*'Sanctuary' for Us *

Isis

After her meeting and plans were set in motion she moved on to the next little stop. Walking into the fairly upscale office she glanced to the receptionist.

Inform your employer... that I am here.

The woman behind the desk knew exactly who she was and quickly fled the room to comply simply to get away from her. There were two "families" still in existence among the protoHEP felines at least that was the way it was around here and one never ventured this deep into the city... with good reason... the last time the others saw her she was less than sane and more than willing to kill.

What brings you here Isis... the old voice called out.

I may have at least one vampire for your ever capable sons to... terminate... beyond that I can in my final favor... There is something in Ireland that seems to have the black markets attention. Last time that happened it ended up being an abnormal that should never has seen the light of day...

Holding up a hand... you want me to deliver it where your home in the wildlands or your current residence in Dr Magnus Sanctuary?

She chuckled to the old man... Deliver it to me I will be in the Sanctuary for now... I am sure your little house cat will tell you if I leave or I will... Don't try to cross me... I can still hand deliver your son to the tribunal... I do believe their ruling was dead or alive...

With that she turned around and walked out leaving the old man to seethe in a rage he would never act on. She then returned to the Sanctuary and to the labs to be ready if anything happened that her rage and hunger to kill to protect her family... if even from themselves.

Kate

Kate saw her arrive and the look in her eyes Hey... I was about to see what the kitchen was fixing up for everyine... any requests Isis?

Glancing to Kate she shook her head no. Deliveries will be arriving here tonight... they are to be locked up and inform only me when they arrive.

Kate nodded and moved a little quicker to get away from her.

Henry

He blinked at some of the add ons to the files... someone had placed something in her file is some sort of shorthand... Maybe Tesla could decipher it or Magnus if he had to... THough the only person that knew about the file was Declan so maybe he should find him... Something was strange about the shorthand... he had seen it somewhere before but where?

This was all alot to take in and beyond breaking the strange shorthand he just wanted to find Isis and them get away back to her home and just get away from it all get her away from it all... He had a window into her violently protective nature over Ashley and Helen...

Druitt

They were nowhere to be found, probably off in some shielded part of the Sanctuary, why they needed to take such measures...well that question answered itself. John found himself going over the things left about the room, clues and the like they were obviously moving onto the next portion of there efforts making progress, all of the vital information was taken or put away, scientist were slobs up until they completed the task at hand leaving all sorts of research materials here and there for easy access or merely being too busy to bother with neatness.

Back into the hall he found Isis, obviously not in the best of moods, very driven in stance and composure "What has you in such a state Isis, did the lab rats do something wrong again?" Though he attempted to sound concerned it sounded as cold and smug as always...it'd become habit unfortunately.

Sanctuary loading dock

"What the hell is this thing?"

"I dunno just ring the buzzer and help me get it off the truck, I don't get paid enough to ask questions."

"Holy crap its heavy, get the pump-jack under this thing."

There it was the sarcophagus had been moved a continent away in a matter of hours, "So what we just leave it on the door step?!"

"Yeah its not like we've got paper to sign, does that look like legal cargo?...No so get in the damn truck and lets go."

Isis

A few deliveries that might fix a few problems Johnny boy thats all...

A smirk graced her lips but it wasn't a warm loving smile... No this smile had hidden for a long time it was not "their isis"

Kate

She ran down to the loading docks and growled as one load was arriving as one was simply dumped off. Getting the info on the fleeing truck she would let Magnus know or Isis whoever was in charge right now of deliveries. For now she radioed Isis as she was the one that told her of arriving deliveries.

Hey... Isis two loads here guessing they are both yours...

Isis smirked... could use some added muscle John... Care to help? Could rid Helen Little cub and the Sanctuary of a couple of problems.

She laughed... If my plan becomes required.

Turning she headed to the lift to the loading docks.

Druitt

Even in his state he knew something was off about Isis but couldn't quite place it, something very wrong, that sadistic smile meaning more than it should have. He said nothing but chose to stay close and watch for more troubling signs.

"What's in the deliveries Isis?" All a quiver with curiosity.

He walked with her into the lift taking it down into the loading bay waiting for his answer.

Astaroth

Waking to a dark confined place, eyes fluttering open his senses deadened, and memories faded he tried to recollect where he was. The cold had seeped into his core paralyzing his muscles, but as it dissipated his muscles responded letting him move and flex even in this confined space.

This casket had been shuffling around alot, as he could now sense the heat outside, warm bodies of his captors two carrying moving him then fleeing another arriving, the voices muffled and the language foreign waiting patiently as his strength returned.

Well lets just put it this way one item had the entire black market up in arms and now straight from the museum in Ireland to us... Mind you I had to call in one of my few remaining favors with the other felines in this town but its worth it to watch them all squirm.

As for the one arriving now... Just a couple of hollow ones and ahh 4 soul worms... I knew the idiot would mess up and glad it was in our favor.

Signing for the boxes she leaned down towards the sarcophagus and growled in the primal tongues of old

Peace friend you are safer here than anywhere else in this modern world

Responding to the voice by scraping his talons on the inside of the sarcophagus a loud screech, as it sliced into the metal, this wasn't meant to withstand him...that was what the purpose for keeping it 'cold'. He spoke not a word in response to the old tongue, his mind still adjusting catching the words 'modern world' spiking his rage in wondering how long he'd been imprisoned.

Druitts ears picked up the sound "Is it possible that its still alive?" He was astonished by this find, not knowing that the beast inside could feel their presence, their heat. Druitt leaned in a little too close when a fist burst through the metal trying to grip him by the throat. John had 'ported' just feet away "Hostile I'll assume." Preparing for a fight as it struck at the lid opening the hole wider and wider before bursting up through it. A large man with long blonde hair, with golden eyes rising to his feet, he could smell vampire here 'somewhere' eyeing the bald creature before him he had the taint about his scent but he wasn't one of them.

Then shot his eyes to the woman, the likely source of the old tongue and let his wings free, pulling violently from his flesh releasing a spray of blood for having been sealed away for so long. Speaking in Gaelic as he stepped out of his tomb "Where is your creator? Where is the vampire?" his question aimed at John seeing him as an abnormal born of vampire blood knowing that scent anywhere...he was bred to track that scent like a hound. Now he simply wanted to kill the creator not the pets.

Moving past Isis and straight for John using his tail to whip around him only to have Druitt 'flit' behind him. Astaroth could sense him still the flare of heat gave him away kicking the teleporter the moment he re-materialized speaking in Gaelic again "Where?"

John looking to Isis "Still think it was a good favor to call in?" grinning at the prospect of a good fight, regaining his legs.

A roar as the slender raven haired woman was not standing there shifting black fur overtaking her form her eyes feline and golden as she snarled again.

Stand down you will harm none here... this is Sanctuary for ALL.

Catching the tail as is finished slashing around she snarled again...

Attack anyone in this place again and you will go back in the grave where they found you...

The two hollow ones quickly moved away self preservation all that existed in their minimal mind. The Soul worms however began their screaming out... the high pitched noises one of their more standard defenses.

Kate

OWWW Seriously What the HELL

Reaching for the stunner rifle they keep down here she aimed at the thing that tore its way out of the box.

ENOUGH ALL OF YOU OR SOMEONE IS GOING TO SLEEP THE HARD WAY!!!!

She was tough but this was a little too high powered for her and she was going to sedate someone with the stunner or die trying.

Druitt took his chance at the distracted beast 'porting' at him hand buried and grasping for a heart inside the monster...but it wasn't there spouting off his ancient language before swatting his attacker off him. The gaping hole dropping him to a knee as he felt it close under a protective hand. The third little mortal with the strange object was not his concern nor was the gibberish she spoke...Had he been asleep long enough that all other languages had been lost.

The beast that held his tail now the focus of his attention "Release me!" he hissed, knowing she likely didn't understand the words he looped his tail around her neck and squeezed.

Isis

She simply laughed that cold dead sadistic laugh as this creature tried to choke her with its tail. Her eyes still that golden feline but something behind them something very lethal and very human.

Kate

Once Druitt was out of the way not wanting to feed his little passenger she opened fire as the energy blast fired perfect and true from the rifle. She was yelling again if it didn't drop one or both of them she wanted back up.

Druitt couldn't beleive the beast was still standing after Kate had shot the giant man-lizard...though the closest thing that came to mind was dragon. It had fallen to a knee trying to shake off the blast "Again Kate!" Druitt called out.

Astaroth's senses going haywire after that...blast, some kind of 'vampire trickery or magic'... he thought struggling to regain his feet. Hissing with fangs bared, and wings flaring wide in an intimidating display.

Kate

Looking quickly between Isis and Druitt.

Sorry Isis...

She cranked the setting up till the safeties kicked in and locked the dial and fired again.

Druitt just don't let her kill me

Isis

She nodded agreeing with Druitt for Kate to fire again... Snarling at the energy kept arcing between the two of them forcing her grip to tighten from the sudden muscle contraction from the electro blast.

The next one hit... lots of light... intense pain then... she thought she heard herself roar before it all...

Being somewhat familiar with biology and the placement of ones organs, John had his interest piqued the moment he went for the monster's heart, "Kate have Isis taken to her room if you would be so kind."

Stepping over the sleeping creature, despite its rather sinister demeanor it was an intriguing find, and after a great deal of difficulty and help he'd managed to move the monster into a containment cell. After a series of scans were performed to ease his curiosity John still had the experience of a scientist though not to the level of Magnus and the other two but he knew well enough to know what he was looking at, and what she would like to examine once she was ready.

Samples of blood and skin were, taken as well as several scans of the internal organs, Helen would've disapproved of him taking blood without premission of the creature but it wasn't likely they'd get it until they figured out what language it was rambling on in. John was more intent of the organ placement taking a close and thorough look to find the truth...the beasts heart was on the right side, a birth defect a human birth defect meaning he was once human making that blood sample rather more valuable then he first assumed.

Taking a few notes of the finer points of this abnormal and writing them down, he left them and the samples in a small case at the lab writing a note on the case:

Helen

A bit of interesting pieces of our new guest, check containment cell D-7 when you're ready, you'll be pleasantly surprised. All samples needed are in the case so there'll be no need to wrestle them from its owner later on.
Oh and this one was 'Invited' by Isis take care it or he has a bit of a temper may want to take Nikola or myself to visit.

John

PS: possibly older than the five sarcophagus is in the loading dock for dating purposes

Now John simply wanted a good meal and a cup of coffee still trying to stagger through a light hangover. They didn't quite need him until something else went wrong, the lizard was likely to cause problems and Isis was acting strangely so, some entertainment was bound to crop up sooner or later.

And where did Magnus and the mad scientists run off too?

Helen shook her head vehemently now, "No. I can't do that. I won't! I don't want to live forever. I don't want to run the world. Power is not my goal in life, only protecting the innocent...And, I don't want to somehow transfer my consciousness into a new body. There's nothing wrong with this one!"

Magnus reached out to de Blythe, stopping what he was working on in mid-motion, her hand on his wrist. She looked into his eyes, "You can't play God with people's lives and expect it to not have consequences." she reminded him. "I...I need you to stop the Helen Magnus clone's development. Stop this now. It's my DNA and I have a right to decide what happens to it." she asserted, not feeling at all convinced of her own decision but thinking seeing her clone be killed would be preferable to any plans de Blythe or Tesla could have dreamed up for her.

Nikola Tesla shook his head. He was afraid this would happen. He needed this project to come to fruition and had been worried Helen wouldn't willingly consent and might even try to stop them.

Approaching her from behind his eyes locked with de Blythe's in understanding as he snuck up on her and plunged the syringe into her arm. "I'm so sorry, ibujavi." he whispered as her eyes grew wide. She turned to face her traitorous friend and the wooziness overtook her, making her stumble and go limp in his arms. Tesla caught her before she fell, gently lifting her now limp body into his arms and carrying her incapacitated form away to a bed in a quiet corner of the lab.

"Well done, Tesla." mumbled de Blythe, quickly getting back to work. "It had to be done."

Nikola looked once more back at Helen, not unconscious at all but paralyzed within her own non-responsive body until he would give her the antidote. He couldn't bear to bring her to a comatose state so this, he thought, would do for now. But, he hated that he'd had to do it at all. "I wish she would just see reason sometimes." he said sadly before getting back on with his own part of the job.

The clones were developing more slowly now. Their growth was nearing a finishing point and each of them would stop somewhere in adulthood between the earliest trace of childhood's full end and the earliest traces of middle age. That roughly twenty year gap of time was impossible to predict genetically as environmental factors were also contributions to this onset in a normal human's lifespan. It looked as if pre-kabal Ashley was going to stop changing in her early twenties. The other was still ageing but slowing to a point where it seemed she'd get closer to thirty. The Helen clone was slowing as well. She might end up somewhere in her early to mid thirties if it kept up. Tesla wasn't worried. Any Helen was a good Helen, at any age. Soon his work overcame his trepidations over the limp but still breathing form of the real Helen Magnus left cast aside in the corner.

de Blythe tried to ignore the noise coming from other parts of the sanctuary as he leaned forward and took a blood sample from Magnus’ right arm. “Is it always like this here?” he asked Tesla who nodded in reply. “This is the most critical part of our work and we cannot afford to be disturbed” he looked down at Magnus “yet something deep down makes me uncomfortable. Do we have the right to MAKE her accept this? I know it will benefit the whole planet but should we really force her?”

He looked at the two Ashley clones and continued “I promised her I would try to get her daughter back to her and we are so close to achieving that. But does that give me us the right to experiment further?” The noise from other parts of the building intensified and de Blythe looked at Tesla “I don’t know what’s happening there but I feel uneasy. Let’s begin with Ashley or we might lose all of them.” He could see Tesla was not happy with the idea but he continued “Give her the anti-dote!” Tesla hesitated so de Blythe picked him up with one hand and said “DO AS I TELL YOU!” With those words he let him crash to the ground dropping the syringe onto the floor where it smashed spilling the liquid.

Tesla looked at de Blythe and murmured “Well done Doctor. That was the ONLY anti-dote. Now we HAVE to get her into the immortal body and we have to do it now.”

“It’s not ready, she’ll die” said de Blythe “unless …” Lifting his right arm he raised the sleeve and took a blade to it “unless I can save her.” He opened Magnus’ blouse and then cut the bridge of her bra. Taking a sterile tube and needle he plunged the point into the right auricle of her heart. Slicing his own arm he allowed his artery to pump blood into Helen’s chest. “Now you’ve got some Tudor blood too Doctor” he said as saw her eyes begin to quiver open. Feeling himself weaken de Blythe looked at the post Cabal Ashley Clone “Give that one to Melaven” he said as he gasped for breath. “Tell Magnus the transfer formula was used in Atlantis and taken to Egypt by the survivors. She read it on the inner wall of Remises III’s tomb back in 1932. I was with her then but she will not have remembered me. Tell her I’ll be back after …” With those words de Blythe lapsed into unconsciousness just as Magnus’ regained her own.

Kate

Kate radioed Declan and got some help moving Isis to her room and left her some water and tea and then left the room but did not go far just in case. She looked out over the city there from the turrets and... she could see why Isis chose this far away point in the sanctuary as her domain.

Declan checked vitals and kept an eye on her for a bit before going back to other duties and conference calls with other Sanctuaries and governmental agencies.

Isis

It took a while but Isis did in time wake up with a blood curdling roar as she leaped up realizing she was in her own chambers and calmed a little. Getting dressed again she staggered from her chambers and moved towards the stairs. Hearing a voice behind her as Kate called out.

Ya not mad at me are you?

No Kate not at all... had to be done... Though I could use some help till my balance is a bit more sure.

Kate nodded. Where to?

I want to go see Ashley I will need one of those small boxes that arrived... the ones labeled SW and a color star... Red one I believe...

Kate nodded. Lets get you down there and I will go get it they are not too far from her anyways... but what do you want with a soul worm? Kate knew what they were from her research to keep up with what she might run into and these little things were not something to be messed with.

Insurance... Isis smiled. Kate one thing I am sure you will figure out is that I am willing to kill and die for those within this family and that includes you and Will also.

Kate just nodded fairly sure that she could believe that with the temper she has seen from Isis

"It's alright," she said looking at Will. She pulled out a chair for him but did not close the door. "It's nice to meet you, Will. It's very nice of yall to let me stay here." She watched Will carefully see any signs of lying or trickery. She wasn't used to kindness, and was never treated well without something in return. This might be the first people shed actually want to help

Nikola Tesla was shocked as one of the bodies sat up from the water, gasping for air, animated of her own accord! He turned to see what was the matter and watched as the clone of Helen Magnus opened her eyes wide and looked directly at him, not one bit of recognition in the face, of course, but something was there. Someone was in there and they hadn't done anything to add people's essences to these hollow forms yet!

She cried out with vocal chords rough and squeaky from never having been used previously. Her mouth clearly trying to form words! Tesla reached out to help her support herself to stand as she was obviously flailing around trying to do. She grasped his arms almost painfully and rasped, "Where am I? Where's my bus?"

He was beyond bewildered now. "Bus? Helen, what bus?" It was force of habit and the name flew from his lips before he remembered this wasn't really Helen Magnus but just some empty clone, or it should have been....

"Helen? Who's Helen?" asked the woman softly, learning to use the vocal cords given to her by medical science. "I sound...different...where am I?"

"Who are you?" asked Nikola.

The blonde, younger version of Magnus looked right back at him with bewilderment in her features, "Jenny. I'm Jenny...Jennifer Armory. Where's my bus? Why am I..." she trailed off as she looked down at herself, suddenly very, very self-involved as her hands and eyes explored the unfamiliar terrain of what so obviously was not the body of Jennifer Armory.

Tesla looked to deBlythe with dismay. "What is this? How could a whole other personality have entered one of these forms without us controlling the process?"

But, Jenny was staring now at the calender on the wall behind Tesla, "2011? What happened to the rest of 2009, and 2010? I was driving, just dropped off my last kid home from school, I turned the corner onto Mapleview and saw a pick up truck coming up the street in the opposite direction going too fast..." She trailed off. That was the last thing she could remember. Looking down at this amazingly toned, well curved, long legged, TALL, woman's body... Then, she looked back up to the man who's arms she was still gripping onto for balance. "Is this the afterlife?" she asked incredulously.

de Blythe was unconscious, nearly dead at this point...Tesla realised, to offer any answers to his questions. He had no time to save the man just yet. He couldn't waste time on this new mystery just yet either. He was finishing the sequence to begin the extraction of Ashley and Melaven from the body in the medical facility. As he waited he watched the other two bodies now twitching to life. He felt so very Frankenstein-esque!

de Blythe heard Tesla ask him a qiuestion but was unable to respond as he felt his own conciousness slipping away. Was this death? Had he given Magnus too much of himself?

Rising above his own body he saw a tangle of light flash to and fro above the Magnus clone. Looking down he saw Magnus herself begin to regain control of her own body. Too late he felt the coldness of the grave enfold him and knew that at last he had put the needs of others above those of his own. The world needed Helen Magnus but it did not need Roger de Blythe.

With his last words he whispered "Look after your daughter Helen. And care for Melaven." Unable to help himself any further de Blythe knew his own survival depended on others.

Kate and Isis

Kate helped her down to the lab area and Isis seemed to h ave better regained her balance as walked into the room on her own from there. None of them were here... interesting. She walked over to her watching the sleeping form. Her "niece" had always been a calming factor and now she knew why... her protective nature over Ashley was born from losing a child she never knew she had.

Standing there she glanced over when Kate handed her the little box with the red mark on it. Isis took the box but did nothing just standing there.

Kate was half tempted to go get Henry but her thoughts about Henry liking Isis she had no clue if it was a two way thing or not... she had her suspicions though.

The pre Kabal Ashley form was stirring and Helen Magnus opened her eyes in time to see first the dead body of de Blythe just beside her, and just past him...Ashley was looking right at her, a smile creased her face as she whispered, "Mom!"

Helen sat up with a start as she noticed the other person moving around the room, totally out of her tank and independently walking around as if she'd been conscious for a long while...It was her own clone. The woman approached her with an uncertain half smirk and said, "Hi...um, where are we? How come you have clothes and we other chicks don't?" The accent was not her's either, something like Ontario Canada or Upstate New York...

If Helen had felt any stronger she might not have passed out. But she was still weak and she did black out quite soon after the shock, barely hearing the woman introduce herself as Jenny Armory. As the darkness overtook her senses Helen murmured, "Who in bloody hell is Jenny Armory?"

Zimmerman

Will noted the door kept open and filed that away in his mind. Then he took the offered seat and smiled. "Thanks. So, other than what you've shown us using your gift what can you tell us about yourself? And, how would you like us to help you?"

Something made Isis turn seeing De Blythe she moved that way. Dropping the soul worm she simply said.

No no little vamp no dodging your proper fate... keep him alive worm but just barely.

Dropping the worm from the case it seemed to glow and skreech as it landed on the body. A strange odor bathed the body as the little creature began pulling essence back to its flesh and blood coils. Isis knew the ones with red designation had been used to imprison spirits as well as devour them and until he and this Melevan proved their worth they were not getting away that easily.

Astaroth

“Daddy!! Don’t go! PLEASE DON’T GO!!!” The boy screamed and strained against his mother’s grip tears flowing from crystalline blue eyes as he was taken from my home in the dead of night. He was only human he couldn’t fight or risk his family to those beasts, it tore at his heart to see his son scream but what choice did he have.

“Everything will be fine.” Was all he could sa though he knew it to be nothing but lies.

He had dreamed for the first time in so long…and it was of the day he became the monster he was, the day he left his home and family behind in service to his king his creator…his eternal quarry. The vampire Solomon.

Waking in a fit of hissing fangs bared to the expanse of an empty cell, still shaking off the attack that had brought him down, ‘vampire’ magic he had to watch for strange objects…focus’s he thought but how did the human master such a thing?

Looking around this room smooth stone floor…a single slab, no bricks and beams of metal and a peculiar bed, and the flameless torch hanging over head… this was a unique design impossible from his own recollection and he had traveled the globe. Placing a hand on the invisible wall framed in metal the glass *ZAP!* hissing he struck at it *ZAP* enchanted to cause pain upon touch testing several spots *zap!* recoiling with each apparently without any real weak points. An effective prison, and he was starting to feel hungry, and it was in his best interest to bide his time.

He began to hum a tune he once sang to his son as a babe, and carved designs into the floor until they came for him.

Druitt & Henry

Searching the whole of the sanctuary for Magnus and the team he found Henry first, “Whoa! Whoa whoa tall dark and creepy don’t sneak up on me!” Druitt grinned at him menacingly, the engineer seemed a little frazzled in his presence, but was obviously headed somewhere.

“Where is Helen?” Druitt wasn’t here for small talk or intimidation so he kept it short.

“And I’m supposed to know nobody tells me anything until they break something? Can’t you see I’m up to my elbows here, turns out your new ‘guest’ you know the cranky one…well turns out that D-7’s power regulators are acting up so if that thing starts hammering his way out they’ll fry and we’ve got on angry lizard stalking the halls.”

“I look forward to it.” Druitt quipped.

“And that’s why you scare me.” Henry turned into the security room and brought up the cameras tapping away until he brought up a screen “There…wait a minute…that can’t be right.” They could see two Magnus’ one walking around without a stitch the other lying down, and twin Ashely’s?? DeBlythe down Telsa a mess and Isis doing something else entirely this had trouble spelled all over it..

Druitt put his hand on Henry’s shoulder and *poof* Henry stunned, only to look a Druitt angrily “What the-…would you want me next time??”

Druitt looked between the two Helen’s “What’s going on here Nikola?!”

Henry walking over to Isis “This is a bad time isn’t it.”

Isis

Turning to look at Henry she smiled... now was not the time to give into her need for any form of comfort.

No not a bad time at all Henry what assistance do you... require?

The pause something so simple so easily ignored the first little crack in the darkness and the cold brutal ruthless. Glancing over.

Ahhh John... One of our problems here will not escape into death. Soul worm coma should suit the little tudor pain in our collective asses quite nicely now... I do believe Henry requires my assistance with something... keep an eye on everyone will you?

Turning back to Henry with the same cold smile everyone else has seen from her lately.

Shall we?

She motioned towards the door.
