a cry of pain from the attic upstairs. The three men looked at one another in confusion. Hadn’t the beast left? Who was being hurt upstairs?

They rushed to the stairs and climbed swiftly up the steps. When they all emerged on the floor they could see nothing at first while their eyes adjusted to the darkness. Then through the thick, inky, black a pair of golden eyes stared out at them, and a rumbling growl filled the small space. The men backed up against the wooden banister that blocked them from the floor above. Fear permeated through their pores just as another growl rumbled in their very bones.

“Get out of here!” a yell came from the corner of the loft.

A flash of bright reddish-brown fur darted above their head, and then there was nothing but the sound of footsteps behind them on the floor below. They charged down the stairs and left the small hovel just in time to see the beast dashing through the thick undergrowth of the forest. The three men looked at each other again. There were two beasts!

****************

Ann was running through the undergrowth. Her mind was lost to the animal within and all she knew was to run. The old woman back at the hut had filled her mind with something strange, and so she ran. She ran from the men, ran from the noise of the village, and crashed through the brush. Her feet pounded into the earth carrying her away from it all. Ann collided with something softer than the branches around her, and tumbled forward.

She jumped to her feet and swung around to see another beast much like herself. There was no flicker of recognition and the flight that had coursed through her system turned into anger. This thing before her was a threat. She curled her lips back in a snarl exposing her canines as she snapped at the air near the other beast.

The Gregor-Beast was in the middle of a small clearing, standing in silence, sniffing the air and listening to the sounds coming from the now distant village. There had been a growl that had been unmistakably beastly. It had never heard the sound of a fully changed Beast before. It crouched behind a downed tree, continuing to listen.

Soon enough, it was obvious that the Ann-Beast was coming this way, following the exact path that the Gregor-Beast had followed, the path Gregor had carried Ann down to get to the village hours earlier.

Even though it knew the other Beast was coming, the larger male version was surprised at how quickly it shot out of the undergrowth into the small clearing. It waited until the second Beast was leaping over the downed log at full speed to partially rise and swat a paw -- claws retracted -- at the fast moving creature.

The other Beast twisted in the air and crashed to the ground. But it quickly rolled to its feet and took a defensive posture, snapping its big fangs in the air viciously. The Gregor-Beast mimicked the other, with a mighty bellow that the unseen villagers who'd entered the forest armed heard, causing them to pause, then turn back.

Whereas the Ann-Beast felt no recognition in her counterpart, the Gregor-Beast felt something. It couldn't have explained the sense, of course: it was a nearly mindless animal operating on instinct. But there was something there.

It began to encircle the second creature slowly, never taking its eyes off the female Beast. Then, instinct told the Beast exactly what that sensation was: lust. The Gregor-Beast had never seen a female of its species before, at least not fully changed. Mother Nature was screaming out inside his head, causing his second head to twitch and grow with anticipation.

It leaped at the female, closing the distance in half in a flash, growling, snapping, slashing its claws in the air ... and all the time looking for a safe way to get behind the Ann-Beast ... and mount it.

Ann was darting around whipping her body this way and that as the other beast danced around her. He kept trying to get behind her, but Ann was not having any of it. She snarled and snapped the general ruckus the two were causing was enough to frighten the villagers back to their homes. They were establishing a line of defense. The rumors that there was more than one beast was spreading like wildfire.

Ann whipped around again as the other beast pressed a heavy paw into her back. She felt the weight of him pushing her into the ground, but she managed to wiggle herself free. She lunged for the other beast’s neck and felt the thick fur blocking her bite. He was snapping at her trying to get himself free, and in all the movement his pheromones filled her nostrils. There was something deep within that Ann recognized in that scent so she released her hold on the other beast’s neck and quickly retreated from him. Her head lowered as she gave a low whine of confusion. Her ears flattened back against her skull. Her teeth were still exposed, but this time her snarls were more defensive and less directed towards the attack.

The two Beasts were sending a cloud of dust and leaves into the air as they performed their violent dance. The Gregor-Beast felt the other sink her fangs into his neck, and fear shot through its heart. But she wasn't able to penetrate him and--

The Ann-Beast suddenly withdrew. The larger of the two lycanthropes didn't understand that the smaller had suddenly had a sense of recognition as he had earlier. And at this moment, it really didn't matter to him. He was on a mission and whether this other creature knew him or not was irrelevant.

The male towered over the covering female, growling deeply, his animal tone putting forth his instinctive intent without question. He neared her, curling around her but always keeping his saliva dripping fangs exposed and close to her face.

In a flash, the huge beast was on her, grasping her smaller form with the dexterity of the human that he normally was but with the fierceness of the Beast that he was at the moment...

The breeding of the two beasts was lost to Gregor. He wouldn't remember any of it when he regained his human consciousness and found himself in his full human form...

...naked...

...lying atop his Love, also naked, face down on the forest floor.

He was deep inside her...

...and he instantly exploded in joyful tears, clutching her tightly to him.

Ann woke to her face pressed tightly against the earth. She felt someone behind her, and his cock inside her. She almost screamed in fright until she realized it was Gregor. He gripped her tightly in his arms his tears splashing down onto her back and shoulders. Confusion ebbed in her head she could not remember how she had gotten here, nor how she ended up naked on the ground. While Gregor held her Ann could feel his cock stirring inside her, going from its somewhat soft state to a hard rod.

Ann lifted her hips up from the ground and arched her back into the ground so her rear pressed tightly into Gregor’s groin. She couldn’t explain it, but Ann was unbelievably aroused, and sexually needy. She wanted him here in the middle of the forest. One arm went back and grabbed his hip pulling her to him as she wiggled her butt against his groin. It felt good to have him buried so deeply, and even more so when his cock came to life while inside her. She didn’t know how they had ended up in this position, but she did not care.

It was the most emotional moment of Gregor's unnaturally long life, and that was saying a lot, considering how long he'd been alive, who he was, and what he had done in those many years. Add to that the feel of Ann forcing his growing cock deeper into her, and Gregor's human mind was as filled with lust as the Beast's had been prior to reverting back.

He grasped her hips tightly and began pounding her roughly. It wasn't anything new: they had often made love in a hard fashion back before Ann revealed her pregnancy to Gregor. After that, their love making had become significantly more gentle, althought the orgasms -- many by mouth or fingers -- continued the joy the shared.

Ann felt different to Gregor. She had, of course, just birthed his son. But different didn't mean bad, and it didn't take long for the pleasure coming from her pussy and energetic gyrations to drive Gregor to orgasm. He bellowed with satisfaction as his cock erupted, and when his lungs were capable of more, the air escaped him in joyous laughter.

Gregor still had his Love, his lover, his savior, and -- momentarily forgetting what he'd done to her at the cabin -- he was the happiest man in the world.

Ann was enjoying the hard thrusts of Gregor’s hips forcing her into the ground. She pushed herself in tighter into his groin. When his cock swelled within her and she felt the gush of cum forcing itself out of her pussy it was pure delight. Ann had not reached her own orgasm, but the sensation of Gregor’s animalistic fucking was enough to keep her satiated for the moment. She laid her head back against the ground feeling Gregor’s breath blowing against her neck. He was breathing heavily still pinning her to the ground. Her stomach was pressed-

Her stomach!

Ann raised her head quickly and with a strength she did not know she pushed Gregor off her and onto his back. His cock flopped back against his belly while she sat up and grasped at her stomach. Her belly was flat and smooth much like it had been before she had been pregnant. Ann’s eyes went wild with fear and confusion as she turned toward Gregor.

“Where is the baby?” she asked.

Gregor's head was still lost in euphoria as Ann threw him off her and began ranting. He barely heard her words, and when they finally made sense to him, he said through heavy breaths, "The village ... he is at ... the village ... with your parents."

He laid back on his back on the ground, his still hard cock swollen and glistening in her juices.

"He's safe ... Ann. "He's healthy and ... safe."

He’s safe Ann. He is healthy and safe.

Ann glanced at Gregor just as all the memories of the past few hours came flooding back. She remembered waking up in the hovel, and speaking with her mother. She remembered the excruciating pain and the blood that had pooled beneath her on the bed. She had passed out for a while and woke to Glynis advising her to push. It had been a long arduous labor, but in the end she felt him slide between her thighs, and then it was nothing but blackness. She did not remember anything until she had woken again to a different kind of pain.

Her body changed before her eyes and became something she had never expected to be. She was frightened but it had all been out of her control, and the only voice of reason was one telling her to get out. She ran and did not stop until she had come across another like her own. She had not known it was Gregor until sometime later, and after that the two beasts had engaged in an act that was normally reserved for breeding.

Ann’s eyes settled on Gregor’s still hard erection and a smirk spread across her features. Somehow she had become exactly what Gregor was and the two of them were bound as mates in both forms. She crawled between his legs and lowered her head until she licked the crease of his scrotum up to the head of his shaft. Her eyes were glowing a golden hue, but she was unaware of it.

Gregor was laying flat on his back, staring up at the late afternoon sky. So much had happened in so little time: less than twelve hours the lives of Gregor, Ann, her parents, their son, and even the villagers change or begin in ways most would never have imagined.

He was still breathing hard from his climax when he felt Ann parting his legs and crawling between his thighs. He didn't lift his head for fear that what he hoped she was doing she actually wasn't.

A smile spread wide across his face as he felt her tongue on his cock, and it amazed him that so quickly after having birthed his child, Ann could be feeling the same lust for him as he had always felt for her. As her lips played with the head of his shaft, her tongue playing with the hole that was still letting a drip or two of his cum escape as he flexed his groin muscles, he risked a glance at her--

And saw those eyes!

He sat up quickly, snatching her at the upper arms and pulling her close to him. "Stop!"

He shook her, repeating his command, adding, "Ann! You must stop!"

Gregor wasn't sure what was scaring him, but seeing Ann's eyes like that made him fear she was turning. And he knew that he himself wasn't. What would happen if Ann became the Beast out her in the woods with Gregor and Gregor himself remained a man? Would he become the Beast when presented with the danger of her? He didn't know, and he didn't want to risk it.

He clutched her close to him, pleading, "Ann, stay with me. Stay with me, my love. Stay with me and our son."

Ann! You must stop!

Ann stared at Gregor in confusion and at the same time felt a ripple of pain grip through her. She could see the fear in his eyes. She was changing, and there was nothing that would stop this. She pushed Gregor from her. She needed to get away from him as soon as possible or else things would end up much the same way for her as it had been for Gregor. She scrambled to her feet, but pain was ripping through her and it was so hard to concentrate.

She stumbled blindly through the forest, and then finally she could walk no more. Her spine popped and a painful howl ripped through her lungs. She felt her head become displaced and her teeth lengthened. When her hands pressed into the earth around her they turned swiftly into paws, and from there everything was lost to her. The beast took over and Ann ran on four paws towards a goal she could not name.

The village emerged before her glowing like a lantern in the fog. She sniffed the air slowly noting the stench of livestock, and the human presence. Some stray villagers near her turned suddenly when they noticed her presence. Their screams were short lived as she launched herself at them and felt their bodies crunch between her teeth. She went through the village killing anyone that was unfortunate enough to cross the beast's path.

It was the cries of a newborn that finally brought Ann back. The trembling woman clutching to the child laid the baby at Ann’s feet almost as an offering, but Ann’s beast did not attack. She felt her human self fighting within her, fighting to reach the surface as the beast lowered its head to the child. The baby was staring at the creature with knowing eyes, and reached out its tiny little hand to grasp onto the wet nose of the Beast. With that all of Ann’s human form came back to her. She stood before the baby naked as much he was. The two of them disappeared in the forest shortly after, leaving the devastation of the village behind them.

(OOC: This is the last and final post for Ann and Gregor. Thanks to all those who have followed along with us while we wrote this tale. We hope you enjoyed reading it as much as we enjoyed writing it!)

This was a fun RP, with twists randomly tossed in by both writers. Belvino and I are writing other RPs together, and of course we are each writing with others. If you enjoyed this RP, I am tickled. If you want to read more of our writing, click on the left to find our running RPs or PM us.
